Thanks DW, it's nice to be back.

Shoot matches are the dumbest thing in the world.

They look stupid and they cause injury.

The whole reason professional wrestling became a work is because shoot fighting is boring and dull and the audiences wanted something entertaining.

Kurt in his prime would have killed Puder, but as a broken down man he didn't have a chance. Puder could have injured Angle if he wanted to.

Remember when Brock challenge Kurt to a "Real" match in the back and he got pinned in 10 seconds, I remember when that hit the dirt sheets, Vince was pissed, lol

Today in History

(1988) Bruiser Brody was stabbed to death in Puerto Rico. Jose Gonzales was said to be responsible for the murder and was charged. But the charges were later dropped.

Bruiser Brody was playing with fire for a long time. He was regarded as a real bully by many other wrestlers who he would really injure in the ring. He was universally hated and loathed by the rosters of whichever company he was working for. It was inevitable that he would get into trouble eventually.

As former WCW booker Nick Bockwinkel once said:

"The American Bruiser Brody had a run-in with the Puerto Rican Bruiser Brody. Unfortunately, the Puerto Rican Bruiser Brody just happened to have a twelve-inch knife".

 :wow:

While I was offline, apparently the WWE fired many people. I've only just found out about it. Here is what I think about their decisions:

Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley - Terrible decision and it marks the death of tag team wrestling in the WWE, particularly since it seems likely that Animal from LOD and Heidenreich are probably going to beat MNM at the Great American Bash. The Dudleys should go to TNA.

Charlie Haas and Jackie Gayda - Shame about Haas because he had terrific talent, but absolutely no charisma.

Jim Cornette - Poor decision. Cornette was superb as a manager and an announcer. With Joey Styles he would have been great on Monday Night RAW, instead of Jerry "The KINK" Lawler and JR. He'll go to TNA.

Matt Morgan - Good decision. The guy is a total waste of space.

Marty Jannetty - Bad decision. Jannetty is more talented than half the guys on the roster.

Dawn Marie = Vince fires a pregnant woman? Wow, that shows real class.

Gangrel, Mordacai, Joy Giovanni, Kenzo Suzuki, Hiroko, Mark Lloyd, Mark Jindrak -All good decisions. Jindrak will go to TNA. The rest are worthless.

Maven, Shannon Moore, Akio, Billy Kidman and Spike Dudley - Along with Chavo's abysmal new character, these firings mean the death of the Cruiserweight Division. All these guys should go to TNA.

Don't know if this has already been discussed here or not...

what did you think about the so-called "terrorist" angle,WWE ran with just after the London bombings?

A couple of my buddies who are bigger pro wrestling fanatics than anyone I've ever met, were really pissed that McMahon went ahead with the spot on Smackdown.....

I've also read a couple of newspaper op/eds bashing WWE for not dropping the angle.

Well Vince and "good taste" are often light years apart.

Right now the WWE is a bad state due to the pathetic writing.

We complain about that more than anything else on this fair thread.

After all, this was the same company that exploited the first Gulf War for profit.

And featured fake necrophillia, and a pensioner being sexed to death by Dawn Marie, and showed Stephanie McMoron comparing September 11th to her father's steroid trial. Silly cow.

Nothing is too far for the McMahon's.

well I will defend the WWE on one account the Terrorist angle was shot 2 days before the London bombings, and it would of been hard to redo it in a few hours, now with the attention its getting, Make Muhhamad Hussan a Face, It could be done and it would be a hell of a better angle, but I doubt we will see it

(Did I spell his name Right)?

Well that is true that the angle was filmed before the London attacks. I didn't actually see it because it was edited out of the WWE SmackDOWN broadcast on Friday here in the UK.

To be honest, I've never been able to understand how an Arab-American who has been racially profiled after September 11th could be considered a heel when most of the grievances he talks about are valid.

It just shows that the McMahon's have no tact to handle any angle linked to current events and their ignorance of world affairs is astounding.

It's as bad as the post-9/11 SmackDOWN when Bradshaw basically supported genocide in Afghanistan by demanding that the entire country be carpet-bombed.

Moron.

Perhaps, but the last person you'd want to take foreign policy advice from is Bradshaw.

That's like asking Brock Lesnar for his tips on how to make it as an NFL player.
