WARNING: Pointless rambling ahead: You know, mid twenties is an odd age. I remember 16 like it was yesterday but it just hit me reading that post that it was almost 10 years ago. I'm sitting here in my little home office, married with two kids and I just fully realized I'm well on my way to 30. When the hell did this all happen???

 

Alrighty then, in other news..... :blink:

 

Another power station caught on fire this morning (the second in Phoenix this summer) and it's 110 right now and we're on even less power then we had before. It's rather dark in the house right now because I've got all the shades shut to keep it cool and all the lights off. Fortunately the humidity is low so the swamp is working pretty well, it's still only about 80 in the house which is very comfortable considering the temp outside. I just hope we don't have rolling blackouts on this side of town. There's already been several on the west side today. I've got lots of ice water and misters and stuff ready if we do. The kids are just happy as clams running around in their underwear right now. :)

Both the kids just fell asleep. Normally I'd take the opportunity for a nap but for the first time in ages I actually got a full 8 hours of sleep. It's the middle of the afternoon, the house is quiet and I'm wide awake without the aid of coffee. I vaguely remember this, this is called private time. My first instinct is to go do the laundry but that's not right, I can do something all for myself here. Now if I could just remember how to do that. :blink: Oooooo, painting. I could go paint!

Sounds good to me RC :) ,i am glad you got a full 8 hrs and the kids have dropped off, its always the same you get some time to yourself and you dont know what to do,happens to me all the time .....have fun what ever you do :) .... ...and i am glad i dont live where you do 110 :blink:

Sucks being old, don't it? (kidding :) ). I'm well on my way there myself . I can't even figure out if I'm an adult or still a kid at 19.

 

Hope it stays cool enough in your house. I'd be happy to share some of our 80 degree temps with ya if I could.

I know what you're talking about Ace, it took my fiance to tell me at 22 I was a moman, it really is hard making that mental adjustment for one state to the next.

Hey, RC, I'll have 16 and 17 year olds in my classes when I start teaching. that thought scares me, cus it doesn't seem that long ago that I WAS a 16 or 17 year old in a history class....I can only imagine how my dad feels, though, his only daughter is a senior, and his youngest son is a junior...he must be feeling his age.

You've had too much of it, too much of a good thing makes it a bad thing. Just switch to diet coke or something, it like a month coke will taste good to you again.
