I am listening to Vanessa Carlton right now. It is so infuriating that her new CD is not coming out until NOVEMBER! *bangs head on wall numerous times*

I use Hotmail, Yahoo, and Netscape. Hotmail is the main one but I am thinking of switching it to Yahoo. Cool- 700th post!

Technically, my first STF friend was TSonofvulcan. However, since he was the one who showed me the site over the phone in the first place, having already joined himself, I am not sure that he counts. Thus, I think it would be Jeanway. She was the first person, I think, who really tried to get to know me. Now though, I consider a lot of people on here my friends- certainly those of you who post regularly know me better than a lot of people I know in person!

I am ashamed of myself for not discovering such a wonderful show(s) sooner. I only became a Trekkie about a year ago, when TSonofvulcan kept urging me to watch it. How I wish I had A) met him sooner and
followed his advice sooner! Before that, it was just some show my parents watched once in a lifetime. I remember once when I was really little and my sister and I walked in on my parents watching TNG. We were extremely confused by Geordi's VISOR. However, when I finally started watching it, it became an instant obsession.

1) Romulan
2) Romulan
3) Romulan
4) Romulan
Hmmm, anyone get the impression that I really want to be a Romulan?

It was a pretty good movie in my opinion- but it was one of the first Trek things I have ever watched, so I had not yet gotten to know the characters. Since then, I have watched it several times, still like it, still cry at the end. Even if there was OOC ness, Data dying is still absolutely heartbreaking. (Though not as heartbreaking as the end of TWOK... at least for me LOL). I actually would have watched it more, I would have watched all of my Trek DVDs more, had school not interfered. *thinks of geometry homework she still has to finish...*

This summer was really slow for me, partly because it was so stressful. It started with my lowest grade ever on a report, and my first "B" which to someone like me, whose parents complain if I get a 93, is really bad. Then just about every new person my age I met seemed to hate me *shrugs* It might have also been that my Mom and sister were moving to Kansas, Dad was staying in North Carolina, and I was visiting France for five weeks but instead of coming home to NC as usual, I would be coming "home" to KS. Not the greatest of summers (okay, one of the worst...).

I got Roy Batty and I have no idea who he is, so I cannot tell if that is good or not. (These stupid tests are usually wrong about me anyway). Can anyone desribe him to me?

Interacting with humans. I am the most socially inept nerd on or off the face of the planet, and just interacting with others at school is freaky. That is why I spend so much time on the net and sites like this- no one knows me and everyone likes the things I like (namely, Trek).

I am going to my homecoming dance on October second, and it will be my first formal dance. I, to be blunt, am petrified. I have always been a nerdy wallflower, and have avoided the social scene at all costs. My old school did not even have dances. Does anyone have any suggestions? Can those of you who have been to a homecoming dance tell me what to do/what not to do?

I recently became a vegetarian and I love veggies. (My little sister calls me a veggie). I generally like them raw, but cooked is good too, provided they are cooked well. A few days ago, I noticed to my amusement that I was almost the only one at my school who got the peas and carrots side. It was delicious. Almost, my Dad makes this broccoli with Velveeta (spelling?) cheese melting on top... my sister and I were likely the only little kids who would ever eat broccoli. I still like it like that now, in high school. So yes, veggies live short and not so prosperous with me.

When I changed my avatar to the one I currently have (this was a few days ago), it did not show up. I stuggled with it for a bit, failing, and at last just went to bed. The next morning, when I came back, it was up. Maybe it just needed time to process the change?

LOL Who does NOT procrastinate, Who? I did my entire biology project the night before it was due and then I saw the paper on which she graded my presentation and just about all the fives were circled. (Top grades). Yes, I know it is bad of me to procrastinate though.

Romulan websites, hmmm. I generally just go to Google and type in "Romulus" or "Romulan" because are not really that many good ones out there (that I have found). As for the Romulan/Klingon thing, Peter David takes an interesting angle (one that I think is correct) on that in his book Triangle: Imzadi II.
Our alliance had an effect on both our races. We learned from each other; unfortunately the mutual education was not an equitable one. We were a better, stronger, more decent race before we allied with the Klingons. An entire generation of our leadership grew up during the alliance, and learned from the Klingons their thieving ways, their duplicity and fundamental lack of trustworthiness. The Klingons, on the other hand, saw the way in which other races regarded us. Saw how our honor, our strategy and breeding elevated us in the eyes of others. And so they mimicked those attributes in order to raise themselves up to other races, discarding us once they had stipped us of our weaponry and our very character. The are parasites, and mark my words: They will destroy your Federation in the same way that they brought us down. If you trust them, then you are fools. I should know, because we trusted them and were no less foolish.Let me know if this helps any and if you find any good Romulan websites!

 This is hilarious! Hmmm, I wonder what the Ancient Egyptians thought...

I never even noticed that there were options on Google *feels stupid* but this is the most awesome thing since that ice cream dispenser in the cafeteria of my new school! I have it set to Klingon now *is waiting until they finally invent a canon Romulan language so she can put Google in Romulan*

Wow. I love this story. I guess I can relate to it some, being a nerdy freshman who sometimes contemplates suicide herself. This was really touching though, thanks, Ace. And Jeanway, I know what you mean. Sometimes I think that the truest friends I have are the people that I have never even truely met. I do not know most of your names, where you live, your ages, what your lives are like, yet you guys are sometimes (okay, most of the time!) better friends than the people I know all these things about.

Right-handed.

Between those two, I would vote for the Technocrats anyday. My little sister would be a Cheerocrat- you can hang out with her! As for, I am the most antisocial person on or off the face the planet... and I love my nerdy/geeky ness! Besides, I hate happiness. LOL

I was in sixth grade PE, and since we then had to be escorted from PE to our next class, history, the class was waiting for our teacher. When she came down, she was crying, which is really rare for a teacher at school, so immediately, everyone in the class assumed the worst. When we got to the history classroom, there she told us what had happened. There was a TV turned to the news in the cafeteria and no more classes the whole day. I was only ten, so I did not really understand the import, but everyone was shocked and horrified the same.

I want more Trek now! Five years without Trek... I am dying at the very thought. I would be in my second year of college before there was new Trek! To me, that is a long way away. No, we must have new Trek sooner!
-
RC just recently made my avatar for me and I love it! It has my two favorite charaters in Star Trek on it, and then Spock's father too. I love it! Hee hee...
-
We could always celebrate September 8, as that was the day Star Trek first came on air, and also April 5, which will be First Contact Day. Just some ideas for other "Trekkie holidays."

Hmmm, this is hard... LMAO Valeris is my choice, of course.

I do not have a chance to check these out now, as I have school in less than an hour, but from my brief glance, these look pretty good. Thanks Tern. By the way, welcome to Startrekfans.net!
