I fall somewhere between the two views; I agree with some of what both Proto-type and TUH have said.

I really like the show and will continue to watch it, and I agree that it is very visually appealing. Number 6 could be a decent character if they gave her more to do (other than the obvious :( ), but Dr Baltar continues to get on my... last... nerve. If that character were eliminated, the show would be better for it, IMO.

I also don't care for the changes made to the openening music this season. It was already good; it didn't need to be altered to that loud wailing... or whatever.

I wouldn't compare it to Trek as they're completely different in execution. I like both styles in different ways.

I really like Sandra, and if it's the Jesse James I'm thinking of, he seems like a decent guy.

But do they "match"? Heck no. :( I don't think it'll last either, but best of luck to them.

As of an hour ago, the sun was shining brightly. As soon as I pulled the lawnmower out of the garage, it started downpouring. :(

The Undiscovered Country is my all-time favorite Trek film.

Generations paled in comparison to TUC (in my opinion), but it was still a very enjoyable movie. I've probably watched it more often than Nemesis, Final Frontier and Motion Picture combined. :lol:

I had planned on coming and was looking forward to it, but some friends called that morning and I ended up driving up to hang out with them for the wkend.

I've gotta go with the original Star Wars trilogy, specifically "A New Hope." There are few, if any, films that can claim to have had the worldwide impact that Episode 4 had.

I used to bowl alot, but now I only get to play maybe once or twice a yr. If I remember right, my highest score was only 150-something or 130-something. Since I'm completely out of practice now, I'm lucky to break a hundred :P .

No. Whenever I have spelling errors in my posts, 99% of them are typos, and I try not to have very many of them either. I've always been good at spelling, so I don't take the extra time to use the check (though I've also had to consult the online dictionary once or twice).

AE's correct in that it may not be the best time to alter this from last year's contest. I picked an awkward time to bring it up. Sorry, all (I meant to mention this long before the contest even started). Whether or not it's done, AE and LotB make the decisions on this and that works for me.

Good idea Ace but it's kinda late in the game to change the groundrules for this particular contest, changes now might cause dispute. Then again now that you've brought it up, not changing them could lead to dispute.  :P

 

I think we should go with considering your idea for the rules of the next contest down the road...

Just to clarify, AE, if you go back and look at the nominations thread and this one... there were no ground rules .

It would be up to LotB and yourself. Like I said, it was just a thought. When and if it's used makes no difference to me (though if we end up with a tie, you may have little choice).

I'll ignore being called an idiot for the moment and admit that I talk on the cell while driving (though not often). I have a hands-free unit, but I don't talk in the car enough to even think about taking it with me.

The people who talk on the phone all the time while driving are definitely distracted. I've personally never had a problem, though. I hate the idea of getting into a wreck too much to take all my attention off the road.
