  1. I voted for Star Trek: Starfleet Command. I have always been interested in how the Starfleet programs is managed. They could have regulars at starfleet command and on starships. We could follow starships that have different missions and see how it's all coordinated. This would also allow for characters from previous series that have been promoted to be in the series. We could have Capt. Will Riker or Capt. Sulu and have Admiral Janeway so everyones happy.

  2. I gave it a 7.5. but I give Archer an 11 as a cowboy. Smmmookin  . Seriously though Scott Bakula is an outstanding actor in all respects.

    Click for Spoiler:

I am not really a huge fan of westerns but I enjoyed the story of the earthlings and how they were kidnapped, enslaved and then liberated. I think I would of liked to learn more about how they were kidnapped though and also how Enterprise came upon the planet. So thats why I gave it the rating I did. Plus Twilight really raised the bar.

WOW next week looks great, can't wait!

  3. Hi there Xenexian

Alterego has hit the nail on the head on my intended meaning of the word monster. The term "monster of the week" simply means the introduction of more exotic aliens that look a little less like humans with ridges on their head or nose, as I'm sure that it would all be a bit more exciting if aliens in the mold of the M113 creature and the gorn were introduced. I noticed that you mentioned the Horta, which shows that the use of these sort of designs of aliens can really have an impact on the quality of the episode, and this is highlighted in Devil in the Dark as I do not think it would be as effective if the Horta were just a man.

I think that we are already seeing a good variety of non human like species. Take the Xindi for example, out of the 5 species we have seen only one looks similar to humans. If the reptilian species isn't monster like I don't know what is. They look pretty freaky to me and so do the insectoid species. Then there is the sloth and the aquatic, they are all really interesting and look noting like us. Lastly, recently we've seen Tarquin from 'Exile' he was pretty nasty looking. So to sum up we have seen 5 nasty looking aliens in the last 8 episodes. I say that's pretty darn good! :wow:

  4. I voted for ENT only because it's my favorite right now. I will have to wait for it to end to see if its my favorite of all time. Otherwise I would vote for TNG as my favorite of all time. I can still remember seeing the very first episode with Q when it premiered. I thought it was just the coolest thing. Voyager would be my 3rd for all time and I haven't seen DS9 yet. TOS I feel is really in a place of it's own and it's really hard to compare with the modern series. For it's time it was great.

  5. IMO it's not lazy that the writers name the aliens after there native planet. After all I am a Californian. If I left the country I would be an American. If I left the planet I would be an Earthling. We always referred to possible life on Mars as Martians. It seems only natural to me. In fact I think it would be silly to have a completely unrelated name. However I do think it is silly that we are referred to as Terrans, Humans, and Earthlings. I believe we are Earthlings and we are of the human species versus primate, mammal etc. I guess what I am saying is IMO there is a difference between what planet your from and the species you are.

  6. I saw the previews they are playing for this weeks Survivor for the first time yesterday. I agree with VBG they are really playing up the Rupert rebellion. I bet he wins immunity. I can also see as I predicted somethings up with Sandra. I dont trust her one bit. My guess is Rupert wins immunity and they vote of Shawn again. What a dumb *buttocks* for conspiring against Rupert so soon after his return. Once again I bet Jon is not ousted....AHHHHHHHHHH. But thats what I like so much about this show, it's very hard to predict what will happen...

P.S. WOOOHOOOO Northstar is on tonight!

  7. O.K. that was really cool...

    My Elf Story

My name is Luthien Aldarion but most people just call me Larien. I met Amras Telrunya in 1994 and we were married in 1998. We have a 5 month old daugher named Luthien but we call her Elbereth.

    My Hobbit Story

My name is Rosie-Posie Gamgee Whitfurrows but most people just call me Azaelia. I met Berilac Gamgee-Took of Bywater in 1994 and we were married in 1998. We have a 5 month old daughter named Rosie-Posie but we call her Lobelia.

Some interesting notes. My daughter and I have the same full name in both Elvish and Hobbit. Mine is Cynthia and hers is Alexandra.

My husband and I share the Gamgee name even before we were married.

  8. My Favorite Is The One Where Other Personalities Keep Popping Up In Her.

    Help, Which One Is That???

I believe that is 'Infinite Regress' Season 5....That should be showing on UPN on Sunday at 10:00pm PST in about 5 weeks. I will be looking forward to seeing it again.

  9. O.K. its Monday I feel I am now ready to discuss Northstar. Only 2 more days  . Anyway at first I wasn't really looking forward to this episode that much but I feel the one thing it's really got going for it is the fact that its not a time travel eps. It should be interesting to find out how these humans got here and why in the heck they are living like they're in the wild west. So now i'm happy to say I cant wait until Wednsday!

P.S isn't that local school teacher that girl from Taken. I cant remember her name but she was Allys mom.

  10. The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara: Isle Witch by Terry Brooks....

Terry Brooks has been a favorite of mine since high school. I have read all of his Shannara series and Kingdom of Landover series. He is an excellent story teller. I also own his Star Wars: Episode 1 but I haven't gotten around to reading it yet..

  11. I don't know if it's just me, but I was really touched by the "Drone" episode last night. I have seen it before and I can't remember how I reacted to it then but since then I have had a baby (which can make you over emotional anyway) and I was deeply saddened by sevens loss of her "baby" drone One. It was really cute how One was so attached to her and followed her around. He really wanted to do good for the crew. I thought the acting on behalf of Jeri Ryan was excellent. She really looked torn up inside when One refused to get treatment for his injuries. I think it would have been cool if One would of stayed a part of Voyagers crew. I think that is now one of my fav 7 of 9 episodes and of season 5.
