  1. I loved Proving Ground! I laughed, I cried, I fumed and I laughed some more.

I adore the Archer/Shran relationship. It really has become a highlight of the show. I also enjoyed the repartee between Reed and Talas. Did anyone else see some sexual tension between the two??? The scene with Trip and Shran was really poignant and I liked the polite distaste that was shown between Shran and T'pol. I rather panicked at the end and thought the whole Archer/Shran dynamic would be shot but what a save! It left me all warm and tingly. It was a wonderful character driven show and I hope to see many more like it. I gave it an 8.5, It dropped from a 9 because I thought the weapon was too easily taken.

  2. I seem to agree with most of you. I didn't find Archers behavior out of line. Trip is really a take action kind of guy and sometimes he can even be a little to quick on the trigger. :P I think Archer just wanted to make it perfectly clear that he wanted no action to be taken and knew that Trip was going to object. I think we all have to remember that this isn't just your average mission and sometimes things that would seem un professional under normal circumstances just don't matter when the ship and finally Earth is at stake.

  3. I have had my laptop for about a year. Before that I had a PC. I have had a computer for so long dating back to apple in the late 80's. I have to say I love the freedom of the Laptop. I didn't like the keyboard at first but I am used to it now and can type just as fast. I didn't get one of the dinky sized ones since I'm not taking it with me all the time. It has a nice big monitor and the keyboard is normal size. I actually find the keyboard is less stressfull on my wrists since I am not reaching upwards for the keys. I had minor cts for a while when I worked on computers all day at my old job. I really hate the mouse pad on laptops but I picked up a cordless mouse and it's great. I love it!

  4. I enjoyed this episode but it may have only been because I haven't seen one in weeks.

I thought the story was a little boring with the ship being taken over, it's getting old. It would of been o.k. if there was a really interesting story. The combination of played out scenario and boring story just didn't live up to prior season 3 episodes. I will only touch briefly on the religion aspect of the epi. What I took away from the episode was how important it is to have respect and understanding of other peoples beliefs. I do tend to look on the bright side of things though. As for the T'pol should be stronger argument, she couldn't fight anyone with out taking the chance that one of the aliens would blow themselves up. She let them push her aside, big deal, she didn't find it logical to fight back in this situation.

    I gave the episode a 6.5.

  5. I am excited beyond words for this new direction for our space program. No one has stepped on to another planet in my lifetime so that in its self is long over due. I think that anyone who does not see the significance of these events has no idea of the importance of our need to explore and understand about life and how it began. All those negative nellies griping over the trillion dollar price tag don't get it. Yes it is costly but it will be spread over decades. Can you put a price tag on human evolution? If any other presidents try to kill this program during their term they will be killing the human spirit. But thats just my opinion. :wow::grin:

  6. Thanks luvin.. that really made me smile. It's nice to know I have lived. :assimilated:

How do you explain what is Oly oly oxen free...*thinking* It served many a purpose I beleive. It was used while looking for someone or something or just as a general call of the wild as it were. I'm not really sure....any other thoughts out there?

  7. I was just curious as to how many new members have joined since St.com closed the forums. Maybe you could help with this VBG :assimilated: I was really surprised to see all the new members and find out about how may were now chatting while I was MIA over the holidays.

  8. Well as you all know I am a big fan of SB/Capt. Archer. I was also a fan of Quantum Leap and when I found out that SB was chosen to be the Capt on Enterprise I was thrilled. I thought he made an excellent choice. That being said I have to also say the SB full filled my expectations of what I wanted to see in our new captain and went way beyond. It goes with out saying SB is an outstanding actor. He proved such in QL and it continues in ENT. I think the the ST franchise has only benefitted from SB contribution of Archer and I think by the time the series has come to an end our first captain will be much loved by the fans and we will look to Archer like we have to Picard and Kirk to compare future captains. O.k. I think I have gushed enough. :assimilated::borg2:

  9. As for Troi, I don't remember her wearring a catsuit on TNG, yes, she wore outfits that showed off her figure, but nothing outrageous, I feel.

It was definatley a catsuit. It does not bother me either way but as I was watching some TNG eps lately it reminded me of some recent discussions of T'Pols wardrobe. Deanna's outfits were just as skin tight as anything T'pol is wearing. It's just nobody made such a big deal about it back then.

  10. :) Hey Everyone!

I haven't been on nearly enough in the past two weeks but I haven't gone anywhere. The holidays were crazy for me. I had family staying with me for 2 weeks and between all the shopping and visiting I haven't been able to come in here. The few times I have there really werent any topics I had any input on. Anyway I am sure everything will return to normal once the new eps start running. I hope you all had a great holiday and I will be posting.. :)

  11. I also had not noticed this. I had never heard of an issue with non-trek fans either. The only thing I ever heard non-trekkies didnt like was all the techno babble. Anyways the only thing I really noticed that was different with ENT was Trips accent. I didn't vote since I never noticed a difference.

  12. Luckily

If you're going to be insulting at least insult for the right reasons. CJLP complained there was too much sex. My last words were I was only acknowledging it exists.

Oh..Were those your last words? You're edited this post so many times I've lost track..I still haven't seen any sex on Enterprise..But this is an old road isn't it?...I'm done with it...

I think that this banter is getting a little nasty. Lets everyone just respect each others opinion. If you have nothing more to add as positive rebutle please dont bother posting.

  13. There is no writer capable of making anything good of a Trip/T'Pol pairing - they are just fundamentally wrong for each other. Unfortunately the Xindi arc or the other characters do not appeal to me enough to counter-balance the loss of Trip.  I hope Spike  more like her in temperament.

adds DS9 to its line-up soon.

TUH don't give up on the show!

Just because Trip and T'pol are going to be involved in the near future doesn't mean that it will continue forever. Lets just see how it plays out. This is why I hate spoilers.

I respect your opinion on the relationships on board. If it came down to it I think I would prefer not to have any of the officers really get involved with each other. This ship is too small. It's not like this is Voyager and it's a practically a city in space. I was trying not to refer to

    Click for Spoiler:

Trip and T'pol as a an opposites attract cliche. Just that it would be interesting to watch because they are so different. I don't find it that odd that T'pol likes Trip. She is a woman vulcan and it is obvious by the way they have portrayed her character that she is more emotional than her male counterparts. That being said I will just leave it at it's not going to totally disappoint me if they have a relationship as Archer/T'pol would have. I do hope that it's not a real focus for long so you can continue to enjoy the show.

  14. I voted for Christina. Although I am not actually a fan of either, I voted for her because she can actually sing. I think her latest CD had some cool songs. I do find both of them totally innapropriate for minors. There song lyrics and the way they present themselves is inappropriate for young girls and I would not want my daughter listening to their music.
