  1. Thanks everyone !! It's 5a.m here in England and I can't sleep. I couldn't think of anything i'd rather do than come online and chat to you all. Does that mean i am now addicted?

  2. and I hate the idea of a corrupt religious leader.  I mean imagine someone like her as the Pope.

D o you think we haven't had, or even perhaps still have religious leaders capable of that kind of corruption today?

  3. OK, my fault, I ment to say 5th season as that's when Roddenberry passed away.  Anywho, I don't give him all the credit, I just see him as the guy who "runs" the franchise, not neccessarry responsible for all the creativity. :o

Point taken. Sorry for going on, i just feel that he is not as true to Roddenberry's vision as he should be.A case of ego, like it's my baby now. However this is only my opinion based on comments he has made and i could be wrong.

  4. I just think that after ENT, we need to depart from the typical "crew on a starship explorring the galaxy" formula for a while.  I think that's why DS9 was so popular among the fans and why VOY sufferred.  (shrugs)

You could be right. To be honest i'll probably be happy with anything as long as they keep making Trek, but i wish they'd get rid of Rick Berman. I'm sorry but i just don't think he's the right guy to head the franchise.

He's been heading it since like the 2nd season of TNG! :o

No sorry, he hasn't, he was still having his wings well and truly clipped by Roddenberry during TNG, until he died. DS9 was his first " baby" and i really loved that, but some of the credit for that little nugget has to go to Piller and i think the other guy was called Ira steven Behr.

I know it is only my opinion but we need the old writers of the TNG era back on board, and i would gladly swap them for Berman anyday.

  6. Even though it's no longer celebrated or in some cases even remembered, today is the 58th anniversary of the official end to the war in Europe.  I wish to remind all that on this day we remember the sacrifices made by those grandfathers, fathers, uncles and brothers of our families who lived through this horrendous episode of humankind's history.  May we never forget.

    I'm with you on that.

  7. Though FC remains my fave film, i really liked Insurrection.I thought it told a good story well. The morality twist that IS Star Trek was spot on for me. And the part where Bev and Troi( i think) were commenting on their body parts firming up, just cracked me up( and made me think i really need to go there :( )I'd definately give it 8/10

  8. Didn't even have to think about this one.....when Odo kissed Kira was without a doubt my fave. It was such a long time coming, and didn't he give it some oomph!! What a smacker!! It brought a tear to me eye.

    I still haven't seen that kiss. sadness.gifheadshake.gif

You need to see it...so romantic. I can't remember the name of the ep now.....not unusual for me!!!
