  1. I said no, because I know I am not responsible enough for the job. To risk the life of a crew and yourself with every decision you make would make me feel too pressured. I do love pressure situations, but that is way too much, I even think that a captain has more responsibility than a president, beucase a captain has to go into unknown dangers, a president just has a four year term (big woop)

  2. I watched a very interesting chat show last night where they had a pair of twins. One could feel what the other was feling in different rooms. They hooked one up to a polygraph and made the other touch ice and stuff in a different room and be surprised by things. And the other reacted every time! Scientific and true.

How you could construe all of this as being demonic and satanic is pure drivel. In that case is Lwaxana Troi a devil worshipper? Was Illea a deciple od Satan. Hmff. Nonsense. I know that we all have our beliefs, and i am respectful of most. But i KNOW that some are just downright silly. Shall we descend to the depths of the Salan Witch Hunts again.....

As i stated, no one knows anything, and everything is possible.

Twins always have been known to share some sort of 'link', but I believe that this is more emotional than telepathic. I have even known that when two strong people share a bond they know when something is wrong with them in life threating situations almost instantly.

By the way CJLP, when I mean simple-minded, I mean that we are not as advanced to use such a power... not sure if we would be able to handle the great responsibility. Maybe this is why God hasn't allowed us to be telepaths because of the hate we already have for human beings, telepathy would just be turned into the movie Minority Report.

    Human Telepaths vs. Non-Telepaths (thought-crimes)

Also, as I said I am a Christian, but unsure if being a telepath is not demonic. We should not speculate until we fully know, making generalizations and speculations only brings in hate in the world. Would you, CJLP, still be friends if he/she claims to be a telepath? If you said no, then you are not such an open person to accept changes in the world. I am glad you have strong convcitions though.

  3. Hey, just wondering what do you like best about Star Trek Adventures....

The Movies, the TV Series, the Books, the action figures.... etc...

What I like of Star Trek is the dynamic actors and the characters and the storyline... how it can branch off to many storylines and always keep you thinking and guessing. Even the fans worst series, ENT is really good for me, although they do have some questionable series, such as 'The Crossing', the idea behind the episode is good.

  4. Captain Janeway is my favorite character of the Star Trek SAGA. She handles serious situation with ease, and readyiness while knowing how to enjoy herself. She loves exploration and has complications with love, she as real as they come, and I think everyone can really relate to her, beucase she is more of a mother in the show, but still has that father force that you would expect from a captain.

    :look: Bel Ami

  5. I have a feeling that although SG-1 and ST:DS9 has similiarties, they were not ment to have any relation. Every science fiction show seems to have a major cast with at least one ailen species, a leader, and a woman which everyone goes ga, ga, over. SG-1 is a setting all on its own, and DS9 also has major differences as well.....

    :look: Bel Ami

  6. I voted no.  For me, STAR TREK is a series of TV shows, movies, soundtracks, and books.  We have STAR TREK: THE EXPERRIENCE to top it off.  Having a theme park would be going a bit far, don't ya think? :look: Me, I'd rather go to something like Paramount's Carowinds.

OMG, well someone had to spoil it, just kiddin friend. I sort of agree with you, but I think it would be great to have a Theme Park even exclusively for Science Fiction, why stop with Star Trek.... A Whole Freakin' (bad word?, unsure; if so I will edit for the kiddies) World of Science Fiction....

  7. I believe that he could be restarting the plans of the timeship, but personally, it would be interested if this gets incoprorated with ENT's Temporal Cold War. If the timeship gets created again.... wait what if the mysterious guy is Anorx (sp?)!?!? He was the only one that really successfully created a large weapon of mass destruction, to alter the lives of civilization and even VOY. The times might be too seperated to make him the official bad guy, but yet again he could just place himself into stasis so his plans can be perfected in the future. I think it would be great to see him in ENT as the main nemesis, it would stir a deep darkness into the show and make us wonder what he really wants to do with causing such havoc in the 22nd century... or Anorx could of had a son which used the plans for his own purposes. If this is possible they might have a slight chance that we can see a VOY-ENT crossover, if the actual crew is incorporated into the show, we can have a flashback/flashforward memory of the temporal ship of when it was first used.

  8. I believe that we should not speculate the things that we do not know, CJLP, you do have your believes and other people have their believes. What makes people have hatred in this world is the disbelieve in others and controdictions, if we accept people for who they truly are and not make speculations then we will live in a better world. I am a Christian, and believe that humans do not have the ability of being telepathic, but my mind would still be open to the fact that evolution can still happen. I never read in the bible where evolution was false, many people say that it was used to contridict Creation, but God has created a wonderful world to where animals, plants, and humans learn to adapt to their natural surroundings, we also have people with great genious. If many people want to know my true opinion, which obviously I am not making quite clear, I just think that we should wait and see the development of humans, our world, and the universe.

In response to the original post, I believe that there are no human telepaths because it makes us more powerful than we truly are, yes over time we learn how to adapt to changes of this world with the encounter of beings stronger than us, but if Star Trek created human telepaths then it changes what humans truly are, simple-minded. Remeber in all those classic sci-fi films humans were alyways the ones that have lower intellegence, if we suddenly are telepathic doesnt that make us be a little alinged with the aliens?

  9. i think its a bit dodgey that she is promoted within what, 6 months of her 7 year mission and Picards still a Captain after, what? 14 years? Or does he want to stay a captain? ***note: my first atempt at glow!

Note, he might of not had proven yet what it takes to be Admiral, although I think that even that reason is a bit stupid.... Hey, its the ST Universe. Everyone cannot have a happy-ever-after.

  10. I believe that Janeway got promoted becuase of the reasons why everyone else gets promoted, beucase of hard work and dedication. Of course she had to do a lot more extra, by being trapped 70,000 light years in the Delta Quadrant, but should she get promoted just beucase she had to do more work than anyone else? That question is for you to decide on your own, but she had personal strengths and weakness' and even if she didn't get promoted I feel that she felt she had grown spiritually (with Kes and Tuvock), physically (with Away Missions and Aliens), and emotionally (coping with Chokatay and the loss of her fieance). A promotion to Admiral is no real reward, but what is the greater award is the things that she accomplished out of the mission.

    Click for Spoiler:

Poor Equinox... I got the book Equinox and started crying before I even opening the pages.... the tv episode is so emotional and the book is yet again powerful. I wonder what would of happened to him, if he made it through to the Federation.

  11. Excellent post, made me think, but if i had to bet my money would be with Janeway for her skills and training. She kicked a lot of booty with that starfleet training. As the Asians have tought us, self defense is the best offense as well.

  12. I was wondering if you all would like to have a Star Trek Theme park. Imagine, a roller coster that features every space ship, that stared on Star Trek, (only major ones).... also special foods can be done. Things will be sectioned off as sectors, they can have a Klingon Empire, Federation, and Vulcan as major ones to begin and then it minors off into Cardassian Territory, Kazon, etc...

The shops can be located in Ferengi area, beware of the ears!!!

What do yea think, suggestions?!?! Should the world have a Star Trek Theme Park, we already have a museum.

  13. A couple of interviews

    Zap to It

    SciFi Weekly

From this you should note that the producers do consider a 9/11 parallel to exist and have plans to integrate the analogy into the story.

Parallels to current social events were the foundation of TOS and have continued to be part of Trek.

I will give the new mission  a chance but if the worst case scenario comes to pass I will be gone. One concern is with the concept of "vengeance" that they keep blasting at us.  How the Enterprise is out on a vengeance mission.  There is a big difference between defending yourself and seeking vengeance.

Then there's their wonderful little plan to turn Trip into some sort of vengeance demon.

The bottom line is I'm tired of Hollywood preaching down to me...and I got the feeling from one of the articles that ENT may do the same thing....Maybe they only meant that next season would be about more than just the war.  But I got the feeling they may be going for the America is evil mantra and I'm just tired of it.

    edited to shorten

Don't people ever learn that vengence isn't the key to solving problems. Is Trip going to be like Captain Ahab (from Mobey (Please stop me from cursing)), personally I have a lot of suspicisions about the Xindi being the 'ultimate enemy' for ENT, for it was another 'ultimate enemy' who informed our heros about the Xindi being a fearce race.

I think that the next season will be very interesting becuase it might lead to the end of Star Trek saga, if more people watch Smallville against Enterprise. We do have to take notice the many factors that makes a show great or makes it collapse. Smallville and Enterprise running in the same timeslot will GREATLY contrubute to the factor of making Star Trek Francise sucessful as a science fiction television empire.

    ENTERPRISE B) SMALLVILLE

  14. Did a Null Vote, personally I dont care for Archer as a captin, I feel as if they shouldnt of had this show at all. I understand why they did a show before TOS, but they just cannot start de-advancing, when the show was trying to advance more and more per-series. I comprehend it, but it gets on my nerves, I just say photon torpedo the entire seires.

     B)

On the Second Day, Star Trek said TOS, the Third Day, he said, TNG, the Fourth Day, DS9, Fifth Day, VOY... wait I missed a day, let them have ENT on the Sixth day, which was suppose to be the First. B)

  15. Yes, you are correct. Seven of Nine could not go back to being Annika Hansen because she didn't remember who that person was.

Another point:  It would have suited 7 of 9 if she wore a Starfleet Uniform instead of the catsuit. By wearing a Starfleet Uniform, Seven would have been taken more seriously than she actually was.

I agrree with you. Also my faith has been restored in good judgement......as the comments here are certainly different than they were on startrek .com I really didn't understand how anyone could have the logic that a woman who had identified herself as being Borg, and could only remember herself by the name Seven of Nine, could suddenly accept an identity that someone told her that she used to be. :dude:

:dude:I agree Seven of Nine 's memery keeped her from beeing Annika Hansen.

I understand why Seven would want to keep the name Seven as her 'official' name. Number One she was taken from the society she was raised up and forced to change due to the fact that humans find that the Borg are currupt, which is true, but her heart still was with the Borg for several times and it was imensly difficult for her to change her old habbits. If the story was real I think that Seven later on while being on Earth for so long and familar with friends would be later on called, Annika. Names are not just something that people toss around, it implies signifcant meaning to a persons personality and characteristics, going back to Annika would mean that she has fullly accepted her role in human culuture and completely forget about the Borg. In her case her past was Borg and she just wants a little bit of their perfection in her, if she forgets 'Seven' she might also forget that guy in UniMatrix Zero.

    Voyager :dude: Borg
