  1. I agree. If Spiner had continued to play Data, at some point they would have to explain why Data has gained at least 30 pounds since TNG ended through Nemesis.

Well, we do know that they have at least partially (and in canon, no less) explained why Data appears to be a bit older. And that is an ageing program he had activated some time ago(or it may have always been active, no one would know for sure). And that could also encompass the weight gain too, since that often comes with ageing. As much as I like his appearance (meaning the gold skin and yellow eyes), they could have gone along the lines of what the Borg was doing to him and have him appear in later films with flesh colored skin... he could have kept the yellow eyes if he wanted. But that would allow for him to age with the rest of the crew members.... Just like his own mother, who is now an elderly woman and also an android. She was 40+ years YOUNGER when she originally died and her memories transferred to the android body she occupies. That body was designed to age "with a program similar to the one Data has" (I am paraphrasing what was said in "Inheritance", though the wording may be a little off.)

  2. I have not decided on whether or not I will get the collectors edition of this one. I got the Collectors Edition of the Trek film I wanted to get and that was First Contact. I do not think Insurrection was bad, but I think the regular version is fine for me.....unless they have a TON of extras on it. :naughty:

  3. I think I share the same feelings as some of the other members here, in the regards to the fact that maybe if the concerns were discussed (like Odo and Kor37, suggested) we could all get stuff resolved.

I hope that the absence is not a permanent one, Gotabite :naughty: And that maybe we will see you again soon, or at the best, that you could/would stay.

  4. I do not remember the VOY theme much at all, and only got to hear the ENT theme a couple times...definately never heard the mirror theme.

But from the ones I do know. I voted TNG season 3 onward. I liked the Season 1 & 2 as well. And following that would be TOS's and DS9's basically tied.

  5. Congrats on reaching two years, LadyNarana! :yahoo: And I look forward to reading what you have to say on your five year post.

Though you have not posted a lot, I enjoy reading what you have posted. And I guess I have to thank Data, too, about telling you about this site. (He is the one who when I was first new to this site, helped me out with a few problems with the board...since I had never been on a board like this, since ST.com's board was a bit different and had only been there for a couple weeks, and I was new to message boards in general at that point)

  6. Ok, I have a problem with this one - I know I haven't traveled a lot outside the United States (just to the UK a couple of times, and would return there tomorrow if someone would buy my plane ticket!), but I'm only "somewhat well-traveled" everywhere in the US, including my home turf!  I've traveled in every state on the Eastern seaboard, extending almost to the Mississippi, for example.  I think my problem exists because I deliberately avoid cities if I can...

To be honest, I have to agree with that. Yeah it says I am well traveled in a couple areas of the country, and I went to Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia when I was 13.

But I would be more well travelled if they included some other smaller cities and some towns. I have been to a bunch of places beyond what I wrote. And I live on the outskirts of my hometown, mainly because when we first moved here from NY(after being in south Florida, which was where I was born) it was a place I was happiest. I was a toddler at the time, and my parents looked around town and out here in the country area was where I liked best. True nowadays there is a lot of construction going on, but I actually am welcoming the fact that we have a grocery store nearby, and a shopping center, and a few other things. I like avoiding major city areas, at least as much as I possibly can. Smaller cities are not too bad, but really big metropolitan areas.... the less time I can spend in them, the better.

  7. "All Good Things" was awesome ... I think good enough to be on the big screen and a difficult act to follow.

    322151[/snapback]

You know, you are right. AGT probably would have made a good movie.. and a really good starting point to the TNG movies. And if they wanted to pass the torch, they may have been able to include it in the storyline without damaging the quality of AGT

  8. Yil, I didn't know you had a Sony Vaio. It may have the same specs as mine. If it is only a couple years old. A brand new Vaio is a bit pricy though.

Yep, I got it back in September or October last year. When I was away on my music gigs last year, that was how I was accessing the boards. It is only a few years old.

  9. I do not remember the specs for my Sony Vaio, I had gotten it slightly used for $400. It is nothing major, but for what I use it for that works for me. I mainly use it on trips so I have internet access, and a way to work on my reports and other paper work.

  10. How Well Traveled Are You?

*I am only posting the ones I actually got a percentage in.... since the rest were zeroes.

    Your Travel Profile:

You Are Well Traveled in the Northeastern United States (57%)

You Are Well Traveled in the Southern United States (54%)

You Are Somewhat Well Traveled in Eastern Europe (40%)

**these make sense for the well traveled part, on the grounds that I have lived both in the northeast, and in the south.

  11. Never actually grew any bleeding hearts in my gardens, had thought about it though.

My gardens had a bunch of different plants, but my favorites will always be to grow: aloe, roses, bouganvilla, and strawberries. Yeah, :yahoo: I do notice a few themes there, first off with the first three all of them have thorns(which of course, so do my citrus trees that I adore....though sadly they have not produced fruit, flowers, but no fruits). And strawberries are in the rose family, believe it or not.

(Ok...this list is probably not complete, but over the last 22+ years I have lived here in N. Florida we have had: bouganvilla, aloe, strawberries, roses, daffodils, lilies(many varieties, inlcuding Lily of the Valley and Egyptian Lilies-may have been called Lily of the Nile), orchids(though I seem to have a knack for killing those beautiful flowers  ), society garlic(I loved them, the rest of my family did not they said the flowers stunk really bad), morning glories, moon flowers, lavender, grape vines, wisteria, jasmine, honeysuckle, many varieties of cactus, Florida holly(it actually is growing in our yard near our fence and have no clue as how it got there, but it is beautiful and the birds that inhabit the area seem to adore it), blueberries, green and banana peppers, tomatoes, squash, zuchinni, cucumbers, pumpkins, wildflowers, phlox(no not the Trek character, LOL), moss rose, marigolds, pansy, ivy, tulips... not to mention my trees that I received as birthday gifts over the years from my mother or grandmother (I always loved these!!!) Peach, apple, grapefruit, tangerine and orange. Only one to produce fruits so far was one peach tree I had that produced some really sweet fruit about a year or two after I had planted it. It died after one really bad summer, and I had gotten two more peach trees but those damned hurricanes last year did a bang up job on killing those off(along with a good portion of my plants.) We went from being very dry, which damaged a lot of them... to drowning after the third hurricane through here.
