1.

I think the problem is somehow account sensitive, some have problems some don't, some have problems in one area such as avatars and some don't while some have trouble with attachments and others do not. I can upload new avatars but not make attachments.

    331307

  uhh-ok. I had been having a problem with this for a month or two now... I just posted an pic Data had hosted for me (which I thank him once again for doing that for me) because I could not upload one from my computer.

I cannot upload avatars or personal photo. But I think I can still do attachments, I am not sure I have not tried that yet.

I know there are times where I cannot see images (some Sigs, some avatars, and when the ENT banner poll was being run I could not see half of them in that thread but when they were in the rotating banner I could see them most of the times)

  2. I chose other as I would want the ability to fly.

If not that then healing would be next on my list.

Followed by the ability to control either weather or fire (as I am facinated by both).

Telekinesis... though an interesting idea, I would not pick on the grounds that I much prefer to do things myself. And having the ability to sit back and just make things move around with one's mind, that would just encourage laziness IMO. People may start to just use it when it matters, like a life or death situation... and next thing you know, they could decide to use the powers to change the tv channel, wash the dishes and make some popcorn all while they sit on their rears.

  3. The one I voted was More than one of the above... because I really cannot pick just one, I would have then voted Classical but that leaves out so much.

Jazz- a bunch of variations... my personal favorite would be Ragtime, though I do love good Dixieland, Swing, Stride, and Big Band

    Easy listening

New Age- Enya, Loreena McKennit, Clannad(true these could be listed as Celtic but they are commonly put with New Age), Carlos Nakai (like the first ones could be grouped elsewhere but he is placed here often... Native American flute music). Pure Moods series, Some Yanni & John Tesh, Mannheim Steamroller, and a bunch of others

Folk - songs like Both Sides Now (Judy Collins, or Joni Mitchell), Greenfields by Brothers Four, also going into Protest Rock (like "One Tin Soldier" by Coven, "Eve Of Destruction" by Barry McGuire, "War" by Edwin Starr... and the likes). Often times I will see John Denvers music listed here along with Simon & Garfunkle... so I have to mention them too, loved growing up listening to their music.

    Rock

Goth ( I have seen Evanescence listed as this so I am including it)

    Classic Rock

    Hard Rock

Heavy Metal (only some, like Metallica... mainly have heard them when they work together with Trans-Siberian Orchestra whom I like a lot. Plus a few songs I heard when I was hanging out with my best friend. One I liked for a long while though was "Nothing Else Matters")

    Reggae

Comedy (Cletus T. Judd, Wierd Al Yankovic, and others)

    Pop

    Acoustic

    Alternative

Blue Grass (Alison Krauss & Union Station especially, oh and Dolly Parton)

    Blues

Classical (Beethoven, Grieg, Holst, Stravinski, Paganini, Rimsky-Korsakov(sp??), Saint-Saens, Satie, Strauss-all of them, and a whole bunch of others)

Country (Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Darryl Worley, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Lonestar, Brooks & Dunn, Josh Gracin- well when he does that song "Nothing to Lose" anyhow, Phil Vassar and a few others)

    Christian Rock

Foreign(Chinese/Japanese/African/Etcetra) ---Music from my ancestral backgrounds especially (Norwegian, German, Danish, Polish, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, Russian... and then though not foreign, Cree Indian).... oh and outside my ancestries... J-POP (especially from some anime series)!!! Plus Cirque du Soleil's music :yahoo: And I love singing to these as well). one of the groups I could list is Gaelic Storm for the Celtic/Irish music

    R&B

Soundtrack - A bunch of them I could list!

Broadway/Showtunes - especially: Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Sunset Boulevard(at least the tracks I have gotten to hear), Oliver!, Tommy, Jekyll & Hyde, West Side Story, Oklahoma, Wicked the Musical, Grease.. and a bunch of songs from various plays.

  4. mph...I do sincerely hope that you meant mpg!

If hes talking about a 1987 Escort, then I really think he did mean mph... :)

    330400

 ........ *hands on hips* :yahoo: :)

Just kidding, I have a '93 Escort... that was why I reacted the way I did, LOL. Before that I had a '88 Mercury Tracer. Never got 50mpg in either of my cars... around 30-34 in my Escort, and about 25-30 on my Tracer. I do not complain much about the mpg... it works for the amount of driving I do(with dance competitions around the state, it still is not bad at all)

Hybrids, though not the greatest looking cars... I have often thought about looking into one. By the time my current car wears out the hybrids will have come down in price. After all my Tracer was 10yrs old when I got it, and was about 16 years old when I lost it in that car crash. I would have kept that car longer if that guy had not decided to try and flatten it(with me inside the car). :) B)

And since save for the messed up front bumper on my Escort (and idiot backed up into my car while we were at a stop light), I plan to keep that one for a long while.

  5. the other two being Ian Malcolm (Jurassic Park) and Scar (Lion King.)

Ah, yes. Jeff Goldblum and Jeremy Irons. Yes, I can agree on them being good actors as well.

Personally, I am kind of interested in seeing this take on Wonka. I know it is supposed to be more dark and more in tune with what the book was. Though I can agree that Wilder looks a heck of a lot more like Wonka of the candy labels then Depp does. But, my deal with that is.... did they have that label design with the cartoon of Wonka on it BEFORE or AFTER the film??? In other words, was Wonka(cartoon) done to resemble Wilder -or- was Wilder chosen because of his great acting talent and his uncanny resemblance to the cartoon?

But then... this kinda reminds me of the discussion my mother, sister & I were having yesterday. How could Judy Garland's Dorothy Gale from the Wizard of Oz grow up a year or two and become Faruza Balk's Dorothy Gale from the Return to Oz (and yeah we kept the span of time between the films in mind)?

And I agree, UH... he was excellent in Finding Neverland!!

But, back on topic... I am going to set aside my image of Wilder as Wonka when I check out the new version of the film :yahoo:

  6. I voted for Alexander. Though I also thought the kids from Disaster, Gia from Thine Own Self, the kid versions of the crew in Rascals (especially when they get the Ferengi off the ship), and Artim from Insurrection were also all good. Artim though he was kind of a pain in the rear at first, I liked seeing the morph from fearing Data to becoming his friend.

  7. Checking out the boards, before I get ready to head off to dance class. Might go play with my niece before I go as well  . Had to cheer a bit.. she is five months old and she sits up, tries to feed herself, and has her first two teeth in :dude: She loves holding our hands and trying to stand up. If she is sitting down, she can really get to her feet quite well... her mom(my sister) & all of us are so very proud of her!!!! :frusty:

  8. Cloudy, slightly breezy, and some rain... but then that comes with the fact that some of the outermost bands of Arlene are near. She is on her way to the Gulf Coast, and I am on the Atlantic Coast... but the bands are far reaching right now.

  9. Have any of ye ever tried lucid dreaming to avoid your nightmares. It's really quite easy to learn how to do it.

    329803

It is something I have done.. I do not think per se I ever learned how to do it, I just could. And it could turn into an ongoing story.... matter of fact, that is how I started working on a story (never wrote it down more than a few pages once when I was 12, then tried to restart it when I was in my early 20's). This is the story that concerns the character which eventually I would go on to choose as my screenname here :frusty: (well and the variation on it that I use at other boards).

Most recent nightmare I had (people would not see it as bad per se, but it worried me so very much) was when I was in South Florida and it was the night before my competition. I had a nightmare where I was standing onstage with the other competitors and the musician started playing the music for a Reel, and I stepped out when it was my turn and accidentally danced the Light Jig (a completely different dance, timing, rhythym... everything) which essentially would either remove me from the dance in that specific competition or at least make me finish in last with an extremely low score. Well, I panicked, woke up and began practicing the Reel in my hotel room for an hour. Here I am dancing around in my pajamas at about 1 in the morning(I had fallen asleep around 11:30pm), because I was sure it was really going to happen.

I got to the competition and the moment arrived. And just like in my dream we compete the reel first, and like in my dream I was in the first grouping of my division to compete. But I took a deep breath and began, and did the right dance and ended up winning. So I guess that nightmare kind of paid off. I may have finished 6th in the light jig, but the competition was very very close we were all within a couple points of each other. But the one that was in my nightmare... and the fact that it got me so bad I was practicing in the middle of the night ended up being strangely beneficial.

  10. Hey, Bysty!!! Long time no see/read! I am glad to see you around here again

Glad to hear stuff is going well :frusty:

My sister said the same regarding her trip back in her, I think, sophomore or junior year of HS. She was a part of the HS's jazz group and they went on a tour of a few jazz festivals in Europe. She adored her trip, and I think Italy was one of teh ones she raved most about. Her trip was England, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy. She loved it there. She shared pics from her trip and I can agree that I would probably like to go there too (I went to Russia when I was 13 but that was pretty much it for me overseas, so far).

  11. THe ones I definately agree with being on the list are:

    Neil Armstrong

    Susan B. Anthony

    Lucille Ball

    Alexander Graham Bell

    Frederick Douglass

    Amelia Earhert

    Albert Einstein

    Thomas Edison

    Ben Franklin

    Henry Ford

    John Glenn

    Alexander Hamilton

    Thomas Jefferson

    Helen Keller

    Charles Lindbergh

    Abraham Lincoln

    Rosa Parks

    Patton (maybe)

    Nikola Tesla

    Mark Twain

    George Washington

    the Wright Brothers

    and Chuck Yeager

There are a couple others that it is kind of cool to see them on the list, but these listed are the ones I think fit on the list of Greatest American. Scanning through this thread, I saw a few other suggestions and probably post a bit later on which I can definately agree with :frusty:

  12. Steps back onto the bridge of the guys ship.... Well, it did not take long for the boys to mess this place up again. *shakes head and shrugs* oh, well....

Gets ready to beam back to the girls ship, but makes sure to leave the box of cleaning supplies beside the captains chair. Then again, the guys probably will use the stuff to create some sort of explosive device to amuse themselves.... but, there is always the chance they'll pick up and clean up after themselves.

  13. Never have and never will be a Riker fan, pretty much for the same reasons as I am not now nor will I ever be a Kirk fan.... but I voted Frame of Mind as my choice as best Riker Episode, though Schisms was pretty good too. Shades of Grey......... that is my vote for the worst TNG episode ever, so you could figure that I would not choose that one

  14. 1) My sister & I almost had the same birthday(April 19) two years apart. Only she was born early(March 24) and I was born late(May 3).

    2) I was an torch bearer for the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics Games when the flame passed through my town.

    3) I am a competitive Irish dancer (like as in Riverdance)

    4) I am a semi professional musician (clarinet player in my family's band, mainly do Oktoberfest events)

    5) And as a hobby I learned how to sing songs in different languages, mostly Japanese. But can and have learned and sung songs in: Japanese, Spanish, French, Italian, Swedish, Latin, German.

    6) I have a relative that used to work in Mission Control during the Apollo missions.

    7) I collect candles, and have a facination with fire.

    8) My first name was actually a "nickname" my grandmother used for my mom, and my middle name is a portion of my fathers name.

    9) Loves to grow roses, strawberries, aloe, bouganvillia, citrus, apple and peach trees and society garlic (plus a bunch of flowers)

5: Last but not least, I like Pokemon. (Yes I know that may seem a little sad, but hey, I don't realy care
Nothing wrong with that. I actually have played the game for a while. And yeah, I have Emerald version... I got it as a gift for my birthday, actually. :(

jigglypuff.jpg This is the pokemon, I have actually had as a nickname for a little while (Jigglypuff).

Other nicknames: Android & Crash are two others.

  15. Until March 19, 2004 I drove a 1988 Mercury Tracer, but that was destroyed in the car crash I was involved in :assimilated: I loved that car. (I was the middle car in a 3 car pile up, only part of the car that did not sustain much structural damage was right where I was sitting... though I was sent to the hospital in a neck brace and on a backboard, and had to use a cane and/or a wheelchair to get around for almost 2 months afterward.)

Now I have a 1993 Ford Escort LX, I love that car though I will forever miss my Tracer(which was also my first car). And as bad luck would have it, I do not have a front bumper on it right now because some idiot backed into my car while we were waiting at a stop light.... at the very same intersection where the other crash occured. So right now it is a maroon car with a little bit of grey duct tape holding whats left of the bumper, until I can get a replacement one.

  16. Just say Data was caught in the explosion and thrown clear by the shockwave and was found floating in space pretty much intact but damaged, OR he could have been found in pieces floating in space after the explosion and was reassembled using parts from B4.

Then you can have Data back in the next TNG movie.

    328545

I prefer the Q brings Data back storyline myself. That one brief moment of emotion Q gave Data in Deja Q just doesn't seem like enough of a payment for saving Q's life. This way we could have Data, Lore AND Q in a movie.

    328547

That sounds like a decent idea to me :assimilated:

I know my little sister would sure get a kick out of seeing one of her favorites make a return to Trek(Lore).

I also will never really like the idea of B4 becoming Data.. just does not seem right to me. And I agree with another post of yours, saying it is impossible for it to happen like that.

What if Data was beamed out by a Romulan ship a split second before it blew up?

That one sounds plausible too. As does the possibility of him floating in space, after all he had thrown his brother across the cargo bay then transported him into space, only to have Lore reappear a few years later (after the Pakleds had found him and brought him aboard their ship).

  17. Does any one here have nightmare regularly? It seems recently that I have a nightmare every other day. Some are unrealistic, i.e. the dream I had last night where a guy was freaking out because an eye was growing on his right hand. Or realistic nightmares, like the dream I had here:

I used to have a recurring one of my home being on fire and everyone I loved dying in it.. that dream stopped when I reached my preteen years. Strangest thing is, I do not have a concious fear of fire. Matter of fact, I kind of collect candles.. and when a lab experiment required us to set some chemical on fire, I would be the one to volunteer to do it.

I also had one concerning drowning. Now that one was a fear I have when I am awake too... the old saying of muscle weighing more than fat, I really do not have a very high body fat score and sink better than I swim. I do not like being in water more than 8 or 9 feet deep, and only 6 feet deep if the water is cold (I really dislike being in pools, lakes the ocean if the water is cold... well it may be only cool to some people, but to me it would feel like it is freezing.) I have been in deeper water and it bugs me (one place happened to be this swimming/diving training center.. I think the water was about 12 or 14 feet deep. I liked the diving part, had to convince myself not to think of the depth of the water. So that translates into the dreams I have.

Scariest, I have a few that would classify as scary to a lot of people. One being a replay of my car crash a year ago. I was the middle car in a three car pile up(My car was rammed by a large truck that was going at 45mph, I was waiting behind another car at a stoplight)That event scared the heck out of me, and to have it come back in nightmares was just about as bad.

I have also had pain induced nightmares that are pretty bad (the pain is from an injury sustained at work 2 years ago yesterday.. June 2, 2003, that left me with permanent damage and a medical condition). But I have learned to deal with them and the pain & other problems with my arm over the last two years.

  18. I used to be a gymnastics coach, and would handle a large group of kids pretty much my entire workday (going anywhere from 4 kids all the way up to a group of just over 30 ranging from the ages of 4 and 16. Had a toddler class that had 15 children from the ages of 1 1/2 to 3 yrs old). It was my first job(started right after finshing HS and my final competitive season) and had that job for five years, until my injury two years ago. Plus, grew up in the gym essentially so I was always surrounded with other kids in a variety of ages... that and I come from a rather large family(ok not my immediate family, but on my mom's side lots of aunts, uncles, cousins).

I do not think my 5month old niece is a handful, I am one of three, and my mother is one of eight. So I think I could probably raise a family with four or five children, however... if financially I could only support one or two, then that would be all I have(that is if I ever get married, if I never do get married then of course no kids).

  19. I cannot stand the parking at our WalMart.. but there are some good prices and some stuff we can only buy there. Only time I really cannot stand going there, is during the holidays... though that is more the fault of the customers who think they gotta race through the store and ram people to get to stuff faster than the other patrons in there ( I have gotten minorly injured a couple times by people "needing" to hurry through.. bruised ankles one year, actually broke the skin on one of my ankes the next when they rammed me with a cart). I decided to check out all the stores when doing my holiday shopping this past year, and K-Mart here is pretty quiet nearly all year not much going on. Target, though busy, people were not really bad. But the people coming into the Wal-Mart to shop?? Many were absolutely vicious!

Other than that time, they can get pretty bad there when we have a hurricane on its way, then people just get into panic mode. But then that could be said of ANY place of business, when those storms approach (Iwork at a food store, and we are on the beach).

But outside those occasions, it really is not too bad... save for the crappy parking.
