That is sad, UA. I can understand how you feel, and my siblings can too. We often were harassed at school by other kids, and sadly the school system pretty much did not hing about it when we or our mother approached them about it.Each one of the three of us has had at least one experience of coming home with a scratch or a bruise given to us by a fellow student. And in every case, we were not the instigators of the attack. And I had new classmates come up and say hi to me, and I thought to myself.. "hey this person looks really nice, they may make a really cool friend". And just as I introduce myself they freeze and say (and yeah, this is really what had been said to me on at least two different occasions by new classmates) "Oh you are (my real name), they told me if I wanna be cool and liked here, I am not allowed to talk to you and I am supposed to not be friends with you." And on those same occasions, later on in the year I would get a remark made by those same new kids.. "Hey you're not weird like they said you were", "They lied. You are not a freak.", "You're NOT a (insert swearword that starts with "B") like they told me you were, you are a nice person." They never continued on to be friends or even acquaintances of mine, but still.
And former students of mine, they too had issues with bullies. They would come in to class, and tell me often of what bullies in the playground had done to them.. right down to the marks left on them by said bullies(scratches, bruises, stuff thrown in hair or their faces-like sand or mulch, etc.). I told my coworkers(the councelors outside), and I told my students to tell the councelors observing the playground area about what was going on.
I am glad you got that off your chest, UA. Keeping it quiet can be quite painful.

Well, you know what I have said about it in the past, Data.
But, to go ahead and join in on this thread...
I thought it was a bad idea, maybe I feel that way because he was my favorite character. But overall, I did not like the idea of him dying. Actually, in all honesty I did not think that a death was really needed(meaning of the main crew) in the film at all.
Your poll was kinda difficult to answer in a way, because not only did I think it was a bad idea... I cried my eyes out over it. Still to this day, I have to distract myself from watching that section of the film because no matter how good a mood I am in.. that scene will have me in tears.

Yep. I remember that I will be 81 when Halley's comes back through, which means 2061. Because the comet has a 76 year orbit and last came through in 1985-1986.
As for the youngest members, there may be a couple that are younger than 14.. and for the oldest I am not sure. There was an old poll about age groups here, as far as I know. Unless someone wants to start a new one just for kicks.
In my case, my age is no big secret.. as part of my sig is counting down the days left until I am a quarter of a century old.
My mom and I get quite a kick out of that fact... this year I turn 1/4th a century old while she turns 1/2 a century old. :P

I have two action figures that are stored away for right now, and those are of Geordi from Generations, Data from First Contact.
I also have the action figure of Data from Insurrection and the Art Asylum version of him from Nemesis. (THose two are on my shelf)
Actually for a while I had the little action figures of Picard, Data, Lore and Noonian Soong but for the life of me I cannot find them anywhere around the house.... :P I begin to wonder if they had gotten mixed up with the yard sale stuff back a couple years ago.. :P

As for the episode, I remember crying a little bit at the end. Though I cried a bunch more when Lal died in The Offspring.

I love their music :biggrin: . I think we still have the four CD collection of their music here at the house. At one point we did have the LP variation, but the turntable died so we just now have the CDs

Chatting with Data for a little bit
Reading information on Electromagnetic Spectroscopy and IR resonance, which is the subject of one of the lab handouts I have to turn in soon for Organic Chemistry. there is at least 30 pages that I have to read through and a bunch of mini assignments I have to try and get done. (not to mention a make-up lab from when I was ill, and today's lab report on amino acids and proteins)

The reason nobody is in it is because this site rarely pushes or mentions the chatroom. I am in it just about every night between 5:00 pm and 7:30 pm est. Most evenings you can find several people in there. On weekends, it picks up a bit usually around late afternoon or early evening. I'd love it if the word got around and more people came in.
Actually for awhile right after the first version of the chatroom was introduced there was a late night chat. Quite a few people, including Mods and Admins(including some Mods before they gained the title). It was held late Saturday/early Sunday morning at 1AM EST. Sometimes it got quite crowded in the chatroom, and most times it was a blast.
The time was chosen because quite a few of us were on the board at the time, and the site went through an update which would take most of the board offline for about half an hour to an hour. The chat could often last for several hours, I think the latest I ever left was 3:30am.
That is an issue with message board chatrooms. Over at Data's old message board there was a chat room, and every Sat at 10pm EST there was a chat(most of us in it belonged both to that board as well as a couple others that we all attended at least for a while). It was crowded for the first month that the chat room was there, but then attendance dwindled until there was only a couple of us there.
I guess it is a situation where you just gotta see what happens. Maybe chatroom activity will pick up. Chatrooms I guess are just a quirky thing *shrug*

I may update mine, I have not yet decided. My sister's..I will leave it up for her to decide what to do. She may update hers to include a photo of her daughter.

I guess it depends, I voted Geek. Some people do not realize that I am, though in Elem through High school.. that was pretty much the first thing people would call me Geek or NerdGirl. But from Senior year of HS to now, it is I guess not so physically noticeable. Though I never thought I "looked" like a geek from the get go..
Though if you go by that comic up above, then I am a Nerd :biggrin:

Not too big of a fan of hotdogs, but if I do have one.. then ketchup or coleslaw, maybe some cheese on it.
Now burgers.. hmm, depends on what mood I am in. Cheese will be on a burger whenever possible.
But I like to have Ketchup and ranch; or ketchup, honey mustard, onions and lettuce; or sweet and spicy French dressing and onions; or only ketchup.
But my favorite burger of all and I will order it if I want a burger at a resteraunt:
Swiss cheese and mushrooms!! (if I can add sauteed onions, then that is even better!)
