    I loved when Data kissed that girl (or rather, she kissed him) in Ensigns of Command! He had SUCH a priceless look on his face (and I loved the line afterwards: "You really don[t understand humans, do you?" "That is an understatement") B)hearts.gif

    I agree with you....

     

    Although that said same scene was one of a few that I was quite envious of, that girl(Adrian MacKenzie) was so damned lucky! Ok, we can all tell that I would be jealous of Jenna D'Sora as well! They got to kiss Data, and that is just no fair!! B)

    My little sister(my real sister) planned on or is still planning to become an Egyptologist, she has the Book of the Dead, and several books regarding Egypt and Egyptian mythology. I can always ask her, if she knows/heard/read anything on the subject.

     

    Myself I love the ancient Egyptian art and mythology. My favorite mythologies are Greek, Egyptian, Celtic and Scandinavian.

    Yeah, it really was sad when Data died.. A terrible way to end TNG..  :(

    I agree 200% You dont' END a series with someone dying!! And I, for one, do NOT want B4 to become Data because a) it will contradict everything they learned in that movie, B) it will cheapen his death. C) it makes them SEEM like robots, and they can just download they;re life into a back-up file, and d) Data should be either dead or not dead, not some whishy-washy half-half wimpy don't-want=to-make-commitments whats-going-on-now sort of way!!!

    I agree with Beedrill that M of a man ROCKEd for the way it made us think. Data stated many times (or maybe it's jsut that i saw it many times) that the Enterprise was the first place he really made friends, feel like he belonged, felt like he was treated like a PERSON.

     

    I find that so hard to believe sometimes though. It seemed like all the people who were guests on the ship thought he was charming. I think even Q liked him in his own...weird...way.

    How was it that it even took Star Fleet THREE YEARS to confirm that Data was not a threat (they studied he after he was found)

     

    However, I think Data's day showcased just how much emotion our emotionless friend could understand at the point an how there even seemed to be a good bit that he could....IMO....feel.

    Cloning presents a problem...(no I am not for the cloning of humans, and I can bearly tolerate the idea of cloning animals...) the cells that a new being is cloned from are not new, these cells have reached maturity and are begining their slow decay into cell death. When you clone an animal, like the obvious example Dolly, they are essentially given "old" DNA, this will of course limit the life span of a clone (as was Dolly's demise, her offspring are healthy and going to live a normal life span, but not her). This is so since the cell was not at it's first phases of it's cycle. And as we all know(or then again some may not), DNA only can go through X number of replications before too many pieces are missing(fragments of DNA drop off when replication and transcription occur)...and DOlly was too far into the replication cycle, she was essentially born old. This would more than likely be the case of any species being cloned, their offspring would be "normal", born young and have a normal life span.

    That sounds about right....reminds me of my sister...she would change her style for each boyfriend or crush! And she is not teh only one, several of my teammates would do that too....arggh they drive me crazy

    I don't know whay they would either....I just keep this in mind, I am too happy with being myself to ever change for someone else. If they don't like/love me for who I am, then they are not the guy for me!

    lol. 'bags of mostly water'. wasnt that on some tng episode? some flashing light entity said it.

     

    anyways, maybe for the next movie lore will somehow be reactivated (i dont know if thats possible - i dont have any idea of what happened to him in the show. is he still out there?) and he will coerce b4 into being hating the tng crew and they will have to destroy them by the end of the movie. i just want the data things to be over with. i want brent spiner in one more movie, and then cut off all possibilities of him coming back. i love data, but we cant have a tng version of the search for spock.

    As for Data played by someone who was not Brent, well you all know my opinion of Brent - and I don't think anyone else anywhere ever could fill 1/4 of his shoes!! It would ruin Data!

     

    I don't think people mind too much if you call him a machine...I mean, he is! But when you say JUST a machine, it minimalizes him! As for B4, would you kill a mentally disabled person because they weren't as smart as someone else? No, they have just as much of a right to live as anyone else, and so does B4 (It's just a comparison - not meant to offend, or make it seem like I'm offended)

     

    I think that;s about everything....

    I agree with your statements regarding B4 dsbs!!

    Yeah but think about it, bloopers happen and we watch movies for the enjoyment of watching a movie, then we notice/hear about bloopers and we rent and watch it again and again to try and catch them...then we try to catch more...maybe bloopers are accidents and then again maybe they are in-house jokes to get us to watch more carefully.

     

    For example....how many common items could be found on any of the Borg drones? there are stopwatches, blender pieces, computer components, ect. ect...or how about the Morse code messages in any of the blinking lights..
