black is cool, especially considering its a space program anyway. so for those of us who may or may not be able to go, when the tshirt thing comes through will we be able to get one anyway? i sure hope so.

I had thought about that, making shirts available to anyone that wants one. We'd probably make a slight modification to the shirts that aren't at the convention though. What I thought we would do is have "STARTREKFANS.NET ~ Vegas 2004" on one of the sleeves. Maybe for people not attending we would get shirts without that on the sleeve. Though it may turn out cheaper to just get one style printed for all shirts.

I'm not sure I know what you mean. Which drop down menus? On mine everything is the same size. I did notice the Spoiler and a few other functions aren't here and I'll get that fixed tonight when I have time after work.

Because there are a few episodes of TOS that could be speculated Section 31 was really the one giving orders and not Starfleet, I vote yes.

Ok I have a new Skin I've been working on, you'll see some differences from the mian Trekker skin but you'll also recognize a lot too.

If you don't know how to change skins, just go into My Controls and select Skins And Languages down at the bottom left of the screen. The new one is STARTREKFANS.NET 3.0 (For those that didn't like the green it's gone in the new one lol).

I will be there, but I will probably be by myself.  I am thinking of spending the week there as well.  Or if not I will fly on to California to visit my old College Roomates.

 

 

OH, by the way.  I saw something on one of the threads about getting T-Shirts made.  My brother owns a T shirt printing company and if I had the orders a few months in advance I could get them at a discount.  If interested send me some shirt ideas and I can get an estimate for ya.

Right now the idea has been mentioned to use the new Logo I have in my signature as the Shirt logo. I've actually done a second version of the image:

The one above is what I am using for a new skin I am working on. The Logo would go on the back and everyone's screen name would be in the front.

I believe that's what we've come up with so far. In my mind I am picturing these on a Black T-Shirt. Anyone else have any thoughts on that?

Oh ok... lol the way it was worded here on the board is completely different from the way the conversation went in reality. It was more along the lines of "I bet your post count reaches 500+" and she said something along the lines of "Finally I can win one with you... I'll just stop posting!" It was all brought about because I told her I was posting a promotion for someone that posted 500+ posts, she said something like "my post count will never get that high" and the rest is history. Her post count did reach 500+ for a few moments lol but that whole thing was more of an "inside joke, practicle joke" kind of thing. Similar things have taken place many times over the past 4 years. LOL

I actually wasn't the one that closed the topic, it was closed when I posted on it why it was closed.

I want to see a continuation of Carbon Creek made. I know it likely never will be but that story was a great story.

I remember when it came out, it looked amusing but I never saw it.

I remember when I saw this episode for the first time about a year ago.  I went on to the st.com boards a week later and they were all railing against Enterprise for having the Ferengi on and how that loused up the timeline, etc., etc.  When I pointed out that the Ferengi had been to Earth in this DS9 episode and they didn't consider the timeline to be loused up then how could the unnamed Ferengi in Enterprise louse it up. 

 

Any way, it was a great episode.  I hope I can see it again soon.

That's a good point, Quark tried to louse up the timeline on purpose and I never heard anyone complain about that.

The people at ST.COM will complain about anything and everything. I am just glad to be away from there!

I am actually one that doesn't believe in Governments doing this kind of thing. The Government needs to create an environment whereby private industy can come up with the solutions. The Government also needs to regulate those industries to ensure there are no abuses and that everything is done for the benifit of finding a cure but I am one that is for taking the Government out of peoples lives except in cases of "national security".

I told this story in another thread someplace but for me it all started when I was 5 days old on March 7th 1969. I don't remember the episode but I know for a fact that I was in front of the TV and pointed in it's direction so that I was able to watch it with my father.

Same as the first landing on the moon in July of that same year, I was only a couple months old but I was there and in front of the TV and it was made sure that I was looking at the TV.

I don't know anything about child development but I think it's more then coincidence that for those 2 events I was speciffically "shown" the show/event and was held there while it was happening so my brain could take the event in even though I was unable to understand any of it only to grow up and have those 2 things become a major "passion" for me. I've written a research paper on the Apollo program when I was in college and Love anything to do with NASA, and well you all know what I think about Star Trek... lol

Marc Alaimo played Officer Burt Ryan in the DS9 episode "Far Beyond the Stars".

Yep, he played a Cop that beats Benny up and kills Jake for tryin to steal a car I think. Jeffery Combs also plays a human in that episode and is Officer Mulkahey.

The next episode that Benny Russell shows up in is in season 7, episode 2 Shadows and Symbols. In that episode Casey Biggs (Damar) plays a human doctor in Siskos Benny Russell vision.

I would indeed love to come, but since I live in Sweden, it might be difficult.. damn, why can't there be more Trek fans here?!

Yes, I can see where a trip like this would be a MAJOR thing for some that are in other countries. We would LOVE to have you be there so if you think a vacation to the states might be something you would be interested in for that time frame then you can just add the Convention to the vacation planner. I myself have never been to Vegas so I am planning on making my stay last a week, maybe 2 weeks and I'm planning on other activities as well. Like a drive to the Grand Canyon, The Hoover Dam and maybe even a stop in Ca and Az to see friends and family.

So if it's something you might be able to work out then we all would greatly look forward to seeing you there.

I was in Roswell, NM about a year ago, and kept thinking of this episode.  Whatever y'all believe about aliens, SOMETHING happened there that people originally tried to hush up.  Now maybe it's outgrown itself...aliens gone beserk.

 

I loved the outfits/hair, etc in this ep.  And the nurse was great.  Didn't they think that Rom was a woman?  (Something about his "grooming" Nog when he was trying to fix his translator.)  And the comments about irradiating our own atmosphere.

THey thought Rom and Nog were Father/Son and thought Quark might be the Mother :(

I discovered the problem JDigs, you were using the original skin. It's no longer even an option for use with this version of STARTREKFANS.NET, I updated you to the skin STARTREKFANS.NET1.0. It is fully functional, if you would rather use the original skin I can set you back to it but as you see it is no longer being updated and some functions don't work with it.
