Morn....I want to hear him talk!I think I heard him laugh once. I wonder if they used the same person to play him or if it was someone new each time. I'll have to look at the credits.
The bad thing for the actor that played him is that unless an actor talks in a show they only get paid a small amount of money.

Cool, thanks VBG for the tribute and thanks for remembering. Sometimes it makes me sad that we have these people (astronauts and their support teams) accomplishing these really amazing feats and they barely get a nod from the public. Yet the public turns around and treats movie stars and athletes like heroes.I've noticed that at conventions. The "STARS" get all the attention while a real astronaut is stuck off in a corner somewhere. And i have been as guilty as anyone. I am gaining a new respect for these real heros.
If I were ever at a convention and John Young or Buzz Aldrin or any of the other living moon walkers were in the room I wouldn't spend my time with a hollywood star. I'd be talking (trying to anyway) to the moon walker. That would be an awesome experience just to meet one of them, for me anyway.

I'm going to have to re-watch this now, I haven't seen it for some time.

Well he played Worf for 7 years on TNG and for 4 years on DS9 then the movies. In all he's been playing Worf for 16 years now. (1987 to 2003)

Thanks for that, can anyone show me how to store this on my PC????? I will hear it over and over again! The file in the post is a Flash file, you would want the MP3 file. I believe I still have it.

I just looked, we're actually on that list twice (Slipstream) lol
Combined we've had 33 hits from their site so far (That's the "Out" number). I never did put a link on here to get votes though.

I believe he was always meant to be an enlisted man, but they (TPTB) just never really worked out the enlisted ranks until DS9. It doesn't really matter that much, it would have been better if they had paid closer attention to detail though.

Stardate:213507.9How about when the Niners are facing the Vulcans and every body is saying "hey batter batter!" and Worf says"Kill the opposistion!!!!!!!"

I think it's actually "Death to the opposition!" Later, when Nog is trying to tag the Vulcan who never touched home plate and asks what he should do, Worf responds, "Find him and kill him!" Now THAT'S classic.

Yes, that was classic. Worf always had great lines.

I think it was just an oversight by the writers.

Devil In The Dark.
Something I read a while back about that episode, William Shatners father died shortly before this episode was filming (or possibly while it was filming) I think you can see in his close ups in the middle of the episode there is a somberness to him.

I, too, remember that day well. I was glued to the TV and nothing could pull me away. I hung on every image, every sound, every word uttered. Even as a child, I knew I was watching history unfold. Thanks VBG for the tribute. Its great!
I think it was Lollypop that mentioned the poor camera quality, I really do wish they had a good color camera with them. If I recall correctly the color camera broke shortly before launch or something like that. I'll have to look into that again.

I like all the features on the board. I haven't learned to use them all, but I enjoy seeing them on others' posts. The only thing I wish we had in a spell check function. Spelling is not my strong suit, and I have to pull up MSWord, because I hate to see misspellings.
How about it VBG?
I actually have a Spell checker I have been meaning to install. i know I mentioned it to a few people about a month or so ago. I've been trying to work on making our skin and features work on the upgraded Invision software though and just haven't had time. Rest assured though, I have one in the works though.

Maybe you could splice together Nog scenes from the first two seasons to make your own pre-Heart of Stone Nog episode?
Maybe I'll do a Nog tribute film lol

If you want a good Quark-a-thon... read the Millenium Trilogy. He has some awesome scenes.
I've only read a couple of Star Trek books before. I enjoyed them but I would really rather see the show or a movie. I don't have that much time to read and with this site taking a lot of time it's all I can do to read the book I am reading now.

I gave our little community a top rating on both sites. I also wrote a review on the first one. IMO on other board can compare. STARTREKFANS.NET is tops!!!KUDOS VBG!!!

Thanks. The more votes we get on those sites the higher we are on the list and that menas the faster we grow.

TV movies tend to have lower budgets and therefore lower quality.

You can also find them on KaZaa, that's where I got a bunch from.

Terry is always beautiful.
True, but with her hair down in a more natural way she really shows her beauty.
-
I think it was more because of TOS's budget then anything else. They had to keep it simple and the Yes No system was the simplest.
In 23rd Century terms though, maybe it wasn't practical because not everyone he would encounter would know Morse Code. Kind of like us trying to use Egyptian Hieroglyphs, some people know how to read them but it's such an ancient form of writing that not many people can.

Why don't they have a seperate cable network or whatever for those who don't watch much TV? It could be a small-company were you "order" your few TV shows and favorite movies instead of paying for a mainstream entertainment service. VBG, what do you think of that? This, I could work with.Something like that would be great for people that don't watch much, but how many people would that be? Would it be worth the money it would cost to run the network for it to be profitable? If not then I don't see any company doing it. It's all about making money.
Like I've said several times before, I envision this being a combined service of Cable TV/High Speed Internet. Think about it, they already send the internet through the same cable that the TV signal goes through, it's not that far of a jump to combine the signals so that your TV picks up the internet signal and plays the desired show/movie.
Price? Well it likely wouldn't much higher then we pay for Cable Modem access as it is now. And Cable Modem internet access isn't much more then what people pay for AOL. If you have AOL right now you are paying $21.95 a month or something like that, right? SOmething like this, with Internet and TV combined could cause the internet bill to double possibly. So you would get Internet and TV for $40 or $45. That's one possibility I could see.
By the time this would all happen though I'm betting that the cost won't be as big a deal to you as it is now, and I'm betting that the fact that you won't have a physical DVD won't be that big a deal to you either.
I believe the benefits far outweigh any drawbacks. Besides, no matter what TPTB say, they will NEVER stop illegal downloading. People will come up with new ways to do it each time TPTB stop the current method.

Have you ever searched for an old Friend, and gotten No where?I have! I have one of the two that I search for, have a recent address, Wrote a snail mail and got no responce from them.
The second one I know I'll get no where on because for the life of me I can't remember their name or where they were from, just that he was going to New York to get on the Soaps. I talked to him on a plane trip home from my grandfathers home in FLA.
OH! well. Has this ever happen to YOU?

try http://www.ussearch.com/wlcs/index.jsp. With just a little information you should be able to get somewhere.

There were concerns for Apollo 15 (I think it was 15) because of solar flare activity while they were on the surface. They (Space goers) have a degree of protection but not nearly what they need.

I still say it's a rip-off. I'd much rather pay once and OWN the episode and movie, not pay a monthly fee.
Any chance you could "opt" to burn the movies and TV episodes to DVD?
Do you (or does someone in your household) pay for internet access? Is that a rip-off? You don't have an internet "DVD" after you log off do you?
How about the Telephone, do you pay for that? You don't have a CD recording of that once you hang up do you? And Broadcast TV, how many DVD's of that do you have?
It'd be great if we could get DVD's of our favorite shows and movies for free but in life very little is free. The faster that lesson is learned the better.
I am 100% convinced that this is the future of televised entertainment. I am 100% convinced that it is the right direction for the to go in and I am 100% convinced that no matter what point is brought up and no matter how good this kind of service would be you will find some reason to set it aside as a rip off.
Eventually at some point in the future, near or distant DVD's and CD's will be a waste of time money and space. Why have a physical piece of plastic on a shelf that will only collect dust when the exact same content is available using your remote control? We can sit here from now until the system is 100% operational and argue about monthly fees or can you burn DVD's or not but we can't answer those questions right now. For me to say "there will be a $4.95 monthly fee" or a $29.95 monthly fee is only speculation. It might be free it might cost $5000 a month. Who knows. Knowing how business is I envision this replacing the current cable TV and internet systems. Merging the 2 into 1.
Those people that think it is a rip off will just be left out in the cold, just like those people that think Cable TV is a rip off or unneeded. You don't have cable so do you get the Sci-Fi channel on your broadcast TV? No, you don't so you are left out in the cold. Do you get TNN? No, you don't so you are left out in the cold. Those with cable can watch the Trek-A-Thons they put on but you don't have access.
That's how it will be in the future with whatever system is used to put TV shows and Movies out. If you don't get it then you will be shivering out there in the cold.
Bill Gates and other distributors of software and the like are already trying to figure out how they can distribute their products without the expense of the physical media the product is recorded on. It will mean greater profits for them. Look for it to happen in other forms of digital media as well.

When I have the time to devote to it I will have to look into these books.
