  1. Welcome to the wonderful world of Niners! If you haven't seen all of the episodes yet then you are in for a great ride!

The best Star Trek episode ever made on any series is a DS9 episode. Season 6's In The Pale Moonlight. That Episode was just awesome.

You said that the characters have more depth, that's because the story arcs allowed them to develope the characters much more and the eposodic style of TNG only allowed them to touch the surface.

I envy you for the ability to see these episodes for the first time, I myself have seen the entire series 10 times over, and I still love seeing them each time. But to be able to disocver them for the first time would be great.

  2. Jadzia is killed in season 6 episode 26 (last one of the season).

Cassidy Yates (Cassidy Sisko) is a freighter captain that Jake introduced Ben to. They fall in love and eventually get married. (Against the will of the prophets) Cassidy even gets pregnant at one point.

She came on in the 4th or 5th season but was eventually thrown into prison as a member of the Maquis for a while. Then comes back for the remainder of the series.

It was Nog that lost his leg in The Seige of AR-558 (Season 7) great episode.

Oh wow. I missed alot. Lol.

If you like Vic stories watch AR-558 then watch It's Only a Paper Moon. Paper Moon is a great Vic story and you need to watch AR-558 first because it's really part 1 of Paper Moon. In it Nog goes to live in the Holosuite with Vic as part of his recovery from losing his leg. From that episode on Vics stays open 26 hours a day.

  3. Well, I´n not surprise in any way..... Vabeachguy has ever been my superhero.  B)

Sorry, no childhood memories.... does anyone know german songs...? B)

    B)

To explain, this song was the theme to a TV show here in the US back in the 1980's (1981 to 1983) called The Greatest American Hero. I always liked it.

  4. DS9

    TOS/TNG

    ENT

    VOY

It's hard to rank DS9 as the best, even though I do it all the time. DS9 is a much different kind of Star Trek. It's not so neatly packed into 45 minutes of TV and because of that we can get to know the characters much better.

Oh wow, that song brings back a lot of childhood memories. You really are crazy VBG, don't ever change. love-smiley-018.gif

After about a week of 3 hours sleep per day you get a little punchy and next thing you know there's pictures of yourself in red tights on the internet! lmao

I always loved this show and the song was probably one of the best 80's TV themes out there.

  6. The largest problem is that there are so many writers and it's so hard to control what's put into a book that TPTB decided that the only thing that would be considered canon would be what is filmed on TV or Movie.

Could you imagine the headache the writers of a new movie or TV show would have if they had to make sure that they weren't stepping out of canon with one of the books as well as the other shows and movies?

As far as the fact that TOS is no longer in production as a show or movies I don't think would have a factor. The reason would be because if someone wrote a novel for TOS and it's set 5 years after episode 79 and in the book they kill Kirk off and Spock defects to the Romulans what then? It couldn't be canon because we know those things didn't happen and couldn't happen.
