Gee Kor. It sounds like your week was far worse than my last month.

At least you weren't seriously injured. Your wife can get another car.

She can't get another you.

Well, I took the Mustang to the dealership yesterday for a damage assessment. Baltimore County's appraisal of the damage was a joke. They gave me an estimate of just over $400 and included absolutely nothing for my pain and suffering. I knew this would happen. You try to act in good faith and you get screwed over. In retrospect, I definitely should have went to the doctor on the first day and gotten one of those sleazy TV lawyers. I'll know better next time. God, I HATE insurance companies. They take your money in year after year yet the first time you have a claim, they do all they can to get out of it. They are going to get a big surprise when the dealership removes the bumpers from my car and sees the damage inside. That estimate from the county will not even cover the labor involved. What will happen is that the dealership will access the real damage. Then the County will have to send yet another appraiser to the dealership to look at the car again and come to an agreement with the dealership over how much it will cost. I estimate that I may get my car back by maybe.........winter......

Going to be a busy birthday for me. Friday is my busiest day of the week for work so I will be spending most of the day in my warehouse. When I get home, I have to pack for our weekend trip to Atlantic City. I can't wait to get out of town. Its been quite a while since I've had a day off.

The dealership called me yesterday. As I suspected, the bumper on the Mustang needs to be completely replaced. The cost will be in the $1000's, not the paltry $400 that Baltimore County wanted to give me. At least its out of my hands now. The dealership and the County now have to come to an agreement. I'm out of it at this point. Hopefully, they can get this thing straightened out by next week.

Even though it might be out of your hands try and check to see how much a bumper costs. Normally a dealership will charge more than its worth.

I just got back from the mini-vacation from hell! We went to Atlantic City for the weekend and stayed at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino. I now know why they call Atlantic City the "poor mans Vegas". They charge Vegas prices but supply absolute horrendous customer service.

We got off to a late start because my work computer crashed sometime Friday night. So we had to delay leaving until I could get the problem fixed. We finally got on the road about 10:30 am, about 3 hours later than I had planned. The ride up was uneventful. But when we got to the hotel:

1) As soon as we checked in, I wanted to make a dinner reservation in one of the hotel restaurants so that we could catch dinner before the show. I looked around for the hotel directory that every hotel room in America has.....except mine. I don't know if the previous occupant took it as a souveneer or what. So I call down to the desk and ask for a book to be sent up. They said they would send it up right away. 1 hour passes, no book. After about 4 phone calls, I gave up and went down to the front desk. The non-english speaking person behind the front desk had no idea what I was talking about. She's never heard of a hotel directory. The consierge also gave me the same story. He never heard of a hotel directory either but he did manage to get me a dinner reservation. Later on that night, after dinner and the show, we came back to the room to find that the book had finally arrived. The book that everyone told me didn't exist..........

2) I had a lot of cash with me for the casino and wanted to put it in the room safe. The safe was closed. You are supposed to leave the safe open when you check out of the room. So once again, I call the front desk. They said they would send a locksmith up. Once again, after 4-5 phone calls, no locksmith. I gave up and when we went out, I just took the cash with me. Just like with the book, when we returned later that night, the safe was finally open, too late for me to make use of it.

3) Yesterday morning around 7:15 am while we were still sleeping, I heard someone opening our room door. I got up to investigate. I had the chain on the door so nobody could get in. I looked and there was a lady outside. I asked her what she wanted. She told me that she was checking in and that this was the room they had assigned to her. She had a reservation and a room key for my room. I told her to go back downstairs and to tell them that we were still here and we weren't leaving a minute before noon! I called downstairs again and they transferred me to Security at which point I just hung up.

4) After we checked out yesterday,we had some lunch at one of the hotel restaurants. Then the plan was to do a little gambling and then be on our way back home. I went to the blackjack and roulette tables and my wife hit the slots. When it was time to go, my wife was up about $25 in the machine she was playing. She hit the payout button on the machine. Normally when you do that, you get a slip of paper with what you are owed. You take it to a money machine and it gives you the cash. Well, the bell started ringing and the machine said to call and attendant to get a hand printed receipt. Bells were ringing all over the place. I then found out that an entire hour earlier, the computer system in the hotel had crashed and none of the slot machines were paying out! There were people all over the place trying to get their money and hardly any hotel employees taking care of it. We had to wait almost an hour before I went up to a guy writing out a receipt for someone else. I made up a story of having to catch a plane in a half hour and that we had to get out of there. He then came over and gave my wife the receipt. Meanwhile, some other people were saying that the elevators were not working right. They were bouncing or something. Perhaps the same computer problem, I don't know. What infuriated me is that absolutely no announcements were made about any of this. The hotel still allowed people to come in and play their slot machines knowing full well that none of them would pay out. Whats even worse is that no announcement was made about the elevator. People were still going up and down. After we cashed in the receipt we got out of that dump as fast as we could.

This is the service I get after paying over $400 for a room! I hadn't been to Atlantic City in over 20 years and I doubt I'll be going back. I'll fly to Vegas first. The only good thing that happened was that the show was great. Of course, the show was at the Hilton down the street. We saw a group called "Rain". They are a Beatles band that are incredible. I've posted about them before. Even Howard Stern gushed over them and he usually looks for something bad to say.

Anyway, I've never been glad to be back home!

Last night, a friend and I drove down to Virginia to attend "HippieFest". Being an old hippie myself, it was like going back in time. We did a lot of dancing, drinking and smoked a bunch of......er....nevermind about that........Anyway, aside from my fellow members of the "Older than Dirt" club that we have here, I'm sure that most of you probably don't recognize that bands that played there. The bands were: The Turtles, The Rascals, The Zombies, Mitch Ryder, Mountain, Badfinger and Country Joe McDonald. We had a great time. The place was packed and a LOT of people were wearing tie-dye shirts.... :)

The Zombies were there? The Zombies?

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG.........

*swoons *

I love The Zombies! I saw them on a "British Invasion" PBS fundraiser special, and they were wonderful! My '60's crush on Colin Blumstone was renewed! OMG!!! I never saw them live - but you did! OMG!!! I'm so envious! OMG!!!

I saw Country Joe McDonald and the Fish in San Francisco many years ago, and they were so cool...especially when they sang "The 'Fish' Song" (gimme an 'F'...) *wink*

Never saw the others either, but I would have loved to...especially The Zombies! OMG!!! :)

What else was cool about the Zombie's set was that half of them went on to form the band "Argent" which had that huge hit "Hold Your Head Up". They did that song as well with Colin Blumstone singing lead. They were indeed the standout band of the night. They had some cool stories too. Colin was talking about how they recorded their last album at the Abbey Road studios. They were in Studio 3 while the Beatles were in Studio 2 recording Sgt. Pepper.

WOW! I haven't heard that song in a while, but I remember it, so I imagined it being sung by Colin. It sounded pretty good - in my imagination! :)

Did anyone think to record any of the concert? It would sell really well among the Baby Boomers, those of us who are former (or still) hippies, and anyone old enough to be in the Older Than Dirt Club.

And it's sooooo cool that The Zombies were at Abbey Road at the same time The Beatles were!

I went to the foot doctor yesterday about the pain in my foot. My heel feels fine but the side of my foot has been hurting quite a bit. He took an x-ray and it turns out I have tendonitus in my foot. So once again I had to endure a cordozone shot. Hopefully it will work. I'll know in a few days.

I still haven't scheduled the surgery for my shoulder. There is so much stuff going on at work I don't know when I'll have time to get it done!

We are going to try to get away fro a few days this week. We are leaving tomorrow morning for Wildwood, NJ. The wife and kid feel like going to the beach. Me.....I hate the beach. I bring along a beach tent. I sit in there all day with a cooler of beer and something to read.......

And it's sooooo cool that The Zombies were at Abbey Road at the same time The Beatles were!

Are you a Beatles fan as well, BakulaBabe? If so, try and check out this band called "Rain". Its the next best thing to seeing the Beatles live in person!

Here's their website:

I'm sorry to hear about your foot and shoulder problems. Hope you start feeling better soon! And please try to stay off that foot!

Thanks for the tour info! I live in the Los Angeles area, and my husband and I take day trips to San Diego occasionally, so the San Diego date looks promising. We'll definitely look into it!

I've been a Beatles fan since Feb 1964, when I saw them on the Ed Sullivan Show. I missed their first performance, but saw the other two. There was so much screaming that it was almost impossible to hear them. It was all we girls could talk about at school for months! :)

Thanks also for the "Rain" site info! I've heard of them, and heard them in "Birth of The Beatles". Have you seen it? Good movie, and Stephen MacKenna was fantastic as John Lennon!

I saw "Birth Of The Beatles" when it first came out. Rain did all the music for it.

Having a nice time in Wildwood, NJ. Just got back from the beach and we're getting ready to go out to dinner. The hotel here has free wireless internet so I can get on the net anytime I want. Sorry I missed the chat last night but I was still trying to figure out how to set up the wireless connection.

Amazon has a Zombies dvd called "Live At The Bloomsbury Theater". It was recorded just this year. You may want to check it out, BakulaBabe!.... :yahoo:

Good day today. It started out pretty dreary cause it rained all morning. The rain stopped about noon so we went out and rented some jet skis. That was a lot of fun. Afterwards, we hung out at the pool untill dinnertime. After dinner, we saw Weird Al Yankowick at the Wildwood convention center. He played for 2 1/2 hours and he was hilarious! After that, we walked on the boardwalk for awhile and just now got back to the hotel.

Great, Kor on a jet ski.... Everybody outta the water!

OMG! It could be another New Jersey shark disaster. But this time, it's not man-eaters, ...... it's just the sharks jumping onto shore trying to keep out of Kor's way! :yahoo:

Glad you're having a great vacation Kor!

As usual, the instant I get home from vacation, I get swamped! While I was on vacation, 2 of my drivers got themselves arrested and are now in jail until October. In addition, I have three people going on vacation starting this weekend. So now I'm scrambling to find some help. Sheesh..........I need a vacation...........

Once again I've been posting everywhere except in my own log!

- I'm still struggling at work trying to cover vacations and such.

- Two of my vans went down within the last few days so I spent most of today doing auto repair.

- I picked my Dad up from the airport Saturday. He spent the last month in Germany visiting relatives.

- My Mom comes home on Wednesday. She's been in Minnesota the last few weeks visiting my sisters.

- This is Eric's last week of vacation. Next Wednesday, he and my wife will fly to Maine to to get him settled into his new dorm room........which means that I'll be home alone........which means its time to....PARTY ALL THE TIME, PARTY ALL THE TIME, PARTY ALL THE TIIIME!... :roflmao:

- Got a bit of weird news today. Apparently, after 20 years of marriage and 3 kids, my sister-in-law (on my WIFE'S side) has decided to move out and start a new life as a lesbian...... :roflmao::roflmao::rofl: ...How in the world does THAT happen???

Whatever happened to that elderly man who worked for you and got beat up by his crack head girlfriend and ended up in the hospital? :roflmao:
