1. OK, you know what?  This topic is pretty dead without Jeanway and...  Gosh, did I really say that?  ...  well, I know it isn't my turn, but I just had to post this.

Wait a minute! Is that a real special effects person or is that George Carlin???

  2. I would think there would be a system of passports. Also there could be official ship's logs, as mentioned in the TOS Trouble with Tribbles episode, that would show where a ship had travelled. I agree that there would be some kind of interdictive or inspecting agency to check for contraband or perhaps for criminals or those with a virus, etc. through bioscans perhaps.

  3. Good question! I would say Spock, then Khan, then Data. The death of Enterprise is, I agree, very emotional too. I did not like Tasha's death to the oil slick monster!

  4. I don't think Picard was a jerk either. He was uncomfortable with having children on board and how that made the ship vulnerable to casualties thus the saucer seperations at times. He could be gruff and crabby at times but other captains also showed that tendency including the one (I think it was Robby Cox) that replaced him when the cardassians tortured Picard.

  5. :P  :P  :yahoo:

Oh **** it...Trip dies at the end and the episode is a holographic program on the holodeck of the Enterprise-D (yes..."D" as in how DUMB can you get!)which Riker and Troi are observing. The series itself is not a hologram program, but the likelihood of bringing it back after this bull***is practically zero. You may now commense your saber rattling.

    It's NUKING TIME!!!!!!

If the info in the last spoiler is accurate, it would really suck saurkraut. Enterprise deserves better than that.

Thank you for posting this bakulababe. Enterprise does deserve better than this, and so do its fans and Star Trek fans in particular. I am disappointed that Frakes would get involved with this, but my real ire is reserved for B & B. They deserve to rot in a special kind of Hades for this mayhem and meddling.

  6. I still like the first one shown Star Wars A New Hope. It was so great compared to anything else out there. It set up the trilogy, introduced the characters we love, led to great improvements in special effects, and led to a continuing improvement in specials effects and the ways science fictiion can be shot. ESB and ROTJ are my next favorites.

  7. NCAA hoops! Yes! HAve to look at the women's pairings. I assume Tennessee is in again for the women. Minnesata in men's palys an Iowa tem right, can't remember which one. Of course The fighting Ilini are favored by you never know (I am a native of Illinois and now live in Chicago). But I'm glad Iowa (and Minnesata) made the men's tourney, cause I tend to root for all Midwest teams but esp. for Big Ten Teams. I went to Univ of Iowa for My Library Science degree. Go Hawkeyes! Go Big Ten!

  8. You should come to a complete stop every time! In Chicagi you need to because lot's of driver's don't. I also call rolling stop's California Driver stops! :P

But really, nobody's life is worth getting there on time by speeding or running stop signs or traffic signals. ;)

  9. No. Scifi is not getting any less saturated with more series. Trek needs to stand firm and fight to keep it's place NOW rather than run away and hide while the newcomers steal all the best new ideas. Things WON'T be any easier in 5 years. MORE TREK NOW!

    258869

I don't think oversaturation is the problem.  Trek has changed - and doing so lost some people who liked it the way it was.  A five year hiatus won't get those people back.  They either need to tighten up their plots to get the old fans back or advertise to the new target base to attract those viewers.

Trek does need to stand firm, change networks, (Sci fi would be ideal) and tweak its plots and advertising. VOY and ENT have had poor time slots and so so promotion. Do it right,... and they will come! (and come back to Trek too!)

  10. I read some threads and not make posts. Sometimes you need to read them to know Exactly what they are about. Sometimes I may not have a strong opinion or others have already said what I think. Was there a category - make a post just to post? Seems like that can ocassionaly happen too. :P

  11. I moved away from my hometown many years ago. In some ways I would like to go back but really what I want is that sense of community, which no longer exists in my hometown as it once did. I lived out in the country and most of hte neighbors are gone and the nearest town population around 1500 is quite different now. I also crave an area with less people, but friendly people. Yes the near impossible dream! :P

It depends on where my hand is, if it's on the keyboard then no I use enter, if it's on the mouse then yes.

    303831

Yup I know i use it. Not all the time, but sometimes

I did answer this question seriously.. and I am truly sorry, maybe it is me being a little silly right now but everytime I see the title of this thread.
    Do you go?

I think: "Yeah of course I go, don't you go. And when you gotta go you gotta go."

    :P I said I was sorrry :blush 2:

Anyways, like I said I usually hit enter. But someplaces make it so you HAVE to hit the "Go" button.

    306388

I agree with Alterego and Unadopted Angelic. It depends. And speaking of Depends, I had the same initial thought as Yillara ;) Sorry! Just my sense, or lack of sense, of Humor!

  13. I wouldn't mind living someplace cold, farther north.  Maybe I could go to Canada.

I would love to live Out in the country where i have losts of room and not have to worry about meeting people.

    310314

When I go on vacation I often go to Canada. I love Banff, Jasper, and Yoho National Parks and Victoria, Monteal, Quebec City and St. Johns were great. I really liked Newfoundland too.

I grew up in the country and would like to return. Have lived in Chicago for over twenty years and need to escape the noise, crowds and congestion ofn the streets. Countryside is unfortunately disappearing fast in the US. Suburbs are expanding out, eating up farmland. Vacationed briefly in Florida and they are building everywhere around Orlando and even Winter Haven. So would want to stake out land Way Out in the country, cause it could get developed soon.

  14. Just in time to set up an audience for the May sweeps.  Who said they were stupid at Spike?  This is typical programming.  I'll bet come june, there will be something else occupying that time slot again.  The suits sure know how to work us.

    310349

I think you are right on target xenexian! Pull us in, then alternative programming after sweeps. Or am I just being cynical? :P Have they ever done a top ten TNG marathon or best single episode arc (two at atime for a couple months)? That would be great!

  15. Tough choice. Although I voted for LOTR, becuse of the aforementioned teasing about T'Pol's ears, Galaxy Quest, Back to the Future or Stargate would all be fun! What about Lost in Space? No, wait, that's for Voyager's Movie Night. :P
