    I too thought it was bittersweet when Covingtion gave the collective to Seven, and I felt sorry for her with what happened in her past and the Hand.

     

    Everything in that book was just so well done and planned out, they held every bit of infromation from you as long as they could without ruininthe book. I really can't put into words how fun it was to read.

     

    One scene in there that I really loved, was when the Janeway and company were on Voyager and literatly hunting down the people who were working there. Janeway and Chakotay were in the corridor and the Janeway delivered a blow that knocked the poor crewman off balance just in time for Chakotay to knock him out cold. Then she made a quip about training against Klingons...And it took a second for the comment to register in Chakotays mind :laugh:

    in the wrath of khan, right after the kobayashi maru simulator, kirk and spock walk by a guy vacuuming the floor.

    Really, or are you joking. :laugh: :lol:

    She's not joking. I have TWOK Director's Edition DVD and during the audio commentary by Nick Meyer he discusses that scene. He says that he told William Shatner to ignore the guy vacuuming because it's something that happens every day, and not to be noticed. But instead, Shatner turns around and looks right at the guy while he and Nimoy are walking past him. Check out the DVD, you'll see it.

    Okay, now I have to watch that again!

    Troi on the Enterprise NCC-1701:

     

    (Troi enters the bridge)

    Troi: "Captain, I just got your hail.  You wanted to see me?"

    Kirk: "Counselor, your out of uniform!  Now go back to your quarters

            and put on that mini skirt!"

    Troi: "Sorry, sir, I..." (her eyes suddenly widen) "Oh! You..you PIG!!"

    (Troi slaps Kirk-hard-across the face and storms off the bridge)

    Kirk: "Kirk to sick bay"

    McCoy: (voice heard through communicator) "Sick bay. McCoy here."

    Kirk:  "Bones, I need you to mix me up a serum which will prevent that

          Betazoid babe from reading my mind!"

    LOL!

    I think I'd be devistated at first, but in a situation like that, people have a tendancy to adapt and adjust to their settings. With so many repairs needing to be done, and being under attack on Voyager, I think I'd be too busy to worry excesivly about home untill we'd been lost for a while. :)

    The way they lead up to the whole Royal Protocol and the new Borg Queen...I never suspected Covington until halfway through the second book!! :)

     

    I also enjoyed watching as Golden fleshed out what had happend with The Hand, I almost felt sorry for Covington.

    In the last few pages, Chakotay decides to stay in Star Feet and Janeway kind of smiles and says, "In that case, I've been authorized to offer you a command."

    "What ship?"

    She then pauses and waits as long as is kind before saying "Voyager"

    And then they end the book. :)

    I couldn't remember if a Mrs. Q had made an appearance before.  There had to be a Mrs. because Q has a son.

     

    I was thinking that since MBR portrayed Lwaxanna Troi as annoying, she could be an annoying Mrs. Q. And Q (John de Lancie) is already annoying. Get them together and they could annoy the hell out of the NX-01 crew!
