  1. 3. An interesting look into the mind of a rapist, though they didn't really focus well on how rape is more about power than it is about the sick sexual (or telepathic/mental in this case) pleasure. Nice detective work by Data on this one though.

  2. I either gave this one a 3 or a 5. I'm pretty sure I gave it a 5. I remember I loved the "nature vs. nurture" dialectic of this episode. And hey! Wesley gets hit in the face with food. Can't hate that!

  3. Through no fault of Nicole DeBoer, this episode gets a 2 from me. Well of COURSE the Tigen family had to be dysfunctional, putting their business and money ahead of each other. Miles' involvement in this one is what really saved this one. Really, that, and the opening with Bashir and Sisko, and how that joke keeps coming back, kept this from being a one.

  4. 3. Honestly, by now, I'm hoping Dukat gets killed off eventually. He's so far out there (by design) that he's not even worth watching anymore. But an okay look into the other side of the coin in Bajoran religion.

  5. 5. I really love how well the battle scene was both choreographed/blocked, AND scored. The music really added to and lifted it. The guest actors were terrific too. Wonderfully done.

  6. Despite Kor having a heroic sendoff, this episode really didn't do justice to the legend of Kor, the Dahar master, or even Kor the Dakar Hamster, for that matter. And super predictable, in a bad way. 2.

  7. 4. I really didn't like them bringing back the genetically engineered folks. They were so awesome in their last episode, that I felt bringing them back was a big risk that they wouldn't be able to strike twice. And I was partially right. This wasn't as great, but it was still pretty good trying to fix Sarina. And I think her being unable to return Bashir's affections both made sense and didn't make sense. I think Sarina would have had a hero/knight in shining armor kind of feeling for Julian, but her inability to understand love made a great deal of sense too. Nice touch with her having trouble speaking at first too. Not as good as their last episode, but they did a great job a second time.

  8. I gotta admit, I didn't like this one all that much. Sure, they had to have an episode to make Ezri Dax fit in in her own special way, but having Garak crack up didn't sit well with me. And the dialogue with Worf just felt forced. A big meh and a 2.

  9. 4. At first, I didn't understand why they brought the Benny Russell bit back. I thought that cheapened the "Far Beyond The Stars" episode to bring it back, but when the Prophet/Sarah explained it, I thought...brilliant. I'm not too proud to admit I was wrong about that one at first. And yes, the Klingons were awesome. I loved the bar scene before that... Miles says he's coming along, and Julian says, "Miles, I'm touched." And Quark responds with, "I think you're both touched." Classic comedy line right there. Again, could have done without the Mexican standoff between Bajorans and Romulans.

  10. 3. Brooks really carried the episode. I thought the standoff with the Romulans was pretty unnecessary in this and the next episode. But yeah, Avery, bravo, you carried this one.

  11. 4. I like how Dukat comes to the conclusion that victory in the Alpha Quadrant required Bajoran deicide. The death scene was okay. Great acting from Avery Brooks in dealing with Jadzia's death and the loss of communication with the Prophets. Very realistically done, and Kira seeing that the baseball was gone... nice callback to when the Cardassians temporarily reclaimed DS9. Really a good episode.

  12. 4. It would have been a 5, if they hadn't pulled the lame time-twistin' atmosphere bit. It would have been just fine if they just weren't in time. Seriously, they took from it all with that. And Quark and Odo was ok, too.

  13. 4. I gotta say, I wouldn't mind going caveman with 18 yo Molly O'Brien. But a really good episode. Watching the re-socialization of their child, the actions they took as concerned parents, all well-executed.

  14. 4. Really good stuff, but I think they pushed Watters ambition a little too far... to almost MacBeth proportions. And locking up Jake was just going too far, beyond believability.

  15. Everything about this episode was good except that it should have been in Season 7, not 6. We all know that Kai Winn flooded the Promenade with the chronitons because she knew they were gonna be picked up for another season. Nyuk nyuk nyuk. Nice choice of Jake to house the Pah-wraith though. GREAT twist. Did NOT see that one coming. 4.

  16. 4. Here we are introduced to Vic Fontaine, the self-aware hologram, played by the incredibly talented James Darren. He's a phenomenal actor and a really good singer. During the '60's he was sadly relegated to novelty songs about tragedy for the protagonist. But check out some of his other songs, including "Just Think Of Tonight," a real rocker; and "All" from the movie Run For Your Wife, a quite nice love song (but not the slow kind); and "Gotta Have Love." Plus, about five or six years back, he put out a Vic Fontaine type of album called Thanks For The Memories, which I recommend. Btw, VaBeachGuy, you might want to get a better pic of Vic. The avatar he uses looks more like Tony Bennett than James Darren.

The story involving Odo was nicely done and relatable. I thought Odo looked a little bit like a Muppet, hamming it up as the piano player for Vic. But finally, Odo and Kira get together, thus ending Odo's agony, as well as the audience's in watching him pine for her but not have the cajones to act on it.

  17. 5. Nice Batman reference in the episode title. Very dark episode, and well done. Nice camerawork/direction in the scenes in Sisko's quarters. And the ending... delete log entry. awesome.
