but it sounds like a good idea, something happens that shouldnt happen cause of Future Guy and in comes the U.S.S. Relativity with Seven of Nine and Janeway (Well Janeway might show up, Braxton said it himself, she loves to stick her nose in temporal stuff) to fix the problemSounds like a good idea as long as it's well written.

Happy Birthday Dominic Keeting, my favorite Armory Officer.
Keep blowing things up !!!

Interesting.
I have often wondered if there was only one Borg Queen or one for each Borg ship (like a queen bee for each hive).

I voted "its my favorite show."
I have every episode on tape edited so there are no commercials, and I watch every Wednesday and Sunday nights, even if its a rerun.
Would you call me a dedicated fan?

You're quite welcome!
For those that may be interested and don't have a print copy of the Articles of Federation, they can be found at:
http://www.clearlight.com/~sfc/documents/aof.html
which is on the United Federation of Planets home page:

That's cool Tank. I love finding little treasures like that.

Thanks Indy. The only Hallmark ornament I have is the Enterprise NX-01 form last year. I have it displayed in my den at home.

This reminds me of the scene in Fallen Hero when Cmdr Tucker questions the Vulcan Ambassador's age. Let's just say I'm old enough he'd know not to ask.Same for me.

While researching the answer to another post I did a good bit of reading the Articles of Federation.
According to the Articles:
Article 45
In order to enable the United Federation to take urgent military measures, all members so capable, shall assign contingents of their armed forces to Star Fleet to be employed as a single peace-keeping force of the United Federation of Planets. All contingents so assigned, and for the duration of their assignment, shall hold full faith and loyalty to the United Federation of Planets and the protection of the purposes and principles of these articles of Federation;
Article 47
1. There shall be established within Star Fleet a Military Staff Committee to advise, and assist the Federation Council on all matters relating to the United Federation's military requirements for maintaining interplanetary peace and security;
3. The Military Staff Committee, with the authorization of the Federation council, shall establish a Star Fleet as the armed, peace-keeping, forces of the United Federation of Planets. It shall be responsible for the establishment and maintenance of all facilities of Star Fleet, including armed ships, starbases, and training facilities;
Chapter VIII: Star Fleet
Article 52
1. There is established a Star Fleet as the armed peace-keeping forces of the United Federation of Planets. It shall initially be comprised of contingents assigned to it by members of the United Federation under Article 43 until such time as facilities, recruitment, and training obviates the necessity of drawing upon the armament of any member, except as provided in Article 49;
2. The operations and actions of Star Fleet shall at all times be under the direct cognizance of the Federation Council and the Military Staff Committee which shall also prepare and approve the budget for Star Fleet operations;
Although Starfleet may not technically be a military force, it will serve that function under the Articles of Federation. It seems that the 22nd century Starfleet is moving in that direction.

I consulted the Articles of Federation in My Star Fleet Technical Manual by Franz Joseph, 1975 and the online version found at http://www.clearlight.com/~sfc/documents/aof.html.
Chapter V: The Federation Council
Article 23: Composition
1. The Federation Council shall consist of eleven (11) members of the united Federation. The United Nations of the planet Earth, the Planetary Confederation of 40 Eridani, the United Planets of 61 Cygni, the Star Empire of Epsilon Indii, and the Alpha Centauri Concordium of Planets shall be permanent members of the Federation Council. The Supreme Assembly shall elect six (6) other members of the united Federation to be non-permanent members of the Federation Council, due regard being especially paid, in the first instance, to the contribution of the members to the United Federation to the maintenance of interplanetary peace and security and to the other purposes of the Federation, and also to equitable geo-galactic distribution;
Also:
Chapter XVIII: Ratification and Signature
Article 109
3. These Articles of Federation shall come into full force upon the deposit of the ratifications by the United Nations of the Planet Earth, the Planetary Confederation of 40 Eridani, the United Planets of 61 Cygni, the Star Empire of Epsilon Indii, the Alpha Centauri Concordium of Planets, and by a majority of the other signatory social systems. A protocol of the ratifications deposited shall thereupon be drawn up by the government of the United Nations which shall communicate copies thereof to all the signatory governments;
Since these 5 governments, the United Nations of the Planet Earth, the Planetary Confederation of 40 Eridani (Vulcan), the United Planets of 61 Cygni (Tellar), the Star Empire of Epsilon Indii (Andor), the Alpha Centauri Concordium of Planets, are listed as permanent members of the Council, and are mentioned again in the ratification, my conclusion is that they were the founding members.
Hope this helps.

VBG,
This is a wonderful message board. I thoroughly enjoy reading everyone's posts. I like all the features you have on it are wonderful. I also like the ranks for the number of posts made. I'm sure it has encouraged many people to post numerous times so they can receive a promotion.
What I love most about this board is the friendly atmosphere on the board. Many of the posts are intelligent and insightful. Others are humorous and witty. Still others are helpful. People feel free to express their opinions on subjects without fear of being ridiculed. They discuss their differences -- they don't argue or bash.
VBG, you have done a wonderful job with this board, and have done a great service to all of Trekdom!
Live long and prosper!
Q’plagh!
:lol: B) :P B)
