  1. theres a trick to using kazaa....i use kazaa lite and when i do a search for a specific episode..i click on "auto search more" and leave it searching so that in a matter of an hour it will have plowed through all 50 million users and start a download from as many as possible..it will give u a rough download speed of 50 to 150 kbps depending on the popularity of the show... ie..endgame or drone wil be quicker than say any of the fair haven episodes..

  2. wow... i totally concur.... recently i had a lot of time on my hands because of summer break..but literall in a month i watched all seven seasons which i downloaded off of kazaa... i must admit...i watched it periodically, but to have a true appreciation of ds9, u have to watch it from season1 epsiode1 to season 7 episode 26....i suppose the easiest way to put it is that ds9 is like a space soap opera..and u cant miss one episode because each episode builds on all the charecters in plot line... i probably had a initial dislike because i did watch random episodes from time to time...u can get away with that with TNG and voyager but definitely not with ds9....next to TNG, im gonna have to replace voyager with my favorite ST series...although intrepid class still rocks defiant class

  3. hmmm while locutus and seven have experience within the borg conciousness, its only logical that since janeway has the most experience with combatting the borg, she could be an admiral assigned to anti-borg defensive strategy of the federation. second, next to kirk, janeway has the destinction of having the most first-contacts under her belt, so she could be some specialist in first contact or conflict resolutions within the federation...i dont she is going to end up being some, pencil pusher admiral with a cushy job, but in fact an admiral who will lead from the front bringing around great change in the star fleet, in both defensive and exploratory fields

  4. Anyone know any good bit torrent sites for downloading ds9 episodes??? there arent too many people sharing on kazaa these days with the music recording company scare....i have scifiepz which is good for enterprise, but i have yet to find a good source for the other 3 series...

    thx

  5. ok here goes....

    the current situation

    Click for Spoiler:

where we left of in part I, seven and icheb are in prison due to a outbreak of a borg virus on earth..the doc is in prison due to a revolt of the photonics due to the release of "photons be free" the remainder of the crew have been disregarded and have not been reassigned due to the fact that the feds are passing the rumor that the voyager crew brought back the virus to earth..intentional or not....

    ladies...brace your 'selves

    Click for Spoiler:

our mysterious crew transfer from the 1701-e to the voyager senior staff is none other than.......

    Click for Spoiler:

DATA! it seems because of the decision rendered on the "measure of a man" he is uniquely qualified to defend the doctors position as a artificial life form and as such, janeway requested his transfer from Picard as a favor...further, with the borg outbreak, he is un-borifacatable (is that a word??) and will be an asset to the voyager crew as they are planning a rescue mission to free their comrades....

    the plot

    Click for Spoiler:

ok...so we are lead through all these twist and turns...and it is revealed that there is indeed a conspiracy regarding the borg situation...we are lead to believe that admiral Montgomery(warrior of the dominion war) is behind this little conspiracy...further conspiracies are being perpetuated by the head of starfleet intelligence, admiral covington...needless to say..we are not sure, who is and what is going on...all we know is that the borg virus is spreading and the most qualified people to combat the virus are locked in prison...

    the showdown...

    Click for Spoiler:

so time is running out and more and more people turning into borg...janeway decides to act out and rescue her comrades in prison....with the help of some intersting tweakings to holo-technology, the senior staff is able to smuggle seven and icheb out of prison while downloading the doc to mr.data's noggin.... they then proceed to sneak onto voyager, to carry out stage two of their plan...to allow the near death, icheb and seven to regenerate in their alcoves....needless to say, with starfleet scientists aboard, they're running around jeffires tubes and sneaking around under false pretenses....it is then, that between the doc, seven, and data, the true nature of the borg threat is revealed..

One of the most debated of all topics is finally answered!

    Click for Spoiler:

after the borg defeat in in 2200's(first contact and enterprise) it seems that on the borg debree there was in fact micro-nanoprobes that act as a dormant virus in the bloodstream...any contact with the debree causes a dormant infection of the virus.....the virus are too remain dormant untill activated by non-other than ...the borg queen...now as u can recall, following endgame as well as ST-VIII the borg queen was killed....we are revealed that in the event of the death of the queen, a specific nanoprobe is instructed to "infect" a host and institute the "royal protocol" creating a new queen....starfleet scientists have found this out and under deep cover, a group of three and a mark1-emh, have conspired to make a queen on the planet earth....our antagonist, admiral covington is the newest queen!

    finale

    Click for Spoiler:

now that they know where the queen is at (starfleet intel HQ,) the senior staff, go on a assault of the HQ for the queen....through shear luck, data is able to outwit the underdeveloped (not mature) queen/admiral covington through the computers and the assault team is able to reach the queens lair...now data, as fast as he is, is unable to keep up with the queen, so seven reluctantly reconnects with the collective and she is able to ....... take the collective over as queen... she takes control of the collective and covington is killed....seven then reluctantly dissolves the collective and people emerge from the collective with their indviduality intact....

    thats all folks...

    Click for Spoiler:

so now that the dust has settled, the borg conspiracy is covered up to prevent mass hysteria...seven and the doc are transferred to a starfleet "think" tank..icheb goes back to the academy....tuvok and janeway co-teach a class at the academy....the paris'es move to a klingon monastery so that blanna can study and meditate...harry kim and libby are settling down....and chakotay stays with starfleet and is given his own command ....ncc-74656, uss. voyager

  6. as you might have heard....homecoming part II/Farther Shore, comes out july 1st....so im off to barnes and nobles to find out once and for all what the heck happenes to our great crew after 7 years in the delta quadrant....I would be most happy to give a synopis during and after completing the book.... jdigs and beedrill, i hope to have your thoughts as well..

  7. I'll get the ball rolling, what do you all think of the;

    Future uniforms

    Character play

    Utopia planeutia shipyard shots

    Future phaser

    The general storyline

    The out of 10 rating

    etc

-uniforms were cool...i noticed that they still use the same pin configuration that star fleet uses in the 24th century...

-it was kinda cool to see the charecters replay themselves from earlier time...janeway with the marge simpson beehive and i like seven in the uniform with no prosthetics...wow..

-utopia planetia..well i was playin video games at the time so i missed it...

-the phasers i noticed looked like the disruptors from the TNG episode where data was kidnapped by a art dealer who had some special super-painful disruptors..

-story line was cool...i was thinking that the relativity may be the only crossover to enterprise besides the borg....due to the temporal cold war and such...

    -8/10

  8. i got a link at st.com boards.... u know what i hated about st.com ..i always had the hardest time tryin to post ...it would give me a wierd error message and i would have to reset my settings to be able to post..i dunno maybe it was just me...

  9. im sooo glad that this did not turn into another st.com..... people here have been great and there is no doubt that if that "element" came to the boards...our omnipotent moderators and admins would boot the spammers faster than .... (insert humorous simile here - late and cant think)

  10. I voted no.

I believe pluto is too similar to other Kuiper Belt objects like the recently discovered Quaoar.  It is much morre similar to the objects in the Kuiper Belt than the other outer planets.  It only stands to reason that it is not a true planet.

i understand that all the planets in the solar system have derivations of roman mythological gods..but...Quaoar...sounds like someone with a facination with klingon folklore

  11. Alright, I finished the book!  Yay!  I'm almost sorry I did because I was getting into it.  And just when everything's building up... it ends.  *sigh*  So...

    Click for Spoiler:

Who do you think the guy from Picard's crew is?  I'm terrible at this sort of predicting thing.  ^-^;;  Have you liked the book?  Do you think it portrays the characters well?  I think it does.  I can just see them going through the actions and I can hear them speaking.  I really like the story so far.

We know Voyager isn't responsible for this Borg threat.  How could it be?  So who do you think is?  Well, the Borg, obviously, but someone would've noticed a cube orbiting Earth and pollinating it with a virus.

What do you think of this Montgomery guy?  Do you think he's really the antagonist?  I don't think so.  He certainly does act like it, and the text is playing him up to be the bad guy, but I don't think he is.  Usually when somebody is portrayed as a bad guy, and it looks like the author really wants you to believe that somebody is evil, it turns out to be somebody else, entirely.

I have to say one more thing.  Icheb's got some pretty mean friends.  It was just terrible reading that part about them beating on him.  I felt so bad for him.  I really like Icheb.  Do you think he'll ever be friends with them again, or will he forgive them.  I hope he finds some new friends.  They didn't even believe him when he said he didn't know anything about what was going on.  Those aren't friends.

So, everyone, this was a great book!  It leaves you hanging, but it's worth the read!

well beedrill this is what i think...

    Click for Spoiler:

i think we may see the return of the son of soong as he is unborgable..maybe he can mediate as an impartial scientist at starfleet command...

regarding the borg threat, i think i know what happens... it was total coincidence, but i was watching an episode of voyager while i was reading the book... dark frontier, in which the queen recaptures seven so that she can assist the borg with a mutagenic virus that will facilitate assimilation of humanity....seven replies something of the sort that it will take several years for the virus to take affect..that was around season 5 or 6 as i recall and that fits perfectly into the homecoming timeline as well as the charecteristics of the infection....3

regarding montgomery...i just think hes a hard as nails guy but i dont think hes bad...hes like a patton or a mccarthur...mean mofo in charge..but still has the best interests of the federation in mind.

regarding icheb...well i think its the fact that the "rumor" that the voyager crew is assisiting the borg with the assimilation of earth brought up all lot of bad blood between the families of the assimilated and icheb/seven.

but i agree with beedrill...its a good book and i seriously wouldnt be surprised if they made it into a movie..although its now impossible as it is placed after insurrection and before nemesis
