  1. Greetings to you Captain I think a great discussion could center around season seven of Voyager. I must tell you that while I did enjoy the story line in Unimatrix Zero and how it completed Part I from the former season; this was not my favorite episode. One of the flaws I thought in that episode was how Captain Janeway, B'Elanna and Tuvok's borg implants were able to be removed instataneously. As I recall when Seven of Nine came on board she had to undergo operations and other serious medical procedures before she could even begin to regain her humanity. It was a very major transformation for her. So I just didn;t make sense that it was so differnent for The Captain, B'Elanna and Tuvok........just my opinion.

  2. I enjoyed both characters equally.  I only wish Kes could have remained onboard as a recurring character.  They could have given her some kind of special project in the lower decks...  or she could have "returned" once in a while to help them out, teach them something, or just hang with her friends and get caught up in an adventure.

Instead, they had allways planned on making her into a villian.  At least she remebered her true self in the end.  Granted, in real life, it would'a taken a lot more, but this was a 45 min episode. However, they should have made "Fury" a 2-parter!

 I agree with you each, personality brought character to the series in such unique ways. I also did not like the story line in "FURY" . Kes had never been a bad character. When she left Voyager, she had no hostile feelings toward anyone on the ship. In fact she put Voyager 10 light years closer to home, as a part of her last interaction with the ship. So I just "didn't get it" when she returned in "FURY" with all of the hostility and paranoia towards her former crew members. At any rate as you can see I was fond of both Kes and Seven. B)

  3. It's just, the way I see it...  if you're a Trekkie, that means you love to watch Star Trek, right?  Well, once the series ends, it's over.  Then we have a new series.  When the fans don't jump on to that new series, to me, that means they've lost interrest in Trek and only like the series they've allready seen.

That's why I feel Star Trek is loosing fans by the fans not watching ENT.

    Make sense?

:look: Yes Commander, I would agree that there are those who do not support Enterprise. I guess in my mind if you can only support a particular series, then you are not a true CORE Trekkie. After Voyager, I hungered for a new series....for more Star Trek. No, Enterprise is not a powerful series. But I will hang in there with it.......for me it's not an option not to watch it. I will critique it as I did all the others. But again I will conceed that you are correct....there are fans who are not watching this latest series.

  4. I think true Star Trek fans will always remain loyal. And in my opinion ture fans will support all series...and yet they will have their favorites. My concern is how to bring more fans into the fold. I don't think Enterprise is as strong as some of the series have been in the past. And yet as a fan I still support it and hope it will have better plots in the upcoming season. Again though, true Trekkies will remain loyal. :look:

  5. They did show her once in an episode called 'Once Upon a Time' when she, Paris and Tuvok crash-landed a shuttlecraft and it became buried beneath the surface of the planet.  She was seriously injured, but survived.

Yes, I remember that episode.......and that's the last time I recall seeing her in an episode :look:

  6. I think I've said this already..she provided more then just oogling..I actually found her character to be more withdrawn then the rest..I just wish sometimes that they would have put her in baggy clothes..just so she could have actually acted not just stood there with me and every other man staring slack jawed....She's still smokin over on Boston Public.

Jeri Ryan is a very talented actress. I also like her character in Boston Public. I wish some of the other Voyager actors/actresses could make that same kind of transition into other TV shows. But again Seven of Nine was a pretty interesting character.......as a psychologist, she always reminded me of a person suffering from post traumatic stress disorder.(smiles) :look:

  7. :laugh:Personally I think comparing the two captains is like comparing "Oil and Water." They were both so different....so unique in every way. Both were great leaders. Both carried out their missions. Both had individual personalities. So both responded to their tasks and challenges in different ways. It's all a matter of preference, NOT who was the better captain. Of course as a Voyager fan my preference would be for Captain Janeway. But that doesn't make her a better captain. It just means that I liked her better. :look:

  8.   Seven and the Doctor definitely had a very interesting relationship.  While I know he certainly admitted having intimate  thoughts about her from time to time; he to her was more like a counselor. :look:

Do you remember his professing his love for 7 in the episode where he thought his program was corrupted and he was going to disappear. He made confessions to half the crew and then B'Elanna fixed theproblem.

Yes, I remember this episode quite well. It was very funny listening to all of his confessions........only to experience his embarrassment later when he learned that he was going to be alright........I really miss the Voyager characters. But in my heart I know that Seven never felt the same way about the Doctor as he felt about her.

  9. Could someone tell me what happend to Naomi Wildman's mother? I must have missed some episodes, somewhere. I would always see Naomi and Nelix, or Naomi with Seven........but never with her mother. Seems like I remember a few early episodes that included Naomi's mother. But I don't know what happened to her.......Thanks

  10. Don't get me wrong, because Tom Paris became a favorite character of mine in this series, but if he could go from being a prisoner to having an officer's status; surely Harry Kim deserved a promotion over the course of seven years. After seven years, he certainly wasn't that young anymore.

  11. I am a huge Voyager fan, and have taped many of the episodes. You are right in looking at the Caretaker......the beginnings of Voyager, and 7 years later watching The End game, you can really see changes in the characters both physically and personality wise. One charcter I'd also like to mention is B'Elanna Torres. If you look back at the Caretaker , you will see that over the years her hair style changed. It changed in terms of how she wore it, and also it went from a much shorter cut to a shoulder length hair do. In addition, B'Elanna really hated Seven when Seven came on board Voyager. But as the episodes progressed and there was more forced interaction between the two; they actually developed a liking and a respect for each other. I remember an episode where Seven was dying, and B'Elanna was the crew member who perhaps was able to provide the greatest comfort to Seven in her time of need.

But more to the point, the growth of all the characters in terms of their personalities and relationships with each other, was a beautiful plot that developed along with the individual themes that ran through each episode. From the Captain on down, each character changed as a result of that journey in space. Even Nelix, became a personality to be taken more seriously, as the journey went on. And at the time of his departure from the ship, though I was happy for him, I actually shed a few tears, especially when Tuvok did his foot taping/dance just before Nelix left the ship. Voyager was a SPECIAL series......It gave us so much to think about. ;)

  12. Thanks for that bit of information. I have seen this episode many times. Plus I taped it not too long ago. I will have to go back and watch it again and listen more carefully to what Seven of Nine says when she first appears on the scene. Thanks again ;)

  13. Actually, I don't believe Voyager messed with the timeline.  Sure, they had one they had a LOT of time travel adventures, but none on the level of complete damage.  The one ones with significant damage are...

"Future's End" - Sol system almost destroyed, Holo-Doc gets his mobile emitter, computer revolution of 20th century happens.

"Endgame" - Future technology brought home to Earth.

So, they messed up once, and then brought home advanced technology.  That's nothing compared to Kirk! :o

Thank you Captain Picard for your comments here. :o

  14. :o Kes was an interesting character, one that you either liked or disliked. Personally, I liked her......enjoyed watching the changes in her relationship with Nelix, as well as the other plots that centered around her personality, and heritage. I wished that there had been a way to keep both her and Seven on the show. Also, I always wished that I'd know the real truth about Kes leaving the cast........as some very ugly rumors circulated at the time of her departure on some of the Voyager websites.

In regards to Seska, I never liked her.....even before the rest of the Voyager crew discovered what she was really up to..........she was just just a NASTY character. :o

  15. In this series I had two favorites....Picard and Data. But if I have to choose between the two it would have to be Captain Picard. Even though Voyager is my very favorite series, I think Jean-Luc Picard........Patrick Stewart was the most impressive captain of all of the Star Trek series. He had the most commanding persona, his leadership was outstanding. Patrick Stewart is just a great actor.......So Picard gets my vote. :)
