    We're well into football season, and I'm curious who here is a fan, and who your team is. I'm a Miami Dolphins, and Florida State fan. FSU just got violated by the Hurricanes today. How are your teams doing so far? I dont know if anyone has addressed this yet. If someone did, I apologize for the post.

    Welcome back, I look forward to reading your thoughts about the new episodes. :P

    I will start tomorrow night after I see this week's episode. I missed it on Wednesday. I'd love to give my opinions on the other episodes, but at this point, it would be overkill.

    One last note...These people who send viruses and worms only knock people off for a short time. We ALWAYS come back! .....The person who got me was probably a ticked off Purity scan owner who read all my posts that exposed them as spyware. lol

    Here's mine....I wrote it, and played all the music, and did all the backup vocals.

    Jammin' tune but....ahhhh...ouch! The ex sounds like a she-devil who ripped your heart out and stomped on it. Hope things are going better for you now than when you wrote that tune.

    I'm sure you've all noticed that I've been posting alot more lately. Its for a couple reasons. One, ST.com has turned into a paranoid frenzy of spammer vs legitimate poster. Every new member is accused of being a spammer. It got annoying. Not to mention that since they reformatted the boards, it has been a major pain in the @$$ to log on there. Once Enterprise starts again, I'll be getting back to my highly detailed Trek posts. lol

    I didnt even bother posting the typical "farewell" there. It just got old. Guess what I'm saying is "I'm back, and here to stay!" lol

    Hate to tell you guys but the season has already begun for REAL football.  We are into week 8 of the Canadian Football League season.  You'll hear no complaints about playing in blizzard in October/November (that's home field advantage to our guys!), no complaints about playing in 32F weather in November (that's downright balmy - our players wouldn't even be wearing long sleeve shirts for that - sigh that reminds of the year I was at the Grey Cup game and it was -25C - what a great game)  The game with 3 downs, 110 yard field and NO fair catch (what a wimpy rule!).  CFL rules - NFL sleep.gif

    Then, explain why Doug Flutie wanted to play in the NFL so bad instead of staying in the Canadian league, and Warren Moon never went back to the CFL. NFL RULES!!!! GO DOLPHINS!!! :) :bow: :)

    I searched my computer and found no purity scan, but there is another type of trojan floating around that my anti-virus just caught and deleted after I updated it and ran a complete scan on my system.  It's called "MusicSearch".  I'm not exactly sure what it does-I'm thinking, judging by the name, that it's searching my hard drive for any downloaded music.  As I mentioned earlier, AVG (my anti-virus software) identified it as a trojan horse and deleted it.  I think it got into my system while my son was using my computer because he sometimes forgets to put the firewall up before going online.  I'm wondering if this trojan was released by the RIAA to check people's computers for illegal music?  I do know that they are now issuing subpoenas by the hundreds.  What do you guys think?  Am I being paranoid?  Does anybody know what this "MusicSearch" trojan really does?

    I did a search for it on the net, and all I found were links to message boards of people that said the exact same thing that you did. There doesnt appear to be any information on the net about it.

    I have one. It isnt hard to do... http://www.stinsv.com/index2.htm everything you need is there. My wallpaper looks like a LCARS computer panel, all of my desktop icons have been changed to LCARS icons, and every beep and whistle and voice alert is from Star Trek...example...when I log on to Windows, it says "Log on complete" when I log off, it says "Self destrut will detonate in 59 seconds. There will be no further audio warning." Some of the things that it will install for the sounds, I didnt like, but you can change them to something you do like. You can also set up Yahoo Messenger with LCARS sounds.

    I have Earthlink and thier pop-up blocker works great but I went ahead and checked for it a low and behold it was there. Thanks for letting us know about it.

    No problem. I'm glad. I hope more people find it, and get rid of it. I posted it on ST.com too. I encourage everyone to copy and paste my original post and put it on every message board they are on. Just list it on this thread so we all know where it went so we arent guilty of spamming.

    Thanks for the heads up 8247.  I don't have a problem with pop ups because I take a 3 pronged approach to avoiding spyware (which is what this purity scan seems to be).  First, I don't use IE to surf the net.  I use Avant Browzer which has a built in pop up blocker.  To keep spyware off my computer, I use a software firewall (Sygate-free) and have installed two other programs which scan for and delete spyware-Ad-Aware 6.0 and SpyBot Search and Destroy.  Both of these are free programs and keep my computer pretty much spyware and pop up free.

    Adaware 6.0 doesnt work against Purity Scan. I have adaware. Thats why I was so mad when I was getting them. But, like I said, I'm popup free now too. lol

    I was getting pop up ads galore for a while. I then contacted an email link on one of them. I spammed that email telling them that every time I got a pop up ad, they would get a nasty email from me. I sent over 50 emails to that link, and the creep actually emailed me back apologizing for the popups. He said that he didnt send them, and that I should email someone else about it. He gave me a link, and that led me to "Purity Scan" It is trojan horse spy ware disguised as a pornographic material scan to locate it on your computer. Why would you need to scan for it? If you put it on your computer, its there. If you didnt, it's not there. lol Anyway, I tried to email them, and their email was full. I looked in my program list and sure enough, Purity Scan was there. I deleted it, and the response was not the usual "Are you sure you want to un install?" This was more like #$%^ you!. lol

    After I got rid of it, the popups STOPPED completely.

    If you have a problem with popup ads, look in your programs list for Purity Scan. don't look in add or remove programs. You wont find it there. Look for it from the start menu programs list. If you find it, right click on it, and uninstall it from there.

    Remember...that when a ship is cloaked, the shields must be down in order to cloak. Also, in episodes when they discovered a Klingon vessel that was disabled, with its shields down, they would scan for life signs. The hull doesnt block the scans. Why couldnt they just scan for life signs in the vicinity? It would only work if they saw a ship cloak itself. They couldnt just scan for life signs all the time, and if the ship went to warp, they'd be out of luck, but if one cloaked and stayed in the area, they could find it by scanning for life signs.

    What do you think?

    TV ratings are very similar to radio ratings. (which I have participated in) The only difference is in radio ratings, the selected person, who represents 1000 people is given a chart to write down his or her radio preferences. In TV, there is a box which attatches to the TV, and instead of writing down the selected person's radio habits, the TV box records, and logs every flip of the channel. Basically, the fat slob who sits at home alone every night watching American Idol represents everyone else in the area. Example...I dont know ANYONE who has watched any reality TV such as Survivor, American Idol, Big Brother, The Amazing Race, or any other worthless rag of TV programming. My point? The ratings are unfair, and the networks dont care that the other 999 people could be watching Enterprise every Wednesday night. They have their system, and thats all they care about. Want to know why Reality TV is so popular? My guess is that there are many people out there who'se lives are so pathetic that they have to watch other people make fools out of themselves for their 15 minutes of fame, and imagine that they might someday do the same.

    By the way...Most of the TV shows I watch, I either have to download, or record on the VCR. Why? BECAUSE I HAVE A LIFE!!!!!!...Note...The TV ratings boxes dont recognize preset VCR recordings.

    Enterprise is great, and there are many people out there who agree, but arent able to be heard in the ratings because of the way they do it.

    Poverty was eliminated quite quickly, why not smoking?

    Also, everyone on Enterprise had to pass rigorous physical testing, it would be hard to pass through the academy if you were a smoker. I don't see many people in the US Army smoking.

    You've never lived near an Army post. I'd say at least hals of the entire military smokes...at least in the Army and Marines.

    First of all, I thought Regeneration was great too. But, there should be no more borg ENT episodes because T'pol said that the message the Borg sent would take a long time to get to the Delta Quad.

     

    Anyway...Expanse...

    It was by far the most intense episode so far. This whole season has been very good. I cant wait until the next season. I'm glad that they ended it with them crossing into the Expanse, and of course, the photon torpedoes were cool too. Next season, they enter, leaving us to wonder WHAT THE HECK COMES NEXT??????????

     

    I'd give Regeneration and the Expanse both 9's. In my opinion, the pilot was the best episode, and I gave it a 10....then....Now, it becomes an 8. We'll leave the 10 open for future kick @$$ episodes.

     

    Good to be back...
