  1. My boyfriend has only seen a little Trek, but once we got together to watch The Trouble with Tribbles. He said that he got the idea for us to watch it together because I talked about how that was my favorite episode of all time, and he wanted to see it :P I'll make a Trekkie of him yet.

  2. Neat article. I just started a project on the uses of fractals, so that helped give me some ideas of what to reasearch.

I made some fractal art, it's not as cool as the pic you posted, though. Stupid photobucket doesn't like big files. Whatever, they still rocketh. I printed out a big version of this one and framed it. It's linked out 'cause message boards don't seem to like bitmap files. >_>

    Fractal

I really wanna hear some fractal music. Seems like it would be awesome.

  3. Recently in algebra we started studying fractals, and I think they're amazing. It's just so wild that such complex images can come from such seemingly simple equations. Well, at least the Mandelbrot and Julia equations seem simple, I don't know what any of the other equations are.

Anyway, I have some fractal software, and I think exploring a fractal is almost like exploring another world. The wierd thing is, they're like visual oxymorons; they're complicated images that come from simple equations, and they're made from imaginary numbers (like, the square root of negative one)

I think I'll stop now, my brain is starting to hurt.

  4. Which series do you like the best? DS9

    Which movie? Wrath of Kaaaaaaaaahn

Have you seen all the episodes of any of the series? I've seen all but two or three of TOS and I'm really working on seeing all of DS9

When and how did you discover Trek? Acctually, it was only a few months before discovering STF. I was channel surfing, came across reruns of TNG on Spike and became hypnotized by it.

Have you ever been to a convention? Yep, this summer I went to the one in Vegas

Have you seen any of the actors up close (not just close to the TV)> At the convention I saw lots of them. And I had a pic taken with Nimoy.

Do you own a starfleet uniform? Yep. 23rd century style. I'm a redshirt

Have you ever dressed up as an alien? For homecoming my grade's theme was futuristic, so I was a Vulcan. Then for this Halloween parade/thing in the weird part of town I was a Trill. It was really cool, 'cause there were all these Klingons on motorcycles and they were all "Hey, a Trill!"

  5. Aw, I'm kind of sad. Though I wasn't either excited or bummed about the idea of a new movie, I was thrilled about an excuse to wear my Starfleet uniform in public (ok, so I wear it in public without an excuse, having a reason just makes me feel less socially akward)

Well, I just hope that they do eventually change their minds (You know, wait a few more years, get some better ideas) but come on, it's not going to be stellar given: 1) it's an odd number and 2.) in this day and age, movies usually stink like cat pee

  6. So the rules are as follows: set your mp3 player or music library on your computer to "shuffle" and list the first 10 songs that come up.

    1.Lamb of God: Marilyn Manson

    2. Blue Collar Man: Styx

    3. The Speed of Pain: Marlyn Manson

    4. Born Again: Marilyn Manson

    5. Sweet Leaf: Black Sabbath

    6. Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue: Ramones

    7. Male Model: Sleater Kinney

    8. One Beat: Sleater Kinnery

    9. Kashmir from Dead Zeppelin (it's a album that's basically a whole bunch of metal bands doing Led Zeppelin covers)

    10. Come sail Away: Styx

  7. LOTB! Haven't seen you in ages! *hug* I have the song Disposable Teens by Marilyn Manson stuck in my head. That was a great concert. I need a manicure. You know what's wierd? The Ionic Breeze is suposed to purify air, but it creates ozone. That's why I call it the Ironic Breeze. Ozone smells nice. I drink too much caffine. I hate that humming sound computers make. Hmmmmmmmmmm. Acctually, white noise in general really annoys me. Cheesecake.

  8. *squeal* I lurve DDR! I have it for PS2. For Christmas I got a really nice dance mat; it's non-slip and has hard foam on the inside (it unzips around the edge so you can take the foam out and fold up the mat, the foam is in pieces so they store easy as well as the rest of it)

Honestly, it's the only active thing that I'll do willingly. It should be considered a sport.

  9. This may be my morning coffee talking, but I'd like a DS9 musical.

Sisko could come back, of course. And there could be some spacial anomoly or something that gives everyone an overwhelming urge to sing and dance.

Then the Romulans would take over DS9, and sing and dance. Then everyone would get really drunk on Romulan ale.

  10. I've recently gotten tivo, so the Spike thing doesn't really bother me anymore. But, I know that many Trekkies don't have this luxury, so, I do still think that Spike is dumb and messed up for only showing DS9 when most of us are at school or work.

Then, with Tivo, there's always the issue of hard drive space. I'm generally satisfied seeing an episode once, yeah, I like seeing them mulitple times, but, apart from the really good ones, I don't mind having to occasionally purge the hard drive. Plus, apart from Trek stuff, I delete stuff right after I watch it.

The point is, I lurve tivo.
