Bakula had good experience on "Quantum Leap" so i agree with who ever says hes right for this role.. he had an understanding of future technology.. plus wasn;t he a star trek fan??-Laur
To this day I still haven't seen the first episode of Quantum Leap, no matter how hard I've tried I just can't seem to catch it on.
-
Dr. Phlox is a good character too. I liked Dear Doctor a lot. -
I liked O'Brian, nice crossover, and Quark.I like the friendship of Miles and Julian, it added a lot to the storyline.
-
Why not, if I had the extra cash and it were something I wanted then yes. If it's not to your liking after getting it I am almost positive there's a return policy.
-
Here's a good song that's about this issue. Warning though, it's country so if you don't like country I did warn you
-
Jadzia Dax was the most complete female character ever conjured up by Star Trek, in my humble opinion. Well, the Klingon women we saw through the run of the show were pretty close but Jadzia was my favorite. DS9 was a show for strong females.I agree about hers being a complete, well rounded role. I also think Kira was too.

I'm a new boy on board. Hope we can have some fun on this much more superior board.Welcome to the board! Have fun and enjoy all the features it has to offer. I know I do. I will look forward to your views on Star Trek!

ABSOULTLY NOTHINGi do NOT want to go to war AT ALL.. honestly in my opinion Bush is an IDIOT.. but then agian we can not have another Pearl harbour Tragedy... so i guess in a way hes smart..
what are all you opinions on this matter??
Personally I think it has to be done. If we don't do it now it'll come back to hurt us in the end.
-
i Luv the Episode where the Voyager Crew sends him *the Doc8 back to earch to help is creator and Deanna Troi comes and calls then BOTH jerks.. and he ends up saving his creators life.. its so cute.. i just forget the name of it-Laur
Yes that was a good one too, with Barclay in it too. It was named Life Line.
-
What happened in Author Author?? i am just starting to watch DS9 and Voyager.. i'm a Next Gen girl.. i thought the other 2 were stupid and pointless and now i discovered i actuallt like them.. heheso whats it about??
-Laur
The Doctor writes a Holo novel called Photons Be Free. It's all about how Holograms are almost treated like Slaves. I won't tell too much about the story but the novel is played out on a holodeck and members of the crew take turns playing the part of the Hologram.
It's a good episode. Another good one with the Doctor is Living Witness.
-
lol u pretended to be Kirk.. hehe i Grew up on Next Gen cuz of my daddy.. so i always Pretended to be Deanna.. thats y i asked to be the councelor.. and y i act like a councelor to all my friends:)..but yeah TOS never had a real chance to start.. but the time that they got going they ended.. at leats their movies had a chance.. and better quality.. i LUVED The Voyage Home..
-Laur
Yep, I was James T. Kirk and my best friend was Spock... lol My front yard even had 5 slabs of stone at the foot of the front steps and we'd use them as transporter pads. LOL
I had a phaser, a tricorder and walkee talkee's that liked like communicators. Oh, to be 8 again... LOL
-
Ok whats Everyones FAVOURITE Voyager Cast Member??Mine would have to be the Doctor.. hes funny and wants to aspire to be what he wasn;t programmed to be
Neelix- just cuz hes unique
-Laur
Mine too is the Doctor. Author, Author is one of my favorite episodes from Voyager.
-
Picking a favorite from DS9, for me, would be near impossible. I always enjoy a good Quark episode though.
I also liked Garak. But to pick just oone favorite, I couldn't do it.
-
Yeah, looking at it through younger eyes I can understand that. I grew up in the 70's as a boy pretending to be James T. Kirk in my back yard so I kind of look at the show with the same awe of that little boy from years gone by. It's hard to believe there were only 79 original episodes, and from that we have well over 500 episodes from the other series. -
Chris is correct, April 1st.Good! That's less then a month away! I can't wait till the whole series has been released!
-
First Contact here too, though I think ST II was the best of them all. -
Thanks to Bysty for suggesting this section!
-
Hi everybody. Im bysty (pronounced beastie) and I'd just like to introduce myself. I'm only 16 but I've been a Star Trek fan since I was very very little. I even remember how sad I was when I found out that TNG was ending, way back in 1993, because I used to watch it all the time. I even watched it when I was in kindergarten. Also, I'm a big fan of James Bond and have been since grade 3 (I'm currently in grade 10).Anyways, just saying hello and I hope we all have great conversations.
PS. This is a MUCH better forum then the startrek.com forums.
Welcome to the board bysty! Here we're all ages and we all love Star Trek. I look forward to reading your views on Trek in the future.
As fot ST.COM's board, I got to the point where I just hated seeing all the hate posts (Like are over there right now) and the Admin's of the board (If there are any) never did anything about it. So I made this one to try to make a nice place for Trek fans to go where we don't have to worry with that kind of stuff.
Enjoy, and again... Welcome!!
-
HelloI am Windwalker. I don't consider myself a Trekker or a Trekee, but I love Star Trek in all it's forms. I hope this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Welcome to the board! I also love Star Trek in all it's forms, even the Animated series! LOL

Some early episodes are soo bad. For example in the Neutral Zone, the guy wanders onto the bridge during the confrontation with the Romulans. Riker yells "get that man off the bridge" Security comes outa nowhere to remove him but the Romulans de-cloak and suddenly the security guards forget their job and guy is allowed to stay. If that was real life those security guards would have been fired in a second. Then Riker says he'd never thought he'd see a Romulan vessel this close. So the Federation have a signed treaty with the Romulans and a substantial border and Riker thinks he's never see a Romulan vessel. Not very strong writing in my opinion. It's flaws like these that ruin the early episodes. Actually, because of that one scene that episode has become one of my most despised. Mabye I'm too picky heheh.
Hah.. yea especially season 1 had some comical errors to it. Like the time when Riker and crew go the all women ruled planet and he goes to chamber of the leader. They are having drinks and she starts to set hers down as the camera zooms...then all of a sudden this HAND comes up from the bottom of the screen and takes the glass away from her. Also...sometimes you can see camera stands sitting in the turbolifts. I liked season one and the errors just really make it more enjoyable for me. Strange!
Yeah it showed their "Growing Pains" for sure. The first 2 seasons had it's moments but it wasn't till season 3 that it really took off.

My favs would have to be all the ones where it focuses on Data/Lore/Dr Noonien Soong. It was Also really cool in ship in a bottle. I would hate to be in that position. I had a headache just from watching it! Lore is soooo cool. He has what Data lacks (But I still love Data anyways!) and besides. Evil is just live spelt backwards!
I really liked the last couple of lines in 'The Most Toys'
"...Now you are the collecter. It must bring you great pleasure."
"No sir! It does not! I am only an android."
Of course, I love all the ones with Q.
"Con permiso mon capitane. The hall is rented, the orchestra qued, now lets see if you can dance!"
If you ever watched Voyager, he was hilarious when he had a problem with Qjr.

If you like this episode then you MUST also like Ship in a bottle, right? That's almost like Part 2 of Elementary my Dear Data. Both great episodes.

I like:
The Naked Now (Data drunk, I don't know why I always laugh at it )
Suddenly Human (made me cry )
The Offspring (compared to Suddenly Human, an ocean formed in the living room )
Any episode with Data as the focus is my favorite, Masks was keen, too.

2. Best of Both worlds 1 & 2
3. Yesterday's Enterprise
4. Booby Trap
5. Lower Decks
6. Contagion
I really like episodes where you see other Federation ships like in The Wounded and Contagion. I also enjoy it when you see part of the normal ship operations like in Lower Decks. This part is lost in the feature films. I don't feel like the Enterprise E is home for them since we never see any of the ship.

Wow, to try to pick favorites... The only order I will put these in is by season not by my ranking. But these would a few of my favorites.
The Neutral Zone
Elementary, Dear Data
The Royale
Sins of the Father
Hollow Pursuits
Reunion
Redemption
Disaster
Cause and Effect
Ship in a Bottle
Birthright
Timescape
Lower Decks
There's others but those are a few of the "highlights"

Yeah I noticed that too with the idiot from the past on the bridge. But dispite that it is one of my favorite episodes from the first 2 seasons. One I forgot to mention is:
The Big Goodbye
None of the series really took off till season 3 anyway.

I liked most of the movie as a movie, but it had more of a Star Wars "feel" to it at times.
That and I hated the end. But other then that I liked it as a movie.
