Thanks guys. They say 40 is the new 30, but I much prefer the old 30.
Being back in college makes me wish that 40 was the new 20, those 18 to 20 year old girls just don't see it that way though lol
Happy birthday.

Kor, someone should bring this to the attention of the admin or a prominent moderator. (I nominate YOU!!) I would think they would want to have a memorial thread or banner...or something.I don't really think that they don't care. I haven't kept track of how many views this topic has, but I think most people just haven't seen it and don't know about it.
I've placed a link to Joe's profile at the very top of the forum. This will be there permanently. Once there's a thread made I'll put that op the portal with Joe's picture as well.
If anyone has any other ideas please let me know.
-
Wow, I was afraid that Joe had passed away when we hadn't heard from him in so long but I didn't have any way to find out for sure. I'm really saddened by this. Way too young to die, not that any age is a good age but just way too young.
Kor, please make a separate posting and PM me the link to it and I'll move it to the portal.

It's getting close to 2 years since our last upgrade (March of 2008 was the last upgrade) and Invision has released their newest version so I'll probably be upgrading the board one of these weekends when I don't have a whole lot going on. So if the board is down for a few hours (or more), one day you know what's happening.

Darth Vader - The Star Wars Villain on the Northwest TowerIn the 1980s, while the west towers were under construction, Washington National Cathedral held a decorative sculpture competition for children. Word of the competition was spread nationwide through National Geographic World Magazine. The third-place winner was Christopher Rader, with his drawing of that fearful villain, Darth Vader. The fierce head was sculpted by Jay Hall Carpenter, carved by Patrick J. Plunkett, and placed high upon the northwest tower of the Cathedral.

Nobody has mentioned Patrick Swayze's best movie Road HouseR.I.P. Dalton aka Patrick Swayze
You know, I don't think I've ever watched it all the way through. In fact I'd be hard pressed to think of any time I've seen more than a few minutes of it.
I think the earliest thing I've seen him, which I'm sure Mandy will remember too is an episode of M*A*S*H where he plays a wounded soldier that they discover has leukemia.

man.....this kinda blows. i can remember when i was about 3 or 5 when i first saw Dirty Dancing. since then i liked some of his other movies like "Ghost" "Next Of Kin" "Point Break"....which i was just watching two days ago, and even his role in MASH. All I can say he will be missed. Funny thing is I have one song from him stuck in my head. Most of you should know what it is B).I worked at the movies when Dirty Dancing came out, I probably watched the movie 50 to 100 times while it was out that summer (1987).
Watch some of his early stuff too, "The Outsiders" and "Red Dawn" were good.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090915/ap_en_...s_obit_swayze_1LOS ANGELES – Patrick Swayze has died after a nearly two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Swayze's publicist Annett Wolf says the 57-year-old "Dirty Dancing" actor died Monday with family at his side. He came forward about his illness last spring, but continued working as he underwent treatments.
It was 1987 when Swayze became a star with his performance in "Dirty Dancing," a coming-of-age story set in a Catskills resort. The 1990 film "Ghost" cemented his status as a screen favorite.
Swayze played a murdered man trying to communicate with his fiancee through a spirit played by Whoopi Goldberg.
He kept on working even after it was disclosed in March 2008 that he had a particularly deadly form of cancer. He starred in "The Beast," an A&E drama series, and said he and his wife were working on a memoir.

They had a nice collection of Star Trek toys at the National Air and Space Museum when Amy and I went last month. These dolls look different from the ones they had though. You can even see the TOS Enterprise (the origninal model) in the background. (click the pic to get a much larger view)

It's been raining all day here.

I don't have any Trek clothes either, if the Experience had had any t-shirts last year while Mandy and I were there I was going to buy at least one but they didn't have any left... or if they did they were the wrong size (I think they had 1 shirt left actually).

I saw this being used as an avatar:

It's an idea worth looking into, Mandy takes care of those sites (MySpace etc...) for us. She's been pretty busy with life in general and hasn't been on much but when she gets some time I'll ask her to see about it.

Ok, here's the 4th of 11 polls

I'm home now, still fighting the poison ivy though but I think it's finally starting to fade.

Hope the meds work. :)Thanks, I've been on them for a couple days now and they're helping a lot. Still have a lot of the rash and blisters on my arms, chest and stomach but aside from where my shirt rubs on the rash the itching and pain has all but vanished.
I'll be glad when I can walk in public without a pink crust of calamine lotion all over my arms again lol

That is amazing. Hope she does drop in to say Hi. How are the arms doing, VBG?They're driving me crazy, there's a little on my face and chest now too. The bad thing about it is I have a family reunion to go to in a couple days up in Maryland.
Wow....Odie hasn't been around here for a long long time. Maybe after meeting you, she might pop in. What the heck was she doing in Virginia anyway? She lives in San Diego as I recall. No, she relocated to Virgina. I believe she left the Navy and moved to Virginia for a civilian job. My facts could be wrong, though.
I wonder how she ended up in Virginia? She's originally from Buffalo, NY and spent most of her military career in California. Did you get ANY info out of her at all, VBG?
No, we just spoke for a minute, and I was in a bit of discomfort which was distracting me.

I wasn't paying any attention to which mint any coin came from, it was difficult enough just getting these.I had a friend in Kansas (who was Amy's friend as well) that sent me all of the first 5 or 6 states from the Denver mint and I sent her the ones from the Philadelphia mint.
The full rolls that I have are from both mints.

Joe joined the board in 2005, his original screen name was dragonwrangler95. He changed it once that ability was made available back in early 2008.
