No, I remember having a conversation with somebody about whether Sex should be in Trek, and I made a bet that if Sex is put into Trek the quality of the product would go down. I cashed it in about 3 months ago

Nope. I take offense to naked people and sexuallity being shown on TV. If it's implied, that's fine, as long as I don't see or hear it.

Just to keep things clear, I don't think sex is "dirty" like many might assume, I just don't believe it should be on TV. Star Trek entertains me, sex does not.

Stardate:214576.8

No.Although it might raise ratings a little it would cheapen star trek.Going that low just to acheive ratings is despecalbe.I would rather it be cancelled then for them to destroy it in that manner.

I don't care. We already have so much nude people on TV here... :P I've gotten used to it and I don't feel offended at all. Though I think that they shouldn't add too many of such things to Star Trek. That's not what Star Trek is for.

Naked people are fun, and He/she is implying you must be lacking some hormone producing glands to not find that true.

Seriousily who cares if some one is naked geeze, we were made to be naked. Sex? It's realistic but don't want to make Star Trek into a porno, although ::thinks:: that could be a profitable interlade...hehehe

They only have 40 minutes for plot time as it is. There are dozens of channels to watch if you want to watch sex. There are precious few that have any scifi with substantive plot - let's not waste what time we've got.

It's just a Berman ploy to get ratings... Gene wouldn't want this.... I mean.... They even make mistakes about mating.... Vulcans have sex through their fingers..... Humans through u know what.... And with the super bowl thing..... I'd rather watch a DS9 episode

Sex and sex appeal have always been a part of the Star Trek universe- but always as a B plot (or C, D, ect. plot).

I enjoy seeing realistic, adult relationships in Trek, but I don't want it to turn into a bad Cinemax movie.

With that said- I am starting a boycott of Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake* for denying Americans the chance to see T'pol's butt. UPN cropped the scene because of the Super Bowl fiasco.

*I've been actively them boycotting all along, but now I'm really serious.

I would like to see more plots not more panties or .... boxers. Now , would ahve LOVED to have seen Data in even short sleeves, but alas....

Some good action (no, not that kind) humor, and doing what has to be done to overcome the bad guy is what we need, not T&A.

a wise man once said of story telling....if it advances the story, adds to it and does not take way from it, wonderful, if not, axe it.

and BTW, Vulcan's have sex the same way we do, but they meld too.

Roddenberry wouldn't like it?! He put green sex slaves in the pilot - and created little known character named Capt. Kirk. And he was Executive Producer when Data gave Tasha hot robot lovin'.

It showed her entire backside...what else were they going to show? (Although I don't know if it was Blalock or a body double)

You must live in Canada- because in the US they showed a cropped scene of her back.

*I'm pretty sure that wasn't a body double, by the way.

So if the Master started it, why not honor him by putting more sex in Startrek

i dont really think startrek should have more sex.. it has enough already and this is a show about space not mating rituals! if ppl want to see some of that stuff rent a porn video.. we also have to remeber htat younger people watch star trek too. and if there is more sex in it , it would mostlikly become restricted to some younge trek fans.

No..Absolutely not !! The way to get and keep ratings is to put out good quality Sci Fi stories and characters that have interesting relationships..Definately not sex..I'm not opposed to showing a little skin now and then as long it accompanies a good story..But in my opinion there is no place for sex in Star Trek..

I can put up with the odd little scenes that have been shown, and as long as they don't get more revealing I can continue to put up with them.

No, I'd like to be able to watch Star Trek with my kids thank you.

Exactly! Star Trek is a family show geared toward adults. If they continue to "sex it up", soon we'll have "Viewer Discression is advised." at the beginning of each episode. :wow:

As for the decon chamber, I enjoy those scenes, because they usually come off funny. Instead of zooming in on the rubbing  , try zooming in on their faces and instead of making it about "the goo rubbing", try making the scene about two characters spending time together while stuck in the decon chamber. The concept is good, it's just executed for young teenage boys. :assimilated:

If you want more sex, go watch cable, ppv, Fox, or NBC. I like my quality sci-fi castrated, thank you very much. :wow::hug:

my 4 yr old son has just started watching star trek with me, and he enjoys it immensely. i think adding sex would be unnecessary and spoil it for viewers in his age bracket. one of the good things about trek is that it doesn't need to employ unnecessary violence and sex to be the excellent show that it is.
