This is just an arbitrary list of places. If you had to choose one of the above - lets and evil scientist was holding a ray gun to hour head  - which would you choose and why

The South Seas has a definite appeal - Egypt would be fascinating (if you could go back as a wealthy Egyptian) but I have to vote the American West. It was a unique place in time and history where independence was as vital as food and water. I would stick the more Southern parts because I dislike snow.

I agree with RC. The American West during the gold rush. That must have been very exciting, exhausting and... awesome... somehow.

I also wouldn't pick any of those either. If a mad scientist said those were my only choices and I couldn't stay where I was I'd go with the American West though.

If given any choice I might come up with (for the past) I'd be more likely to pick the American Revolution or maybe WW II. For me, to be present during those days in the late 1700's would be amazing. Also, to be around during the time of WW II would be equally amazing and assuming I survived the war it would only be 9 more years that Elvis would break onto the music scene in Memphis so that would be like getting a "two fer" (2 for the price of 1). I would want to return to my present day time though after about 1961 or 1962. I wouldn't want to have to put up with "Beatlemania" lol

Out of those choices it would either be the American West or colonizing Australia (would that make me a convict? ).

My real answer? I'd like to have lived in the American East/Midwest in the 1700's during the birth-years of the US (preferably after the Revolutionary War, though :) ) The idea of starting out life in a brand new country without all the easiness of life today is kind of intriguing.

....Then I remember how much I like drive-thru's, microwaves, heaters, air-conditioning, and INDOOR PLUMBING!!! With that in mind, keep your past; I'm happy right here. :dude:

Decisions, decisions. :dude:

I would have to pick Caesar's Rome (Augustus, that is). I have always been fascinated by Ancient Rome. The chance to actually see it in its prime would be too hard to pass up.

The American West appeals to the explorer in me.

The appeal of the South Seas tells me I need a vacation!

Ye "The colonization of Australia" I can go and see my convicted ancestors but then again I could do something wrong and prevent my own existence :o
