I'm actually a Roman polytheist (Religio Romana) and a bit of a skeptic, so I'm not surprised by the answer.

Buddhism is classified as a religion, but from I know about it I think a philosophy is a better description. I don't think there is anything about Buddhism that says you can't believe in a diety, even if it is not common.
