Theunicornhunter 2 Posted July 22, 2003 Still no permanent job since the layoff but working for a temp agency. Looking for a second job because one "real" job does't seem likely anytime soon. On a happy note I have more people to call me Auntie.

Yillara Skye 1 Posted July 22, 2003 Hi, have not seen you in a while! I think last time you were here was back when my arm was first injured and my doctor had diagnosed it a a wrist strain. Well, now a month and a half later I am still having problems. I was transferred to an orthopaedic specialist and found out(via my MRI) that the "wrist strain" was really: bone contusions in my elbow and forearm, edema(swelling) in my elbow, marrow edema in my forearm, effusion(fluid) in my elbow joint, forearm, and recently discovered some fluid in my wrist. So, for me the summer has been going back and forth to doctors, Calling my workers comp people(grrrr...have an issue with them, a BIG one!), and trying to simple chores that would be so much easier with two hands. Always lived my life day by day, now even more so it seems. Other than my medical adventures...I have helped proofread a friend's story, worked on my story, worked on three art/computer projects(one program my brother and I are working on contains over 300 images that I have to do- I am 3/4ths of the way finished! YAY!), reread a few books, posted here, retired from the sport of gymnastics(my arm will be too weak to remain an athlete in that sport-but, 20 years is a really long career in that sport). I just am hoping my arm will be better and ready to go in October... I am a member of my family's band and the Oktoberfest series is coming up. Gotta have two arms to play either of my instruments...guitar or clarinet. As for my job as a gymnastics coach, not sure how long I can remain a coach... my arm may not be strong enough to be able to support the weight of some of our bigger students(the one I was helping when my arm was injured weighs about 100lbs, not "big" in that way, however this girl is very strong and a powerful tumbler) I look forward to going back to school(when I can afford it-grrr..oops going back to my gripe about worker's comp) so that I can finish my Senior year and get my Bachelor's Degree(see my profile to see what my major is). I may attempt to get a couple other degrees too while I am at it: history, humanities(may be part of the history degree though), dance(emphasis on jazz and ballet)...hmm. cptwright 1 Posted July 22, 2003 well glad to see everyones generally doing alright, so VBG how is your wrist problems, any better, or are they just jerking ya around trying to find something that works for it? yillara, take it from me, anything comp, means insurance, and of course anything insurance means major frustrations. one way they want their money right when they want it, but when it comes to paying out, they dont want to do it at all. so just try to take it with a grain of salt. well hope your arm gets better soon for your oktoberfest, and VBG hope the docs figure something out for you too. master_q 0 Posted July 22, 2003 Well I’m just ok. These past few weeks have been hard because my Mother has been having a hard time. She has diabetes and right now it's really affecting her whole body. Well, I won’t get into all that, but it has been hard. So I’m staying home a lot theses past few weeks to help her (and this gives me more time to go on the internet) Master Q StarTrek_Master_Q@yahoo.com
