  1. I've had this conversation before, the difference between a nerd and a geek is like the difference between a Vulcan and a Romulan. It's small but it's there. And the fact that I draw that conclusion shows how sad I am.

I don't care if I'm not 'cool' because most people I've met who've been hailed as cool have been shallow. I would rather be deep than cool.

  2. Sisko started of as a weak and unworthy of attention commander in Star Fleet. He went on to become one of the best Star Fleet captains to date... remember:-

    Kirk met God.

    Picard became a God.

    Janeway worshipped a God.

Sisko did all three, in style.

    Kirk drank coffee.

    Picard drank Earl grey tea.

    Janeway drank herbal tea.

    Sisko drank Klingon Coffee.

  3. Sovereign Class. I never liked the Defiant class *runs and hides*...

Sovereign Class is just... *sigh* B) my all-time fave ship's class. I just love it.  :b-day:

You don't like the Defiant? You what! B)

Seriously though, I agree with you about the Sovereign... one of the best designs to date... I'm also a big fan of the 'Prometheus class' ship design which featured in Voyager.

  8. (A salvo of torpedoes explodes on the port side of your ship, an entire fleet of Romulans are in pursuit of you. Suddenly Kirk jumps through a time portal which appears on the bridge, taking command. The ship goes into orbit around the planet Rigel III. The tactical officer begins an Irish jig. Alderan space hippies from the planet Zog turn the warp core reactor into a massive cannabis bong. Acting captain Alexander sits and watches the utter mayhem insue around him. Will he admit that there is chaos... or will he just blame it all on 'Q'?)

  9. khan.jpg

According to the test, I'm Khan... not really sure how to take that.

And according to a similar test... I am also: Emperor Palpatine. Sounds like I'm a bit of a power mad dictator...

    emperor3.jpg

And I'm also Frodo Baggins. Hmmm... that's alright I guess. Always thought of myself as more of a Gimli person though.

  10. what was the order # that Kirk sited n ST-the Motion Picture..that directs Scotty to blow up the ship on his commad?

It doesn't matter, most of the mission Kirk performed were pre-prime directive. The prime directive was introduced after the federation realised how many cultures it had contaminated... this is an argument T'pol and Archer have all the time on Enterprise. Whether or not Star fleet should get involved in other worldly affairs.

  11. (You heard me, I quit... everyone's too desperate to do there own thing or twist the story. There's no co-operation. Absolute chaos insues. Crew members get bored. Players leave. So... goodbye. RPGs need some sort of guidelines and what's more they need a gamesmaster to oversee the proceedings and create the story... too many people equals too much happening which equals utter mayhem. I'm not saying you can't enjoy yourselves... I'm just not enjoying it myself. So: I quit.)

  12. Commander: Engineering, report!

(Sasooni. General Order 32: Except in the case of an extreme emergency, no Starfleet commander is authorized to order his ship to travel faster than Warp Factor Five without express permission from Starfleet Command. This is why I'm in charge of the ship, because I can quote all the 'Directives and orders' of Starfleet... because I'm that much of a trekkie.)

  13. Sorry, never seen it... never heard of it for that matter. But feel free to choose from the list while I look that one up.

Edit: Found out something about it. Sounds alright, might rent it some time soon.

Anyone who fought in Vietnam can tell you that the war bore little resemblance to this propagandistic action film starring and codirected by John Wayne. But the film itself is not nearly as bad as its reputation would suggest; critics roasted its gung-ho politics while ignoring its merits as an exciting (if rather conventional and idealistic) war movie. Some notorious mistakes were made--in the final shot, the sun sets in the east!--and it's an awkward attempt to graft WWII heroics onto the Vietnam experience. But as the Duke's attempt to acknowledge the men who were fighting and dying overseas, it's a rousing film in which Wayne commands a regiment on a mission to kidnap a Viet Cong general. David Janssen plays a journalist who learns to understand Wayne's commitment to battling Communism, and Jim Hutton (Timothy's dad) plays an ill-fated soldier who adopts a Vietnamese orphan. In addition to its widescreen image, the digital video disc includes a promotional featurette and seven different theatrical trailers. --Jeff Shannon, amazon.com
