  1. Back when I was growing up there was no such thing as cable! We only had 4 channels.CBS,NBC,ABC,and Public television.

I'm showing my age here but I remember watching Captain Kangeroo back when he was living on a boat! Bunny Rabbit and Mr.Moose were on board as well along with a talking octopus that would visit from time to time.

The other shows I liked as I got a little older were Time Tunnel,Lost in Space, and Land of the Giants. I guess I've always been a Sci Fi fan!

I am a little older than you. I liked The Outer Limits and The Twilight Zone, the originals. Yes, I saw them when they were first run. I even watched a little Science Fiction Theater. I watched some of Star Trek, TOS when I could. It did not fall on a good time for me. I also liked The Time Tunnel. I did not see much of The Land of the Giants. My sister liked Lost in Space. The show eventually lost out in ratings because of Batman.

It was truly a cool thing when Star Trek returned in reruns. I got to watch it every night at 6:00PM on the now gone Kaiser Broadcasting. Star Trek truly got a shot in the arm from that.

  2. Betting on Baseball Games has been a sore spot in the majors since the 1919 scandal when the Chicago White Sox threw the World Series to win a bet against their own teem. That is why Pete Rose was given such a harsh punnishment. I think he should be in the Hall of Fame anyway. He broke Ty Cobb's record.

  3. I think that it was because of safety reasons.  Starfleet prefers to use non lethal weapons.  Also, if a traditional hand gun or rifle were to be fired on a starship it is very possible that it could puncture the hull.

Hmm, that does not say much for the structiure of the ship.

  4. This is a bit off topic, but I don't want to start a completely new one, and it is a little on topic - has anyone notices TNN thinks it's turning itself into the first network for men?? I mean, honestly, what so women aren't allowed to watch now? That has to be the stupidest thing I have ever heard!! I'm not in a very ranting kind of mood right now, so I wont make this longer but ARGH!!

Since dsbs brought this up, what does this mean for the future of Star Trek on TNN? Star Trek is far from an exclusively male show. In fact, Star Trek has had many female writers.

  5. I nulled my vote,I just don't care if anyone knows the year I was born or not. I was born in 1956 and to me that was a very good year!

cool! that is a good year! my mom was born in 56! (shows you how young I am)

That was when my dad ws born, mom was born in '55.. cool.

cool! I'm the opposite, my dad was born in 55 and my mom in 56!

wow! that is very cool to learn! Yeah, I think I had already said this in the poll but it was a while back...definately dont have a problem with my birthyear being on my profile:1980

I added my birthday and put the year too. I happen to have been born in 1955. That was truely a great year. :o

  6. And i tweaked it to make sure that it  kept him in line, so he should be good to go. I'm glad to hear that my sister is finally with the man of her dreams. Now all we have to do is protect our futures!
