We saw this show last year and had a great time. I'm glad it's coming back and hope to attend again. Part of the prodcution was performed at the Chicago Creation Star Trek Con, so hopefully more people are now aware of it and may attend. I love the Conan O'Brien quote about the show: "The show honors the true meaning of Christmas" – Conan O'Brien
The show is performed in the Original Klingon with English Supertitles, and narrative analysis from The Vulcan Institute of Cultural Anthropology.

I also have a commercial song stuck in my head, that I actually like. It's from a Talbot commercial and is sung by Shirley Bassey in her sultry voice. Part of it goes:
They say the next big thing is here,
they say the revolution's clear,
but to me it seems quite clear,
it's all just a little bit of history repeating.

I recently saw Levar Burton speak at the Chicago Comic Con, and he referred to this announcement. As a Children's Librarian I referred patrons to and read the books from Reading Rainbow in Storytimes for years. Burton deserves huge credit for being involved in all versions of Reading Rainbow.
While I applaud the idea of having more literature recommended to children, the fact is that many children, including those who can probably not afford digital devices, need access to these books the most. Hopefully the list will be made available and people can still get access the the actual books, if they can't afford access to the new RRKidz.

Two familiar faces from Star Trek: The Next Generation will be appearing on The Big Bang Theory in an episode to air next month.
Both actors will appear as themselves on the episode, due to air on October 13.
Wil Wheaton will be returning for his fourth appearance on the show and The Next Generation castmate Brent Spiner will be making his first appearance on the show.
On the episode, “Sheldon (Jim Parsons) makes Leonard (Johnny Galecki) choose, their friendship or a party at Wil Wheaton’s house. Tough one.” The CBS synopsis further adds that Wheaton is “Sheldon’s old nemesis.”
The Big Bang Theory, currently in its fifth season, airs Thursday nights at 8 PM on CBS.
I'm looking forward to this! I try to watch all the episodes of The Big Bang Theory, tho I've missed some over the years - lots of Sci Fi references. I've seen a couple of Wheaton's previous appearance - both were hilarious! Can't wait to see him again and Data!!!

I watched from the first and appreciate all the entertainment and memories. Thanks to Gene and all the talented people that made Star Trek come alive, and to live long and prosper!

I always felt the animosity blossomed because there was an expectation that this would be ensemble cast taking turns in the limelight, when it really became the triumverate of Kirk, Spock and McCoy having most of the lines and scenes.
And Shatner is egotistical.

With the release of Super 8 due next month, new clips of the J.J. Abrams’ movie have been emerging, giving movie fans an idea of what is in store for them.
The latest clip shows a train barreling down the railroad tracks towards a pick-up truck which is in its path.
A group of kids are filming at the train station with a Super 8 camera and are witness to the horrific accident. And that is *before* the train’s live cargo emerges to wreck havoc on the small Ohio town.

I saw Super 8 this week and found it really entertaining. It definitely made me jump a few times. I enjoyed the sci Fi story. The kids were very good particularly the girl character.
Did anyone else see it?

Frakes is an excellent convention guest. His wandering around the ballroom at times is very funny. I usually enjoy his directing efforts.

Does "I'm 'afraid' Shatner" won't be in the movie equal "scared Shatless"?
I know, I should have resisted.

About time!
I wonder whether the fan campaign was the prime factor in changing the mind of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce or if the fact that Koenig had suffered the loss of his son recently led to the decision.
Either way, he deserves this honor, which is overdue.

I'm guessing we all thought you were following this closely.
I mean, Weiner jokes are poping up all over, so to speak.

I voted for the Gorn, though the Horta and the Salt Monster are close seconds
