  1. It could, potentially,do more harm than good to trek.I know a lot of fans, including myself, who have some very definite ideas about Star trek that may not go over well with the majority of fans around the world...

  2. The Best of Both Worlds is my choice.I remember waiting for Part Two,wondering whether or not Picard was going to be killed along with the Borg,or what.To tell the truth,I was sort of looking forward to Riker taking command...though I wasn't a big fan of Shelby as exec.

I would've picked Star Trek:TWOK,but at the time I don't think many of us knew it was going to be a cliffhanger....as I recall,Leonard Nimoy was certain that he was finished with Star Trek at that point.

  3. Roland,The Gunslinger's Limbo World from the Stephen King "Dark Tower" series. That's one seriously twisted dimension.A world where long vanquished enemies could return from the dead to mete out their revenge on Archer and company(or be 'killed' again). This world is just so bizarre, with Arthurian knights, speghetti western cowboys, wizards, demon oracles, roaring 20's gangsters, modern day people, etc. It would blow their minds. And I haven't even mentioned all the monsters.... <_<

  4. If the Enterprise were destroyed, it's far more likely that Archer and crew would just be reassigned to the newest NX-class ship and far less likely that it'd be re-named Enterprise.  Then the name wouldn't fit.

You have a point. Its far too early in her voyages for this Enterprise to have destinguished itself enough, yet,to merit either the immediate relaunch of another ship of that name(if she is destroyed),or the A,B,C,D thing.Maybe in a few more years,or after a few more discoveries.

  5. I own virtually every papaerback TOS novel there is/that I know about.I haven't even come close to reading them all.I have more horror,sci-fi,fantasy,true crime, and war books than both of my neighborhood used book stores combined, and I just keep buying more and more and more.I'll never read 'em all,I guess. The last TOS novel I read was Chain of Command, which was fairly good.It reminded me a lot of Voyager, being stranded so far from home. But,of course,Kirk was in command instead of janeway,so our heroes made it back to the Federation in a matter of months rather than years!

He ain't lyin!Man,roguedawg's single handedly responsible for the destruction of the amazon rainforest!I read somewhere on these boards that you don't think I read, unc!I read, honest.Maxim,Sports Illustrated,etc,etc....I tried reading one of your Trek books once.It was okay, but there was so much techobable that it made the story incomprehensible,so I haven't tried any of the others.I'd rather watch the show. And I have to disagree with you on one point, big man,Enterprise rocks!

    Jolene.....drool

Watch yourself, kid.Disagreeing with your superior officer is a good way to find yourself floating in space! <_<

  6. I never understood why Kirk had to die at all. That really upset me.I would have liked thinking that he was spending eternity in the nexus, forever in command of the pre-refit Enterprise having the time of his life.I enjoyed the deleted scenes, though.Especially the orbital skydiving.Previously,I had only read about that scene in particular.Sounds fun! <_<

  7. Nope. What would be the point? The series writers are doing a fine job of hitting that self-destruct button all by themselves,hehehehe....I'm sorry.I shouldn't have even posted.Okay,I'll leave yall Ent fans alone now(really,I apologize).I just can't help yankin' your chains once in a while.(especially Cap'n Picard's). <_<

  8. I like the way Gene saw it;  actors make better aliens, not because they look like us, but because they act like us.  We can relate to them.  Species 8472 can't even speak.  CGI characters that speak tend to look ridiculous.  Also, they just don't look as real as other characters.  It reminds me that I'm watching a fake show.  Boo to the Xindi!

If the show has great writing,CGI aliens can be as effective if not more so than human actors. It is ridiculous to have so many humanoids running around, and the theory that a single humanoid race seeded millions of worlds is even more ridiculous. Why should we have to be able to relate to every alien species?Learning to accept and deal with ideas/philosophies that are alien to our own will teach us more about ourselves than constantly seeing aliens that we can point to and say,"Gee,I know just how he feels..."

  9. A few months ago I participated in a poll over at the startrek.com message boards that asked,"who was the most annoying Starfleet officer and why?".You could select a character from any of the various series' or films.Of course, the poll quickly turned into a frenzy of name calling, spammer accusations, and typical startrek.com immaturity.Thought I'd try it here.

I selected Captain Stiles of the Excelsior(Star Trek:The Search for Spock). His arrogance, his swagger stick, his pompous attitude...Grrr,I hated all of it.I almost wanted him to catch up to Kirk so he could get some of that cockiness beaten out of him.Guess I'll settle for the humiliation of having his precious transwarp drive engines disabled by Scotty <_< .

  10. I enjoyed Mr.Mot,too.Reminded me a lot of Mr.Bing, the barber I went to in my childhood(gave me my first haircut). The guy was a certified authority on every subject known to man and needed no prompting to tell you how he thought somebody or some job could have been done better,"If only....". <_<

  11. I just saw on HNN that Gregory Hines,a legendary tap dancer, and an actor passed away from cancer,he was 57 years old.Far too young for anyone to die. <_<

I think I first saw Gregory Hines on the horror film Wolfen when I was a kid.Since then,I have watched him in several other films. He was a talented actor. As a tap dancer,he was in a class all his own.He will be missed.

  12. The USS Ronald Reagan...

    Click for Spoiler:

    [ALIGN=center]header_front.jpg

He is a personal Hero of mine. When I am not watching Star Trek or reading about the Apollo program you can many times find me reading books about President Reagan. I've read his autobiography about 10 times in the past 12 years.

I haven't seen the USS Ronald Reagan since it's completion but I was lucky enough to see it as it's keel was being laid back in 1998 (I think it was 98).

My father hated Reagan, but I admired the man.Its wonderful to see him honored by the United States Navy with such a fine vessel. <_<

  13. Excellent advice. It may be a little far along in the summer for this, but you might also keep an eye on your kids when you are out at the lake/river.my neck of the woods has had a record number of drownings this year. And in most instances, the drownings were the results of kids goofing off while mom and dad weren't paying attention(i.e.,sitting up on the shore getting drunk,or paying more attention to the meat they are barbecuing than the kids). Its a shame. <_<

  14. On a suggestion by RikerChick I have changed the designation of "Anonymous Members" to "Cloaked Members" in the Online List. It goes with the theme of the board much better.

    Thanks for the suggestion RikerChick!

Great idea! And it goes perfectly with my Breen theme! Now,when I log-in I have a choice of entering the message boards 'cloaked'!I love it! <_<

  15. Even though I don't like Enterprise,I do feel Russell Watson's "Faith of the Heart" is the absolute finest theme music any Trek series has ever had.You can't not like this song.It stirs something down deep inside of you,and the images that accompany the music really compliment the music.I love this theme song and really, really want to buy the Ent CD just to get it.

  16. unfortunately my warbird was badly damaged so i can not get there.

I'm heading to Romulus in a couple of weeks,as a matter of fact.Romulans make excellent slave labour, and we Breen have better things to do than manual labour.I could give you a ride....but first, tell me Romulan, are you physically fit? What I mean to say is,do you think if necessary, you could swing a pick axe,or handle a mining drill? :dude:
