  1. There is no canon explanation so far as I know.In one of the TOS novels, can't remember which.....(this is non-canon),it was hinted at that Number One was given a command of her own after Pike's promotion.Though, obviously not Enterprise. :( It wasn't one of the Pocket Books paperbacks. It was older(70's). 2. My favorite soda is original Coke-a-cola.But,on occasion I'll grab something different like a Mello Yello.Mt.Dew is good, too.I tried a Mt.Dew LiveWire earlier this year.It was the most hideous concoction I have ever drank on purpose(shudder).... B) It should be illegal to sell that stuff!

  3. Baseball. The beginning of the MLB season is the only start to a major professional sports season that I look forward too,at least a couple of months in advance. Both my parents were baseball fanatics and I grew up just as enthusiastic about the sport.I read everything I could about MLB and the Negro Leagues, and after the film "A League of their Own",I read up on professional women's baseball.I love all of it.I follow local little league, high school, college(community colleges and NCAA division 1),and or course,MLB.I sometimes catch Fresno Grizzlies triple-A games(They have a great ballpark). My dad was in his late 40's when I was born, and in his youth he played in the Negro Leagues.I have several old photos of him and his teammates in the 40's.I hate to say,I've forgotten the team.....though I'm pretty sure it was Memphis.I also have a lot of autographed items from legendary San Francisco Giants(my dad's favorite team). In the 60's the Giants used to visit Fresno every spring and play the Indians. My dad drove for a limo service and met a lot of the players and got them to sign equipment and pictures for him. After he passed away I inherited his collections. My mom's a Cardinals fan.I love the Dodgers. 4. There have been no problems with the power here in California's central valley. At least, none that I've noticed at all today.I have been watching MSNBC,though, and heard that the east coast is in a bad way.Hope your power problems get straightened out soon.

  5. I bought my first computer this past June(prior to that my most recent experience with computers had been in Jr High back in the mid-80's working with the old Apple 2e's).So I knew nothing, and am still learning.Since my computer came with AOL already included i started out on the internet with them, and it was great for about a week....after I got my sea legs,so to speak,I started becoming annoyed with AOL.The download time was horrible.I was being disconnected from my server twice or more a night.Sometimes it took more than a dozen attempts just to get me on-line.So when I found out about SBC Yahoo and DSL I jumped at it.I don't regret leaving AOL.

  6. I love the uniforms from Star Trek:The Motion Picture. It looked like everybody aboard the Enterprise and at Starfleet headquarters was having one big pajama party!I personally liked Decker's uniform.Great color. And the big belt-buckle type monitors were a great accessory!Uhura looked mighty fine in her uniform with that big ol' afro.I just love everything about the film...uniforms,hairstyles,everything. :dude:

  7. Computer dummy here.Uh,I have McAfee Virus Scan and Firewall, plus I went to Microsoft's website and followed the instructions there for users of Windows XP.Does that mean I'm about as safe from this thing as possible?Or,should I do some other things?Any suggestions would be more than just appreciated....if my computer gets messed up I can't afford a replacement. :dude:

  8. Hmm.Might be expensive, but maybe you could look for a costume shop and have something custom made for you.Or,maybe they might already have something in stock(like for/from halloween).I'm not sure.I know of a few places, but they only sell the various Federation Starfleet uniforms.Sorry.

  9. I thought Odo's friend had remained in the alpha quadrant because he wanted to establish a colony for changelings who did not wish to remain with the Dominion? If he did, then he and Odo are now out of touch...and he is probably dead.

  10. And Jadzia looks far better in a mini skirt then Kira ever would.  Kira, no offense here, has J Lo butt syndome.  But outside of just looks, I would rather have Jadzia working on my side then Kira.  Kira is far too reactionary for my tastes.  I would rather have someone who could analyze any situation cooly and take the best possible course then someone who shoots first and asks questions later.

What's wrong with j-lo's butt?Maybe its the black in me,I dunno, but me likee big butts!(Sir Mix-A-Lot raps in the background...) Of course,I like Jadzia's butt, too.Man,what a decision....I guess I....dunno.If we're talking a match-up,not only of physical strengths, but leadership ability and intelligence, then I think Jadzia's the winner. She has experienced far more over the course of her symbionts multiple lifetimes than many people, including Kira. She always seemed a little reckless to me,too, though.A bit of Kirk in her.Whereas Kira was level headed. That would shift the balance to Kira in crisis situations..... I can't decide! Why can't I serve under both of them?(I really want to you know!) Okay,my pick is Jadzia Nerys.....or maybe Kira Dax.

  11. All I know is,is that I was a little disappointed at the end of Best of Both Worlds.I had heard from a friend that Patrick Stewart wanted out of TNG,and that Riker was going to take over the center seat with Shelby as exec(I couldn't stand Shelby!).Supposedly,Picard's humanity was going to resurface just long enough at the end to issue a command to the Borg to fly themselves into the sun, thus sacraficing himself in a last heroic gesture to save Earth and the Federation. He would have a heroes burial(without a body of course),and Riker would be awarded permanent command.I wanted to see this happen....but it didn't.And to be honest,Picard was always an excellent commanding officer. So,I got over my disappointment soon enough(seeing Shelby leave the Enterprise-D helped!).

  12. Definitely a TNG film, with a few TOS characters thrown in.Personally,I disliked the "passing of the torch" thing. The torch had obviously, already been passed(TNG had been on 7 seasons and was still hugely popular when Generations came out). And I still hate that they felt a need to kill Kirk.I know he's back in the novels, but I still don't like it.Despite this,I like Generations.Soran was a great villain, and it was fun to see the Duras sisters get vaporized.

  13. The only Star Trek films I have seen at the theater were Star Trek:TWOK and Star Trek:The Search for Spock, and I saw them at a drive-in.I loved going to the movies as a kid and hanging out with all of my friends and the other kids that happened to be there. My local drive-in had a playground at the base of the screen,so if a flick wasn't interesting thats where I could be found(or playing tag amongst the rows and rows of cars). Most times, though,I sat on top of my dad's car,or on the hood.I didn't much care for Star Trek, then, but I liked the special effects and the space battles. The battle between Enterprise and Reliant in the Mutara Nebula was riviting...my eyes were glued to the screen.
