  1. Everyone in my family firmly believes in  NASA and stuff like that-- as I type, I'm running seti@home in the background (aargh! Only 8.850%...).

roguedawg-- what about the shuttle Columbia? What did she think of that?

As for the radiation shielding necessary to get anywhere-- well, look at it this way. A few decades ago, you could have described the Internet and been told that it was scifi.

Believe it or not,she called it a publicity stunt. Now,don't go and say anything nasty about my mama.....she's just a bit odd. :spock:

  2. I like to watch the Osbournes occasionally.  I actually am a fan of Sharon Osbourne.  I mean, she put up with so much crap from Ozzie while he was still drinking and using drugs, stuck by his side, and got him cleaned up.  She manages Ozzie's career, and manages to keep everything running fairly smoothly at the mad house she calls home.  There is a deep love between she and Ozzie, and it's apparent whenever you see them together.  That woman has my respect!  As far as what job Kelly Osbourne should do on the Enterprise?  Doctor, of course.  You'd find her spending a lot of time in the f**king pharmacy!  :spock:

I agree completely. You know,Jack would have stayed behind on DS9 and gotten smashed at Quark's with Morn.He probably still wouldn't have noticed that Voyager and Kelly had left.

  3. That song,as sung by Nana Visitor, can be found on the Best of Star Trek Vol.2(CD),and may be purchased by visiting GNP/Crescendo Records website.Great song.I love the way Nana sings it.Of course,I love the way Nana does a lot of things . . . . . . :spock:

  4. I voted for Kai Winn.Never liked that !@#$! from the start.I actually felt sorry for Dukat,jack-booted thug that he was.In his own mind he was trying to return Cardasia to a more glorious era in her history(an era that probably never existed to begin with).Khan's single-mindedness in seeking out revenge on Kirk never made much since.I mean, the guy had a starship,an ultimate weapon, and the far flung corners of the universe to hide in.He could have found a planet and become the ruler he wanted to be on Earth in the 20th-century.I guess losing his wife made him snap. The Borg Queen,as for her,I don't think she really cares about how many deaths she causes in order to reach "perfection".Admiral Dougherty,he was a true scum bag, like Cartwright and Colonel West before him. There are a lot of great heels to chose from.

  5. Hmm.. I don't quite understand, why would he be unable to puncture one of the coolent tanks just because his emotion chip was activated? The chip does not make him forget his objective... or?

yeah but if you're overwhelmed with emotion, you tend to forget other objectives

If he was human I could understand that, but he is an android and the emotion chip doesn't change that..

Well, yeah,it does actually.....since with the chip activated,he's just as emotional and prone to doing stupid things as we humans are. :borgqueen:

  6. She'd have to be the pilot.I'm a fan of the Osbournes,by the way.I think Ozzy and Sharon are great. Can't stand the way Kelly treats her mother.Jack,...I just don't know about that guy.Would he really be getting all that female action if not for who his daddy was?Hmmm..... :spock:

  7. I remembered hating Bashir the first season of DS9.After that I kind of ignored him, until I found out he was a genetic "superman",like Khan. After that point he became a far more interesting character, and before too much longer i actually started liking the doctor.I think making him a genetically enhanced human being was a good play by DS9's writers. It saved the character from,at best, mediocrity.

  8. I like a lot of the fanfic I've read. Not so much the 70's-era stuff, where fans,it seems, were obsessing over some sort of implied 'gay' relationship between Kirk and Spock.Generally,if a story is well-written,stays true to the spirit of the series it is based on(and true to characterization),then I'm all for it.Otherwise,I'd just as soon not read it.Has anyone here stumbled across the tons of extremely x-rated Trek fanfic on the net? Some of it is just plain gross.I occasionally write Trek stories for my own enjoyment, and for a few of my friends to read(who only enjoy my stories because some of the characters are based on myself and them! :spock: ).I wrote more in high school than I do now.I'd really like to get back into it,but have to make the time.Previously all of my stories(which focus on none of the series, but on a starship of my own creation and my own characters)were set in the TNG-era.I want to do some TOS stories set in the mid-23rd century, with maybe the Orions as the chief protagonists of the UFP.I've had a few rough storyline ideas. If I do write anything, and get up the nerve to face all of your criticism, then I'll put something on the web.

  9. I'd watch the show.Especially if one of you guys were the "fan".I wouldn't want to literally find myself in the Star Trek reality.Call me crazy, but I like life on this polluted, war ravaged blue orb.I'd go nuts without a good fast food joint. That replicated health food they eat, yeck!!! :pepsi: Oh,yeah, and let's not forget Coke(I don't much care for Pepsi...but there's no coke emoticon). :spock:

  10. Is Hoshi even a Starfleet officer?I thought she was some sort of linguistic specialist they "drafted" into coming along on the mission, somewhat against her will?I dunno.I never watched more than a few minutes of Broken Bow.....Okay,I have to admit something.Lately,my nephew breencommander has convinced me to sit down and watch a few episodes of Ent he had taped....I kind of liked the shows. I know,I'm shocked.Maybe I'll give Enterprise a chance to make me a believer during the 3rd season.... :spock:

  11. Thanks for the heads-up.I get very few e-mails from my friends, and they never add attachments,so if any do pop up I'll immediately trash the suckers.I swear, don't these !@#$% have anything better to do than sit around and think up newer and better ways to destroy or damage other people's property? No,I guess not. They're all probably 40-years old geeks still living at home with momma, sitting in front of the computer 24/7. :spock:

  12. There are no specific rules or regulations preventing relationships between crewmembers aboard Federation/Starfleet starships. But,relationships between senior officers and their subordinates are frowned upon and not encouraged. It could lead to all sorts of problems(take Picard and Neela Daren on TNG).Despite this, how Kirk managed not to be entranced by the lovely Yeoman Rand,I will never know.Maybe he had so many other beautiful women he could afford to overlook his Yeoman?Lucky guy... :dude:

  13. I just wanted to tell everybody goodbye for a while.Tomorrow morning I will be taking my nephews on vacation. We're heading up north to the Bay area(Great America, the Winchester Mystery house, and San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf and,of course,Alcatraz!).I'll be back in about a week.Later! :)

  14. I voted for Jem'Hadar and Company, but only because the Breen were part of "and company".During the Dominion War,it was the Breen who nearly single-handedly took out the alpha quadrant alliance. The Breen developed the technology to bust through Federation,Klingon, and Romulan deflector screens. The Breen were invaluable to the Dominion war cause. In fact, the Breen could probably defeat any other major power listed in the poll in a one-against-one scenario. :tomcat: :tank:
