HELSINKI (Reuters) - A Finnish member of parliament is aiming for re-election by campaigning with a translation of his Web site into Klingon, used in the TV series Star Trek."Some have thought it is blasphemy to mix politics and Klingon," said Jyrki Kasvi, an ardent Trekkie. "Others say it is good if politicians can laugh at themselves."
He said his politics posed some translation difficulties, since Klingon does not have words for matters such as tolerance, or for many colours, including green -- the party under whose banner he is running in the national elections on March 18.
Non-warriors can also access the site, www.kasvi.org, in English, Swedish and Finnish.
I'm waiting for Obama or Hillary to follow suit. :)
Those two can appeal for the Trek vote all they want but they still aren't getting my vote!
That's a very good question.....sorry I don't have an answer for you. :P

The Sinise rumour has as much credibility as the Damon and Brody rumours because they all have come from the same source recently (IGN). It's not just some internet rumour that someone made up. As the article says until something is confirmed officially by Paramount everything is just a rumour. But the best rumours we have suggest that Sinise is a serious contender for the role.
You're correct. I think that the casting of the film will remain a mystery until the script is set and a Principle Photography Schedule is announced. It will, of course be a closed set, meaning that everyone will be sworn to secrecy. So, the only information that we'll be getting is whatever Paramount releases to us.
Sinise isn't really a serious contender for the role - that was just a rumor; however for those that don't know him.
His most famous role was probably that of Lt. Dan in Forrest Gump
He also played Ken Mattingly in Apollo 13 and won an emmy for his TV portrayal of George Wallace in Wallace. There have been several other roles but those are the most well known.
Do you personally know Mr. Sinise?

If I ever came face to face with that stupid lizard, I'd step on it. I hate that thing.
You're preaching to the choir on that one. :P
I bet that lizard would make a good taco.............
I wonder is lizard really does taste like chicken?

They killed off Starbuck?!! Now I know this show sucks!
This Starbuck is (or rather WAS) a hot babe!
I watched both shows, the original and re-tooled versions, and I like the latest incarnation better.
Eddie Olmos is outstanding as Admiral Adama.

I'm sorry that I missed yesterday's.
I'll try to be here for the next one.

It's a game that I've always wanted to learn, but never had the patience.

Russel Crowe as Kirk? Kirk with an Australian accent??... :P
He's been able to ditch the accent for other roles (such as "Mystery, Alaska"). He could do it again.
And Daniel Dae Kim as Sulu, good choice!

I laughed at the first few Caveman commercials, and every new one here and there makes me chuckle a bit, but some of them are pretty stupid too. I'll check out the show if I ever care to remember about it.
Well, better the Cavemen than that stupid gecko. I very much hate that gecko... I pretty much hate any commercial with talking animals/ inanimate objects. Pet peeve and all.
I couldn't agree more. The lizard bores me to tears.

Enterprise "E" wins.
Hands down.
No contest. :P
-
Or is it the other way around? :P

I love both of them equally.
Tribbles for the humor.
City for its seriousness.
-
Looney Tunes.
Far and above superior.
-
And now, TOS is gaining a whole new audience with the "Remastered" episodes. Which I never miss when they're on.

Battlestar Galatica, House, Law and Order-SVU, Prison Break, Spring Training baseball, NY Rangers Hockey,
The Unit and Criminal Minds.
-
I'm disappointed that they killed off Starbuck. :P
Other than that, I love the show and never miss it.
I knew that I had TiVO for a reason. :)

Love is color blind.
As it should be.

Pure Genius.
Nothing more. Nothing less. :P

I voted for Blade Runner. I always watch it whenever it's on TV. Someday, I should buy the DVD.
-
I'm going to see it no matter what!
I'll second that. I am wondering though, if they're going to do to Trek what they did to Battlestar Galatica. In BSG's case, it was vastly improved over its original series.
I don't think that Trek can be improved upon. But only added it its already impressive legacy.

To to think that he doesn't smoke, drink or do drugs.
And he still puts out genius stuff.
And if you haven't seen him in concert, make it a point to.
You'll leave holding your stomach because you've been laughing so hard. :P

An excellent episode. An interesting fact is that it was also also a pilot for a proposed series starring Gary Seven and Roberta Lincoln. Also interesting is that if you get the novel "The Eugenics Wars", you find out how very involved Gary Seven was with Khan.
I'll have to pick that one up. Thanks for the tip.

Some things just don't work. The ad spots are fine and very funny. But making them into a series?
I can't see it working. Like a lot of the SNL skits that they made into movies, only Wayne's World (first one) was any good. (IMO)
Have you forgotten The Blues Brothers?
The first Blues Brothers movie was great and the second one stunk.
Good looking out. I forgot that one.
