  2. Has any one here seen the new TV show "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy"? I first saw it on NBC but it now is on the Bravo channel. Its about 5 gay men who specialize in different categories like fashion, interior decorating, food, and culture and they do a complete makeover for straight men including re-doing his apartment. Its a pretty funny show and very entertaining for the whole family.

The most recent episode I saw was about a guy who wanted to ask his girlfriend to marry him,so the 5 gay guys went to his apartment and began making their plans.

While a couple of them take the guy out to buy a whole new wardrobe and get his hair cut,the others stay back at the house and re-do his whole place. They give his place a new paint job and buy a few new furniture pieces and get new bedding for the bed, the man who is the food expert finds out the guys girlfriend loves chocolate so he creates a chocolate mousse inside a large chocolate box,he then fills a white chocolate box with rasberries, and then he gets a small chocolate box for the straight guy to put the diamond ring to surprise the girlfriend with.

To me its funny watching this guy being dragged around town by these gay guys as they give him this makeover. By the end of the episode the girlfriend came over at dinner, enjoyed the chocolate and was stunned to find an engagment ring in the little chocolate box.Oh and she said yes to her boyfriends proposal!!!! :look:

If there is nothing else to watch on TV then I recommend this show, its entertaining and a little informative to us straight guys who want to romance the ladies!

  3. The only actor from Voyager I've met was Tim Russ (Tuvok) at a Star Trek convention in Ft.Lauderdale, FL. about 6 years ago. He was a very nice person and I enjoyed chatting with him a few minutes before he made his appearence on stage.

    I've also met a few actors from TOS,TNG,and DS9

  4. It all sounds good to me! I can't wait for the new season!

Star Trek has always done some shows that reflect whats going on in todays culture.Thats been one of the things that attracted me to the show.

If it gets too liberal for you and you stop watching then that will be your loss.Star Trek likes to open minds and get people to think and conservatives could certainly use that from time to time :wow:

  5. It seems they have done well and I have no doubt they will exceed the amount they need. I too have gotten tired of hearing all the negative remarks about Enterprise, and alot of the negativity started before the show ever aired. It seems alot of folks from the beginning did not like the idea of going back in time before events on TOS. I myself became very excited about this prospect of seeing the birth of the Federation and Starfleet and so far I have not been disappointed,Enterprise continues to get better and better and in my opinion it is already equally as good as any other Star Trek series.

  6. I was already there to watch the first Star Trek episode air so now I too feel old :wow:

I would like to go back and see historical events take place.Find out things like who really assasinated President Kennedy or sit on the shore in Hawaii and watch the attack of Pearl Harbor,or maybe even watch as the confederate rebels fire the first shots at Fort Sumter starting the Civil War.As a history buff it would be great just to be an observer

  7. Anyone here like the Grateful Dead? I'm a big fan of them and saw them about 8 times in concert before front man Jerry Garcia died. I attended a memoral gathering for Jerry in Central Park in New York a couple of days after his death. It was the last time I was surronded by a large group of Deadheads.

The best thing about a Dead concert was it was always part circus, flea market, and concert. You always arrived about 5 or 6 hours before the show and wandered about the parking lot where people sold everything from tie-dye tee shirts and love beads to drums and mushrooms.

Those were truly the good ole days!
