I have to split my vote between "Competent Officer/Engineer" and, recently, "backdrop for T'Pol". I will always see Trip as that first choice, but this is a topic as to how we think the writers are treating the character (at least that's what I got from the title). In this respect, yes, he's now sometimes used just as T'Pol's scenery. Just imo.

And that was my point - not just how we see Trip but what the writer's are doing to him this season. And he is becoming way too much of a backdrop

I don't see him as a back drop at all, he's right up front and is doing a great job. He is one of the best Trek characters out now.

I can't wait! This will be a great Survivor, I'm looking forward to seeing Rupert again, maybe he'll go head to head with Sue, the truck driver from the first survivor!

Its seems Jake has gone the way of Firefly, another great show cancelled before it was given a chance.

I think we will see her again. At the end of the episode she was reluctant about giving the Xindi the info they wanted and she didn't like it when she did give it. I think she'll be back and this time she'll be helping Archer against the Xindi.

I voted Jayne for my favorite, but Kaylee comes in at a close second. I enjoyed every one of the characters, this was a great show and its ashame the Fox network decided to just pull it before it finished its season! (I mean come on, 3 episodes left, why pull it? They should have finished out the season.)

I voted Jaynestown, That was a funny episode and Jayne was my favorite character.

I went with DS9, but I enjoy most of the shows mentioned.

I'm going with Enterprise, but I will say that Stargate is an excellent show as well. To me they are both pretty equal in good characters, stories, and special effects.

This was an excellent episode! Jeffery Combs as usual was awesome. The whole Mining Consortium bit had me laughing my butt off.One of the best episodes this season.

I also agree with MoulinRouge and Alterego. I saw nothing odd in it at all.Archer knew that without giving a direct order to Trip and let him know he's not kidding about it , that Trip probably would try something and endanger himself.

Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series is a very good read. There are 5 books out now I believe.

My thoughts will be with his family on this anniversery. Its always sad when a brave warrior goes down.

If you mean being pushed around like in Chosen Realm, the entire crew was under orders to do nothing except what the captors told them to do. Whanna see T'Pol kick rear-ends? Watch Marauders

Thats correct, She was noy going to do anything until she recieved orders from Archer. T'Pol and Phlox are the only ones that knew he was still alive so why risk a problem when you know the Captain is working a plan?

Archer did the right thing and pulled the wool over D'Jamat's eyes. He retook the ship and saved lives. Court Marshell? hell he deserves a medal!

I for one hope they do show the Daedalus class ship, maybe towards the end if Enterprise's run. And I hope they leave it the way most of us know the ship looks like.

Great episode!!! I gave it a 9.5. A very well written story and perfectly acted by all. Archer was great in this one.This is certainly one of the best episodes this season. Kudos to the Roxann Dawson for great directing.

I hope they don't show the Roswell grey's, that would totally ruin the Star Trek continuity. It was already established in the "Deep Space Nine" episode "Little Green Men" that the Ferengi were the aliens that crashed in Roswell, in fact it was Quark, Rom, and Nog.

So any other aliens would not be acceptable as Roswell aliens.

I saw Jolene Blalock on Letterman before, it would be good to see more Enterprise characters on Letterman.

So far the timeline and continuity of Star Trek is intact. TPTB have done a fine job preserving it.

I don't believe this episode will be anything like "Live Fast and Prosper" from Voyager. I'm looking forward to seeing this episode! This 3rd season is by far the best season so far. Enterprise is a great show!

UH, if I didn't know any better I'd think your trying to keep Trip all to yourself!
