What a delightful conversation that has turned out to be.

Hey Kev, can I borrow $15,000 to $20,000?
-
Um, okay. It wasn't very funny.

Actually my math was wrong, it is less than 200 light years away. We know this because Archer predicted that the message the resurrected Borg sent should reach the Delta Quadrant at light speed in about 200 years. No, they said 200 years for a subspace message to get there. Subspace travels faster than light. Case in point, Archer talking to Admiral Forrest while dozens of light-years away from Earth without the messages taking dozens of years to go from one to the other.

Remember, the Delta Quadrant is less than 400 light years from Earth,Um, how do you figure that? The Beta Quadrant is the closest quadrant, and even that's not that close.

The Yankees did not say to whom or at what Reisman, 40, would throw the ball. They were planning on throwing it at a certain cat, but the crushed all hope of that happening... with an artillery shell...

To quote myself from another topic...
I doubt assimilated Jem'Hadar would need Ketracel White. While the Jem'Hadar are genetically engineered to need it, the Borg are known to use genetic manipulation to alter drones, both for specific uses and for drone standardization. A little genetic manipulation, and the White is no longer needed. -

It was 84 degrees at the beach I went to today. Don't know what the water temp was, but I can tell you that it was cold enough to make my body go numb. Interesting sensation... getting a sun burn while freezing your (choose a body part) off.

That's a hell of an accident. Poor cat. Sleeping at the wrong place at the wrong time.

I say mix it up. One week do a theme, the next week go random, etc.
As for a theme, I say Enterprise-related. And I don't mean the series, I mean specific questions about every starship named Enterprise.

Clear and 60 degrees, though it still feels warmer than that.

I thought it was every other week... one week with trivia, one week without. Not one week trivia, two weeks without.

Sam Adams recalls beerPosted Apr 7th 2008 3:27PM by Bob Sassone
Filed under: Beer, Business, Health & Medical
Now the recall mania has hit beer lovers.
Today we told you about Malt-o-Meal cereal being recalled, and now comes word that Sam Adams is recalling beer because some bottles might have glass fragments in them. Only 12 oz bottles of Sam Adams beer in brown bottles are being recalled. The bottles are from a third party that supplies bottles to Sam Adams, and the glass was discovered during routine inspection at its Cincinnati plant. The bad bottles have an "N35" and then an "OI" stamped near the bottom (see pic).
This is one of my nightmares about drinks and food that come in glass bottles, whether it's beer or pasta sauce or mustard or whatever. I'm really surprised that something like this doesn't happen more often.
Whats the big deal? A REAL beer drinker can drink beer and chew glass at the same time..... :)
Hell, real beer drinkers stick the full bottles in the freezer, and then eat them whole, bottle, cap, and all, while frozen. They call it "dinner." Or they can stick a bratwurst inside it first and then call it a sandwich.

I see nothing wrong with it. There should be a database which has everyone DNA, criminal history (or lack of one), medical records, employment history, and... well, I can't think of anything else.
Of course, only certain people would be able to access it, and even then they'd get information relevant to their profession. For example, police officers would only see whether or not you're on probation/parole (and for what, if you are), or if you have any warrants for your arrest. Potential employees would see only your employment history (and in their case, there should be an extra level of security). Paramedics and doctors would be able to see only your medical history, so they'd know right away whether or not you're allergic to any medications, or if you'd had any recent medical issues that they should be aware of.
It's the idea of such a database that scares me. It's people who manage to find ways to abuse it that scare me.
