  1. I first watched TOS when I was very very young. I can't remember how old I was but I was old enough to remember that the captain was also a policeman. I didn't get hooked then. Later in my late teens, my ex girlfriend introduced me to ST. I couldn't understand why she was so fascinated with the show. But for her sake, I'd watch it. I discovered the captain was a different man. He was bald. (Picard). That's when I started getting mildly hooked.

Couple of years back, I discovered a treasure of Star Wars vs Star Trek fan fic online and started reading. That's when I really got hooked to Star Trek. Although I'd say TNG was the one that really got me hooked, I think my first contact with ST would be TOS. That was what planted the seeds.

  2. Did you watch the theater version or the Director's cut? The Director's cut version is magnificient and is almost like watching a whole new movie. They did a fantastic job with it. Its much more watchable than the theater version.

What is the difference between the Director's and the theater's? I've watched it over a VCD and I just cannot tell which version is it?

  3. That sound was one of the coolest in it's day.

    He played Kirk's nephew.

    Peter Kirk

    Played by Craig Hundley

Episode: TOS 029 - Operation: Annihilate!

George and Aurelan Kirk's son and James Kirk's nephew. In 2267 the Denevan neural parasites orphaned Peter. He was taken to the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 until cured and then transported to Starbase 10.

.......and on his 18th birthday, Kirk bought him a hooker........ :assimilated:

Is that canon? I mean the hooker thing.

  4. Dark Reality, I don't think what you saw or took with your camera was correct. It is most people's perception that John played some sort of auditor. From my professional point of view, he actually was playing Q from the ST universe and we ALL know that Q can do anything. He actually decided to visit SG1. Really, he's not dead. Q can't die. They really can't.....

*** rants on and on ****

really its impossible. Q can't die. No way.

    :assimilated:

**** rants on some more ******

  5. It made me wonder because Dearna could lock onto the cloaked Scimitar in Nemesis. Does this make Betazoids effective against cloak ships?

If they concentrate real hard, like Dearna in Nemesis, couldn't they detect enermy strategies?

She was locking on to Viceroy's mind then, so if a betazoid were to locate a cloaked ship there would have to be a telepath onboard who's mind the betazoid is familiar with.

IMO the Betazoids could probably use their powers with weapons like the Vulcans. And if Betazoids could use their powers collectively then they could make an even powerful weapon.

About the weapons part... using their powers with weapons. I've not seen it done. Could you explain furthur?

  6. At this point all I'd take from this is that the company that runs the ST.COM website is shutting down, that doesn't mean that ST.COM will also and it in no way means that Star Trek is "dead" either. It also won't affect STF.NET in terms of our existance, we'll still be here.

    Thank God for that.

  7. I was wondering how effective are the Betazoids in space battle. In a starship, let assume its the Akira class, with a crew of Betazoids, would you say they would make a formidable enermy? I mean they could probably read minds minds and if their tactical officers violate others minds, they would probably be able to anticipate what their enermies would want to do. What do you think?

  8. I cannot watch a show with De Lancie acting in it without thinking, "Hey! That's Q!" Same as the case with Data and Spiner, I cannot see John as anything else other than Q. I think that's the best role he's ever played.

  9. There's this alien shapeshifting being that Kirk kissed in Undiscovered Country, what is she and is she anything like Odo's shapeshifting? That's one alien I would like to see more.

She said she was a chameloid. I'm guessing it's different from Odo's people.

How much do we know about the Chameloid? And then there was a time when Wesley fell inlove with a shapeshifting princess. It just seems that the Federation have met quite a few shapeshifting species prior to Odo. Well, I certainly would like to see more of these Aliens.

I think Odo is more like liquid, isn't he? What do you think guys?
