  1. We've had bats living in the eaves of our house... now *that* is a ton of fun!

I've seen raccoons, squirrels. a duck once and a turtle once.

The turtle must have been someones pet... I don't think they're indigenous.

Also, for some reason, our house attracts lost or abandoned animals like you wouldn't believe. We've got another stray cat hanging around who I'm trying to befriend.

In the neighborhood, we have coyotes, skunks, possums and who knows what else.

  2. I've never had the luck to travel much... I've still got 37 states to go before I've seen all of the US!

    I'd like to see:

    New York City

    Missouri (where my dad's from)

    Maine

    Walt Disney World

    Las Vegas (again)

    Mexico

    Greece

    Egypt

    Ireland

(I'll settle for a road trip to the Oregon coast right now though!)

  3. Do you still work there? <-----dumb question

    I'm happily self-employed now!

Of course, idiocy wasn't just reserved for the customers. When I was in shipping, we shipped something to Ontario, California. A week later we got a call wondering where the package was....

UPS has sent it to Ontario, Canada and it was being held in customs!!! :assimilated:

  4. I had a space of about three years in my life where all I did was hang out with my coworkers. I work from home now, so it'd be a huge party... me hanging out with me, ya know? :assimilated:

But when I was working 90 hours a week, they were the only people I saw, so we'd go out after work. I lived with coworkers, dated coworkers, hung out with coworkers... it just went on and on. I'm still close friends with a couple of them.

I'd hate to see what I would've gotten had there been questions about conspiracy theories! That's my specialty.

Haha... well, the test told me something I already knew anyways! :assimilated:

  6. I loved this ep enough to watch it 3 times last night! Yeah, watched it while taping it, watched it again and then watched it when hubby got home!

I am very impressed with the way Trinneer has developed as an actor... not just a pretty face anymore! And the scene where...

    Click for Spoiler:

T'Pol is trying to comfort Trip and she explains that Vulcans have emotions, but lose control of them if they let them out.

That was a very touching scene.

Anyone else notice that LeVar Burton directed this one? We should let him direct all of them! :naughty:

I'm really hoping the rest of the season is as strong as this ep!

  7. You know, I remember seeing something with Jonathan Frakes where he said there was only one bathroom on the Enterprise (not sure which one).

I'll have to find the tape and see if I remembered right!

  8. I used to manage a restaurant, so I heard all kinds of dumb questions all day...

"How many pieces of fish come with the 3-piece fish & chips?"

    (I heard this almost daily)

"How many pieces of fish do you get with the all you can eat special?"

(I heard this one almost as often)

"Can I get an all you can eat to-go?"

(you wanna come back when you need a refill?)

    "Do fries come with that?"

(ok, let's see here... fish and.... what was that other thing?)

Then I also spent some time working in shipping...

"Can you get this to (state) by today?"

(yup, let me just go charter an airplane... it'll be around $1500)

    Conversation:

"can you Fedex this for me?"

"sure how fast do you need it to get there?"

    "Fedex!!!"

"yes, we have that service, when would you like your package to be delivered?"

    "Fedex!!!"

"Do you need it there tomarrow?"

    "No, I need it Fedex!!!"

    Another one:

"Can you get it there tomarrow?"

(tomarrow, in this case being a Sunday)

Customer standing in front of the envelope rack:

    "Do you sell bubble envelopes?"

(nah, they're just there for decorations)

    The last-minute holiday rush:

"What do you mean you can't get it there for Christmas???"

(Christmas is tomarrow, everyone's taking the day off)

    Person with no clue whatsoever:

"How much will it cost for me to ship this bird to Florida?"

(you want it to get there alive? Then don't mail the freakin thing!)

  9. Umm, am i the only one who thinks they completely forgot about DS9/Voy?

I get the impression the writers would have a time making a DS9 or VOY film based on the ways in which those series ended. I'd go see it if they did though.

The whole 3-part prequel rumor that's going around really has me worried. I think that it'll just contribute to the non-sci-fi fans' confusion as to the difference between Star TREK and Star WARS. :frusty:

I mean, it might be cool to see something based on the Eugenics Wars or something like that... but like I said before... I'm skeptical. Very skeptical.

  10. I'm a freak. I lurked over a week before I decided to join. I don't like to join a board until I have a good feel for the place and I'm sure I have the time to keep up on it.

With that said, I was very impressed with the people here so I decided I'd join and try to make sure I popped in at least once a day. :frusty:

  11. I used to be a late-nigth walker. I'd take off around 8pm and come home after midnight. It's really neat to walk around at night time. Very refreshing. But at some point the neighborhood started going downhill so I stopped walking.

Now I like to go out in the mid-afternoon, weather permitting and walk around local parks. I like to go to a different park every day, so I'll hop in the car with my water bottle and find a place I haven't been for a while.

I was hoping to go out today in fact, but we had a mini-monsoon and that was enough to keep me in. :frusty:

  12. I tend to bend the rules. Knowing that and the fact that I couldn't stand to see a civilization distroyed, then I would violate the Prime Diective if there was no other way to save the people.

Compassion, after all, is a big part of humanity.
