  1. I think it's probably just loafing and watching something you like that makes you feel better, not necessarily Star Trek.

I don't know... I used to really like Stephen King but reading The Stand didn't make me feel better when I had the flu. LOL Seriously you're probably right. Nothing makes me feel better when I'm not 100% than watching Trek.

Well reading is actually hard work! You don't have to be too engaged to watch television. Especially if it's something you've seen before. :P

  2. Never been drunk, actually.

Thats a shame. put it on your bucket list...lol

I just don't see the appeal. It doesn't seem like a very pleasant experience. And to be completely honest, I've never actually had alcohol at all! It's not that I don't drink on principle or anything... I'd just rather have a soda or water or something. *shrugs*

  3. Pardon me for being the cynic but the American people don't get a lot of choice in choosing their officials because they get little choice in choosing the candidates. Those are chose by special interest groups - powerful organization and individuals that pour money positioning their candidate into the headlines. In other words we may get to vote in the November election but hve little say in who will be running in the Nov election.

Well there are the primaries, but I agree the choice in the general election is limited. Is this the time to discuss the merits of a multi-party system? Personally, I don't know how this is ever going to change without introducing a viable third party. Or if there suddenly is a major split in the platforms/ideals of the two existing parties. Right now all the Republicans have going for them is that they're not Democrats. I mean... that's not really a choice at all, is it?

  4. Not really; it's still early. I did have the fortitude to get up early and work out, so that was pretty cool.

But what made my day yesterday? My mom works at a library and over Christmas, she gave me a big Phantom of the Opera book. She told me it was in a pile of books the library was getting rid of and she rescued it for me. I just started looking through it yesterday and it had a history of the Paris opera and some stuff about the original book and the 1925 movie and a couple of other movies. Then it had tons and tons of pictures and stories about the Andrew Lloyd Webber version. Oh, it was awesome. But what made me gasp in total surprise was when I flipped the page and saw a big old title page staring back at me with the words "Libretto." I leafed through the section and it was all there. Every word, every song. Wow! If I ever need a Phantom fix, I can put on my original cast recording, and read along, pausing the track during the dialog. I can play every part. It was such an awesome find! I will definitely have to read through the rest of that book one day rather than just flipping through and looking at the pictures. :)

  5. Lol, Stephen I'm twenty-three and I've never had a boyfriend. Meanwhile my eighteen-year-old sister has had at least three. Don't let it get you down, there's plenty of people in the same boat.

Personally, it's never been a priority for me. I'm not opposed to the idea, but it's not like I think about it. I actually like being on my own. And people just don't understand why I like to do things alone. My sister told me once there was a movie she wanted to go see but didn't because she didn't have anyone to go with. Umm... what? If you want to see a movie, go see the movie. She says, "No you can't go see a movie alone." And I asked her why not? It's not like you sit and talk to them while the movie is playing. There isn't any social interaction going on. The movie is not better when someone you know is there and it is not worse in their absence. Going with someone changes the movie experience in one way: you have someone to talk to before it starts. Apparently I'm just too practical.
