  1. If they kill archer then how does the Prime Directive come about? Didn't he say something along the lines of "we aren't out here to tell others how to live, maybe in the future we'll have a rule, a Prime Directive, which says how we're supposed to handle such things, but right now we have to police ourselves" ?

Exact qoute, from the 1st season episode 'Dear Doctor':

"Some day, my people are going to come up with some sort of a doctrine, something that tells us what we can and can't do out here, should and shouldn't do. But until somebody tells me that they have drafted that directive, I'm going to have to remind myself that we didn't come out here to play god." - Archer to Phlox.

    Need i say more?

  2. Wow, i made tina's first list and in a good way, thanks tina!!! :) :) Oyy, if it weren't for my teflon mind i'd have a whole bunch of people listed (hmm, already listed tina didn't i?), so here goes my attempt:

    VBG - For making a heck-of-a-site!!!

Alterego - For being a great VP? :)

Jim phaserman- Nice to see a bud from the "old place"

Nem - For never ceasing to amaze me (but not for the right reasons :) )

Tina - For including me on her list and bringing up some good points in the threads

Julie - Nice to see you again!!! :)

*pulls out the rest of the names on his list that nearly rivals santa's)

  3. While i don't want to see any of them go, i'm getting tired of hoshi, she doesn't really do anything aside from take calls. I'm not saying they get rid of the actor though, they could replace hoshi's character with one that maybe has a biological UT sorta like Arturis. Wait, hasn't a species been mentioned that previewed in TMP that does that? Maybe something to consider.

  4. Since they are doing this with the military's families, i think that makes them liable for a lawsuit under government rules, am i right? I think they're breaking some law by doing this and to claim it's ok because it's on a contract means nada since a service was not used/provided. I heard something about this i think on a prior case.

  5. V'Ger was mentioned in 'The Return' by spock, something about a residual memory i think.

    Click for Spoiler:

Well, in william shatner's 'The Return', one of the big surprises is that spock recognizes that V'Ger shares the borg's signature, and is in fact an offshoot of the borg.

  6. For am it's KNSS newstalk, to hear neal boortz, i listen to KFH (fm) at night during coast to coast am, amd i listen to B98 (sorta classical?), KFDI (fm country), and KZSN (also fm country). I would listen to KFH more but they stoped broadcasting dreamland and the warp zone (a sci-foo talk show :force: ).

  7. Oyy, tell me about it. I opened a checking account a while back, but it didn't take long before i found out they were charging $5 bucks a month as a service fee (i wasn't told about this when they bragged about the "free" checking). Me and my mom were able to get them to return the money and switch it over to a checking account where you pay for the checks, but still :naughty: .

  8. Well, to start out, what about the "universal service fees" that supposedly are to cover the cost of service given to govt, isn't that almost ALWAYS higher then what the govt charges? While i'm on govt, we have in my state a tax on mortgages, yes, mortgages. As if these weren't bad enough that you practically are REQUIRED to have one, there's a tax on the dang thing. Isn't the mortgage like a tax almost anyways?!!! And this is something i have recently had to deal with (cause i've been, more or less, forced to get glasses so i can drive :naughty: ), are glasses, or to be more specific the frames. Why do these frames cost over 100 dollars when most are made over in china?!!!! Isn't that fairly BLATANT price gouging?!!!

  9. Ok sorry, i didn't realize till after i posted how badly worded that was. What i meant was, why didn't they just create the First Contact uniform for Generations and use it from then on? And what i meant by "battle version" and "exploration version" is simply because it seems like if it weren't for the recent conflicts the First Contact uniform might not exist, and the First Contact uniform, since it does exist would have made the "uniform standard error" in Generations moot, as the costume department would've easily distinguished between the tng uniform and the First Contact uniform. :flowers:

  10. Although i don't like the fact this is even an idea to consider and that there aren't at least MORE PLEASENT choices for us :flowers: , i picked the last one simply because at least he'd die doing something he liked. But dangit, why can't you people just be glad they showed a "geek/nerd" kid on the show who happened to be popular AT LEAST 1/2 the time?!!!

  11. You know, if paramount had at least kicked berman out and gotten someone in to head the show who LISTENED to the fans half the time this wouldn't even be an issue, what we need to do is fax (i say fax because emails can be disregarded too easily :flowers: ) them and say berman has GOT to go for the sake of Enterprise!!! Now, can anyone help me figure out how to do that with my comp?

  12. I have more star trek magazines then i do communicators, it's a bummer they stoped making the magazine because it really went into more detail on the technical apsects of the shows then communicator seems to (i have some of those btw, one i got free at a sci-fi convention :flowers: ). Don't get me wrong, the communicator mags are pretty cool, they just don't cover the technical issues like the magazine did.

  13. Why didn't they just go with the "First Contact" uniform from Generations and use it on DS9-onwards? Wouldn't that of made things easier? I think it'd be kinda hard to confuse the "battle version" with the "exploration version" don't you? :flowers:  .
