  1. Ol Yellow Eye's definitely! It's not just cuz it's Brent Spiner, it's cuz I LOVE his voice (sigh) and the songs to. I don't have a copy either, but I downloaded some of the songs on Kazaa. This is only temporarily, mind you, until I can find that CD.

  2. Notice how once he met Data he changed his mind? If only everyone in the world would give everyone else a chance before judging them (Maddox did, however, end up calling Data "he". And didn't Data, in Data's Day - which I've only seen once - say was sending a report to Maddox? or was that Haftel? Now I'm confused...)

  3. Oh Come on!!! Sorry sorry..this isn't meant meanly and I respect all other opinons ..But Laren was the best! True whenever she was on an ep you knew she wag going in Maqui Style or because it gave her the chance to get frisky with Riker :) But when she was on an ep, it made the whole show so much more interesting. Q would be a goof and Lore would be centered around Data and god didnt Laxwana get tiresome after a while..Laren was a good looking girl with a brain and brass to back it up..Picard was intimadating and she stood her ground..if only cuz she felt she owed him that much and because of her characters hard life..I wish she had been a full time member..instead of all that Wesley fluff.

I'm positive I answered to this quote already, but I can't find it anywhere. Oh well; here it is again:

Ro Laren was a great character (the best of all TNG females IMO. Tasha...she was good, but, well, we know why - it never happened :) , crusher was whiny and didn't seem to have too much of a personality, Troi was a pain in the...neck for 90% of the show, and Pulanski just...wasn't my favourite character. I guess it was mostly b/c of how she treated Data, also because she seemed very cynical: "As Dr Pulanski would say if she were here - Life is not always fair" - Data, Measure of Man)

  4. I know I'm gonna get killed for this: I hated Maddox too, but not as much as everyone else seems to. Obviously I don't like people who make snap judgements, especially before they've even met teh person, but I don't think he was that bad. And, like everyone else, he did reconsider in the end.

  5. I remembered the whole thing, and I had only seen the ep once (until a few weeks ago, when I got the season 1 DVD and now watch that ep over and over and over). And Riker was all rude when he finished the song for Data. If someone can't do something, it's really rude to show off how well you can. And only 42! Which is even worse in the future because then the life expectancy has increased to what, 110? or 120? In which case he lived a third of the life he should have IF HE WAS HUMAN!!

  6. Believe me DSBS, if you KNEW my coworker you'd want to throw something at him too! The part of him that I kinda think is Riker-esque is that he flirts with all the women, including me. He kinda thinks that he is God's gift to women, married, single, younger or much older. . .he does not care he thinks he's a stud. He hates this and I DID tell this to his face. . .THE SIGHT AND SOUND OF HIM MAKES ME WANT TO THROW UP! He is also has bizarre mood swings (yes this is a GUY here!) hes happy and saccharine one moment and then full of depression and mild anger  the next! I sometimes wish I could run screaming out of the building just to get away from him!

Lol, stop! hehehe....I know, I hate those guys too, and there's nothing you can do or say to get them off their high horses.

  7. Oh no, not for a short while, that'll just open old wounds and then we'll all be clinically depressed again. I agree with what someone said: Bring him back or give him a decent memorial (Spock, who saves a ship, gets a huge, overblwn, exaggerated ceremony, Data, who saves the ship AND earth AND the galxy (cuz once they take over earth, you know what's next) and he gets a toast and Riker DOESN'T EVEN REMEMBER THE SONG HE WAS WHISTLING! Everyone knows that!!!) :)

Ok, just warning you: Don't get me started on this topic, I can't help myself, ok? I'm sorry.

  8. Lt. Cmdr. Shelby in Best of Both Worlds bugs the heck out me.

I don't dislike Worf overall but there are times when I don't like him.  The way he would make faces when his suggestions were rejected or the incredible lack of respect he showed Data in Gambit.   :)

I'm not much of a Dr. Crusher fans either.  In Thine Own Self when she is talking to Troi and says that for many years she didn't think about her rank because it isn't as important as saving lives seemed to sum up her attitude.  Rank isn't as important, the Prime Directive isn't as important, the safety of her crewmates isn't as important, etc.    :)

I agree completely with you soong_girl! My we have a lot in comon

Anyway, another person that kinda really bugs me. . .it's Riker (And yes, I do know that I may get really grilled for this)OK, maybe it is because of the way he was during Data's trial in "The Measure Of Man". I know he was forced to be on Maddox's side, but to me, he seemed like he was getting too into trying to prove that Data was nothing but a machine! That, and I guess I am just not interested in Riker-type men (believe me I work with one,and I really just want to throw something very heavy at him! :) ).

Throw something heavy at him - that's great, lol. I don't like Riker much either (I like the way he treats Data, though). And Beverly was annoying at times, but she was ok. (I liked Pulanski better, actually). and, as I said, I HATED the doctor!

  9. Thanks soong_girl. And great quote. I'll fix the typos right now. Oh, and I have a quote to add:

Data: Why did you create me (long convo that I like, but want to get to the point).

Soong: Why don't people tear down old houses? Why? Why?

Data:...so they have a tie to the past. Humans are not imortal and they need continuity (I know, way off. Shhh).

Soong: So does this continuity only run one way? backwards?...So why do people have children?

Data: Also for continuity and leaving a legacy. I believe that answers your question.

Soong: and yours too, I think.

(Oh crud. I can't remember the exact words, not even close!! - haven't seen that ep in a while. MUST GET SEASON 4 ON DVD!! But I liked the conversation)
