Season 6 is amazing (and Data in the special features!!)
Quality of Life is one of my favourite episodes of all Trek.
-
Hey, congrats Soong_girl, you're a commander.
And good. We don't want to cheapen his death (although sometimess I think almost anything would preferable to the current situation)
-
Luckily, as long as there are Data fans we can believe whatever we want - it is trek after all; who says we're wrong? Although it would be preferable if our belief became canon.
-
Has anyone read the Nemesis edition of the Star Trek Mag? Brent is messing with our heads! At the beginning of the interview, he says "who says Data's dead?" and at the end, he says "oh no, Data's dead"!!
Ummm? a little help here?
-
Soong_girl, you changed your picture! If it's in season 6 I'll see it soon. I'm watching all the episodes in order and I just saw Fistfull of Datas.
actually, in the short period of time I have been on the boards tonight, I think she has changed picture two or three times. . . .hee hee not that I'M complaining, when you think WHO the pictures are of!!!
Ya, I just noticed too. Soong_girl, where'd you get the picture? (it's a really good one)

Hehe, thanks celtic swimmer. By the way, what season is Frame of Mind?
-
Exactly. And she didn't seem to have much of a reason, which I guess is my biggest problem.
My, we've gotten a little off-topic...this used to be about our least favourite characters. And yet we still manage to get back to Data, lol

What's this about Picard at McDonalds? I'm confused...
Sounds like an interesting band. I think I'll try them out too.
I don't drink either by the way. How good can music be if you have to be drunk to like it, anyways?
-
Well, if not earth, jupiter, or neptune.
-
I wonder if they'll let me stay at Lt. Cmdr. as a protest against DATA (Discrimination Against Data the Android)?
-
I was watching Deja Q today. It is one of my favourites. There were so many great lines in that episode that I have to add a few more:Q to Picard:
Q: Because in all the universe you're the closest thing I have to a friend Jean-Luc.
Q to Worf:
Q: Oh perspicacity incarnate. Please don't feel compelled now to tell me the story of the boy who cried "Worf".
Q and Data
Q: What are you looking at.
Data: I was considering the possiblity that you are telling the truth that you are human.
Q: It's the ghastly truth Mr. Data. I can now stub my toe with the best of them.
Data: An irony. It means that you have achieved in disgrace what I have always aspired to be.
In Ten Forward
Guinan: Seems human enough to me. (after stabbing Q with a fork)
Q on the Bridge
Q: I'm immortal again, omnipetent again.
Riker: Swell.
Riker: I don't need your fantasy women.
Q: Oh you're so stolid. You weren't like that before the beard.
"Q: What are you looking at.
Data: I was considering the possiblity that you are telling the truth that you are human.
Q: It's the ghastly truth Mr. Data. I can now stub my toe with the best of them.
Data: An irony. It means that you have achieved in disgrace what I have always aspired to be." - I love the look Data has on him face after he says that. (sigh  )
-
Lol, fine, sure, I do too. But I seriously think that the poems were good (not just clever...)
-
Earth, lol (or possibly Omecron Theta...nah, Earth. It's gotta be Earth.)
-
hehe, of course!
-
I never said he HAD to...I just thought it was good that it was someone who would live as long as he SHOULD
-
From Nemesis:Picard: You have the bridge Mr. Troi.
Crusher: All things considered Data you have nicer eyes.
Data: Our eyes are identical doctor.
(The most bimboish thing Dr. Crusher has ever said)
Picard: Don't worry Number One we get you to Betazed in time where we will all honour the Betazoid tradition. Now if you need me I'll be in the gym.
I've seen this movie once, on kazaa (I missed it in theatres because of, well, you know..., and the DVD obviously, hasn't come out yet), and it was bad quality - I missed that part; what was Crusher talking about when she said "All things considered Data you have nicer eyes."?
Also, I loved the Mr Troi line.
-
Yes. I think the crew were very rude to Data.
I think I need to watch Frame of Mind again, though. I only saw it once and I was working so I didn't pay too much attention, but the plot made NO sense to me what-so-ever.
-
Congrats vcoolio
-
Thanks again everyone. But no commander for me yet. I wont get promoted until Data is!! (oh no, thinking about Nemesis again)
-
I know, poor guy. Aside from the girl friends, his daughter dies, he has to "kill" his brother, his father and mother died, he NEVER gets promoted, and he dies in Nemesis. If I think of anything else, I'll add it in.
And he still manages to be...Data
-
She was. And I thought it was...good that he ended up falling in love with an android. Anyone else and he would have out-lived them, and that would have ben devastating for him. I didn't like that she left in the end. I mean, I know she had to because it's a book, but I thought her reason for leaving was kind of thin.
-
Ya, I noticed that too (hmm...plot hole? Oh well, I'm sure we can find a way to cover up for it)
-
I don't think they're putting the edited-out scenes INTO the movie, you just have the option of seeing them separately, or something. That;s what I meant.

Now you're a commander too! Congrats!
Well, they resurrected Kirk in books, there's no reason why they shouldn't Data.
