  1. I love Q but he might be too difficult to explain to the non-Trek public they hope will come to the movie. I voted for the Romulans. It would flow very nicely from Nemesis as Riker was off to start negotiations with the Romulans who might not want to talk as much after things get back to normal on Romulus.

  2. I like E but I voted for D because we are so much more familiar with the ship. We really haven't seen much of the different areas of E as most of the ship scenes in the movies have taken place on the Bridge, in Engineering and Picard's Ready Room. We haven't really gotten a feel for the whole ship. D is like the house you grew up in - comfortable, safe and familiar. And I just LOVED D's stellar cartography set shown in Generations. That rocked!!!

  3. OK, is it just me or does anyone else think the Borg appearing on Enterprise seem like a bad idea? I know that has nothing really to do with this thread, but, then again Is it really a good idea to have another Borg movie? On that second question, hmmm... I guess it depends on the scenario.

Here is a brief synopis for you Yillara. It sounds like it will be well done and it won't break canon as the people on Earth and the Enterprise won't know that they are Borg.

Remember in "Star Trek: First Contact," Captain Picard's crew followed a small Borg sphere through time and blew it to bits over 21st-century Earth. Well, what happened to all that debris? That's the premise behind "Regeneration." In the story, an arctic research team in 2152 discovers fragments of an alien ship buried in the glacial terrain, along with the frozen corpses of two cybernetically enhanced humanoids. Except they aren't really corpses — once they're allowed to thaw they come back to life and put their nanoprobes to work. They abduct the scientists and hijack their transport ship, modifying it for higher warp speeds. That's where the NX-01 comes in. Captain Archer's crew gives chase, and learns what an insidious threat these cybernetic beings pose.

  4. Does anyone know of any other movies that Tom hardy has been in?

    According to IMDB:

    1 LD 50 (2003) .... Matt (not yet released)

2 Dot the I (2003) .... Tom (not yet released)

3 Star Trek: Nemesis (2002) .... Praetor Shinzon

4 Simon: An English Legionnaire (2002) .... Pascal Dupont

    5 Reckoning, The (2001) .... Straw

    ... aka Morality Play (2001)

6 Black Hawk Down (2001) (as Thomas Hardy) .... Ranger Sp4 Lance Twombly

7 "Band of Brothers" (2001) (mini) TV Series .... Pfc. John Janovec

  5. Wasn't Madden to Become RIKERS first officer???

No he was to be Picard's but since it wasn't in the movie there could be anyone as first officer if there is another TNG movie.

As for Worf, he is a part of the Enterprise crew. In a line edited out of the movie he tells Crusher that he wasn't cut out to be a diplomat. The startrek.com site did confirm this.

  6. At a recent convention Robert Picardo said he thought one of the reasons he got the EMH role was he had ended his audition with a Bones-ism

At the end of my Voyager audition after my last scripted line — which was, 'I believe someone has failed to terminate my program' — I took a long, droll look at the 22 people watching me in the room, and said, 'I'm a doctor, not a nightlight!'

They did give the EMH quite a few Bones-isms didn't they. Like in First Contact when Crusher tells him to delay the Borg and he replies "I'm a doctor, not a doorstop".

    Nice tributes!

  7. I've never been a Shatner fan. On the startrek.com boards people were commenting that he sounded really rude and unpleasant in the commentary of some of the special edition TOS movies recently released. Anyone here agree or disagree?

  8. Alterego, you may make me turn in my communicator badge after seeing this question but...I have to ask...who is Zimmerman?

I think Zimmerman is the doctor who created the EMH program. He was in an episode of Deep Space Nine and was played by Robert Picardo.

  9. Lt. Cmdr. Shelby in Best of Both Worlds bugs the heck out me.

I don't dislike Worf overall but there are times when I don't like him. The way he would make faces when his suggestions were rejected or the incredible lack of respect he showed Data in Gambit.

I'm not much of a Dr. Crusher fans either. In Thine Own Self when she is talking to Troi and says that for many years she didn't think about her rank because it isn't as important as saving lives seemed to sum up her attitude. Rank isn't as important, the Prime Directive isn't as important, the safety of her crewmates isn't as important, etc. :dude:

  10. Both annoyed me in different ways. Bev was too whiny so to speak. and Kate was a mean old bird. I guess if someone MADE me pick one. . .Pulaski but, just because I really dislike the whining.

After the way she treated Data? That was the thing about her that turned me off.

I think the writers intended to stir things up when Kate arrived. She didn't exactly get off to the best start with Picard. I think she pushed Data's development by challenging him in ways that Crusher never did. And after a few episodes she came to respect Data and consider him a friend as did he. She was there at the first Poker game, at Data's going away party, etc.

  11. In STM he said that if they were to make another Next Gen movie he would Gladly do it.. PLUS they kept B4 they have to use him at some point!!

    -Laur :dude:

I wish I could remember the link that said he did not want to do Data again. Maybe he changed his mind or the link was passing bad info. I do not remember any quotes. Anyhow, I guess we will find out what happens eventually.

I don't think he has ever said he didn't want to play Data. He did say many times that he wasn't sure how long he would be able to play Data since Brent ages and Data didn't (although there was a mention of an ageing program in Inheritance). I have seen many interviews that he did around the time Nemesis was released where he said if there was another TNG movie he didn't know whether he would be playing Data or B4 not if he would.

Have you seen the special features profile from the season 6 TNG DVDs. He talks about how great it has been to play Data and all of the different things he was able to do in the series.

  12. CBC!!! I'm Canadian, and I think the CBC has way better news then both Fox and CNN combined. Yay! Go Canada! Lol.

I like the CBC too, but that one guy whose name i can't remember, he has that bald head, he just reminds me of a bald Tom Brokaw. Anyway for the record IMO the BBC is the best, but i only get BBC America so we get just the 1/2 hour World News thing

I think you are talking about Peter Mansbridge.

You cannot beat the CBC for news.

  13. I have never been able to choose a favourite episode as there are so many incredible episodes. I think it would be easier to choose the worst since there would not be as many to choose from.

Some of my favourites: BOBW, Brothers, Chain of Command, Fistful of Datas, Data's Day, Gambit, Sarek, Inner Light and the list goes on and on.

  14. The burning the midnight oil lines came from All Good Things. It was O'Brien who said it was a metaphor.

The one in my signature below from Measure of a Man.

"For an android with no feelings he sure evoked them in others." Riker to Picard in The Most Toys

"Our mental pathways have grown accustomed to your sensory input patterns." Riker to Data in Time's Arrow

"Die" Worf to Q when Q asked what he must do to prove he was not a member of the Continuum anymore in Deja Q
