Not quite. Since they opose all forms of technology they use all sorts of biologically engineered creatures. One of them is a Dovin Basal. Special bred, those telepathic creatures can manipulate gravity. Special Dovin Basals are planted on the surface of an planet wich will then pull a celestial body like a moon or a spaceship down destroying the planet utterly.

Basals are also used also propulsion creaturs for their ships and skippers.

Ah but it definetely is worth it. I admit some books arent as interesting as others overall they do contribute to the story. Especially the first five books after Vector Prime bored the pants out of me. After that it gets more interesting.
