-I went to my best friend's daughter's graduation party yesterday. It was at a local banquet hall. The food was great. We had London broil and crab cakes. His daughter was the class valedictorian. My friend and I were sitting there wondering how the both of us ended up with geniuses for kids considering we were both a pair of nitwits....... :borg2:

His daughter will be attending Arcadia College in Pennsylvania and will be majoring in Physical Therapy.

- Today is the day of our big annual Memorial Day cook-out. I just spent the whole morning getting stuff ready. I have just a little time left to relax and take a quick shower before the guests start arriving.

I already had to make 2 runs for ice. I thought 240 lbs of ice was enough but it wasn't. I had to get 80 more lbs! This is the first year I get to trot out my R2D2 stand up cooler. Its about the size of the real R2D2. I got it from a local 7-11 that was going to throw it out! Some of you may have seen this cooler at a lot of 7-11s when Episode 3 came out. Its a pretty neat collector's item.

- I'm wondering whats happening to this board. It seems that less and less people are posting here lately. I come here in the morning and see just 6-7 new posts since the day before. I used to see several pages of posts. As the song says..."Where Have All The People Gone?"

- Anyway, I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day. I'll try to post later on how the party went but I fear I may be too wasted... B) If thats the case, I'll do so tommorow.

- The Memorial Day bash went great. Lots of people attended and a good time was had by all. I spent most of the day today cleaning up!

- Super hot day today. Whatever happened to Spring? It seems to go from winter straight to summer now.

- I bought the 2nd season of "Deadwood" off of EBAY today. Can't wait to watch it. I also can't wait for the 3rd season to start on 6/11/06.

Wow. Its been an eventful 2 weeks. I'll probably have to make several log entries to get it all in.

First off, the bad news.

Some of you may remember one of my drivers named Bill. He's a 65 year old man whose life has been spiralling downward ever since his wife died about 1 1/2 years ago. Check back on the posts in this log to see his whole story. Anyway, while Bill was doing his route last week, he was ambushed by some crackhead and stabbed with an icepick. The icepick punctured his lung and he went into a coma. The doctors didn't give him much chance of making it. Miraculously, he came out of his coma by the end of the day. He is now expected to recover although he is still in the intensive care ward.

His attacker was caught rather quickly. He ran and hid inside a boat in the back of someone's yard. The police sent the dogs after him and they found him. When he wouldn't come out, the police let the dogs chew on him for awhile until he did. To my utter dismay, this is the same lowlife that I physically threw out of Bill's house several months ago! Now he is in jail for attempted murder and a bunch of other charges. I hope he stays in jail for a long time.

- I called about my car yesterday. Apparently it now has some paint on it. Its painted from the front fenders down. The body & paint guy was having some problems with the body filler on the front fenders so hes going to sand it all down and redo the filler. Sigh.......maybe by next year, the WHOLE car might be painted...........:klingon:

- My uncle, aunt and cousin are in town to visit my Dad. They are from Germany. I haven't seen them since I was about 10 years old. Its REALLY awkward trying to communicate since they know no English and I know very little German..........

- We have finally got our plane tickets for our vacation. Here's a tip. Avoid these internet travel places like Travelocity,Expedia,Orbitz, etc. They are all rip-offs. They advertise a low fare. You accept the fare and fill in the info and the minute you enter your credit card info and click submit, a message comes on telling you that this fare is no longer available........ :welcome: Meanwhile, the original low fare is still continuously advertised on the site. You are much better off going to an actual airline website.

- Today is my wedding anniversary. I've been married to the same wonderful woman for 22 years! I sent her a dozen roses at her work today and I'm gonna take her out to dinner tomorrow night.

Thanks Psy! Now we can plan our day at the con!

- I'm getting ready to take my wife out to dinner as soon as she's done fixing her hair..... :welcome:

- I'm still trying to find some drivers. I gotta get all of my open spots filled before I go on vacation. I even offered a $500 bounty to anyone that will refer an applicant to me that will stay a minimum of 3 months and do the job the way its supposed to be done.

Lets see whats been going on.......

- For those of you who are following the hapless adventures of my driver, Bill, he is finally out of the hospital. He was in there for about 3 weeks. He may be able to come back to work in a few more weeks.

- I have some relatives here from Germany. My uncle, aunt and cousin. They speak NO English......

We introduced them to the delight of steamed crabs the other day. Usually, when someone comes in from out of town and you take them to eat crabs, they eat maybe 1 or 2. Its really a big Eastern Shore thing here in Maryland. However, my relatives loved the crabs and ate a bunch of them!

- Yesterday, we took them to Kobe's Japanese Steak House. Thats one of those places where they cook right in front of you and do all sorts of tricks while cooking. Very entertaining and the food is fantastic! I had Filet Mignon,Lobster, and Scollops.

- Today, my parents are taking them down to Washington DC to see the sights.

- This weekend Mr.Psychic, my son Eric and myself are going to the Shore Leave Star Trek Convention. I'll be sure to report on the inevitable drunkeness, debauchery and other shenanigans that Mr. Psychic is sure to involve us in........

The first thing on the schedule is the Klingon Feast on Friday night. They take regular food and make them look Klingon. Tony Todd and Spice Williams will be there with us. They are the 2 Klingons from Trek 5. I know, its the worst of the Trek movies but hey.......WHO ELSE is gonna consent to have dinner with a bunch of Trek fans?..... :P

- Hey! This marks my 4000th post!!!!! .....Yay for me!.......I will now sit back and accept your accolades!.... :)

Wow...What an eventful week so far!

- Last Friday night, My son Eric, myself and Mr.Psychic went to the Klingon feast at the Shore Leave Trek convention. It was pretty cool. The food didn't really look Klingon though. The only thing they really did was put red or pink food coloring in the mashed potatoes. Other than that, the food looked normal. It was pretty good , though. They had a bar too. I stuck with beer while Mr.Psychic drank rum & cokes. They were also selling blood wine. It looked like cranberry juice and vodka to me. Spice Williams and Todd Bryant were there all night. They were pretty cool. After we ate, they had Klingon kareoke, martial arts demos and gambling with fake Klingon money. We had a pretty good time.

- On Saturday, we went to the Trek con. I got autographs from Conner Trinnear, Spice Williams,Todd Bryant,Kent McCord,William Schallert and Antoinette Bower. We couldn't get into the room to hear Trinnear speak because it was too crowded so we left the con and drove around the block to the movie theater and saw the new "Pirates" movie. All in all, a nice time at the con. There's more to tell really but I'm going to give Mr.Psychic a chance to fess up.......

- On Sunday, I went to a company picnic during the day and a crab feast in the late afternoon. Good time at both places.

- On Monday, things went a little downhill. I started getting a severe pain in my lower abdomen. By Tuesday morning, it hadn't gone away so I went to the doctor. After he examined me, he told me he thought it was my appendix and that I should immediately go to the hospital. So I drove to the hospital and had them check me out. Sure enough, I had appendicitus!. They checked me in and scheduled me for surgery at 5:00 pm. Because the operating rooms were really busy that day, they didn't get to me until about 10:00 pm. So I spent most of Tuesday and Wednesday in the hospital. The doctor checked me out Wednesday afternoon and told me I could go home. So now I'm home but it REALLY hurts to get around. Good thing they gave me some pain killers.

Well, thats my exciting week so far.

- It still hurts to get around. I have to sleep on the couch becuase our bed is too high for me to crawl out of without tearing up my staples. On Tuesday , I have to go back to the doctor so he can see how I'm doing. This is the first operation I've ever had and I hope its the last!

Gosh Kor, I hope you take it easy and feel better soon!

I'm glad to hear you had a great time at Shore Leave. Sounds like lots of fun. Did Mr. Psychic end up in a shopping cart?

Glad to hear that Bill is out of the hospital. It's nice that your relatives got to visit too.

Belated accolades on your 4000th post! We need you around here, so again please take care of yourself!

Thank You, Odie & Trekz, for the kind words. They are very appreciated.

- I've been feeling a lot better the last few days. I can get up and sit down with a minimum of pain. I've even stopped taking the pain killers. I hate that loopy feeling that I get when I take them. The only problem I've had is that I had several large blisters form around the edge of the wrapping over my staples. They are the water filled type blisters, not the gross ones. They are still painful when they burst though. The wrapping also started to come apart a bit so I did some temporary damage control with some medical tape to hold it all together until I get to see the doctor on Tuesday. My wife keeps yelling at me that I'm doing too much and I'm going to tear my staples. She's probably right but since I own my own business, there is nobody to call in sick to. Thats the price you pay for independence. I still have to go to work and make sure things get done even if I'm over-extending myself a bit.

- Today, I had my annual crab feast for all of my employees. We had it at a restaurant by the water. It was really nice and everyone had a great time. I had t-shirts made for everyone. I didn't eat any crabs though. Ever since I had this operation, I haven't had much of an appetite, so I just ate some of the finger food like onion rings and jalepeno poppers. I didn't drink any alcohol either. Now THAT really shocked everyone... The bill came to just over $2000. I didn't enjoy that part all that much...........

- This week will be a hectic one. I have 2 new people to train by the end of the week. I also have to get 2 weeks of paperwork ready because we are leaving for vacation next Sunday. I'll be bringing my laptop along so I'll be able to post here from the road.

Did Mr. Psychic end up in a shopping cart?

Have you noticed that Psy hasn't been in here that much and hasn't uttered a word about the con? There's a reason for that and I'm going to give him a chance to fess up...

Well, thats about it for now. Until next time..........

- Super hot day today! I didn't go out much because 2 of my vehicles are in the shop.

- Tomorrow, I go to the doctor so he can check out my staples and hopefully take them out. I've had quite enough of them!

- 6 days til vacation!...I can't wait!!!

I went to the doctor today. He told me that I had to wait another week to get my staples out. This really sucks because in a week I'll be in Arizona on vacation. Now I have to find a medical clinic in Arizona to remove my staples while I'm on vacation. They also have to be able to take my insurance. I just know that this won't go well!

I hired a new guy the other day. He worked Monday morning then no-showed on Tuesday. This is AFTER I made a follow-up call to him on Monday night making sure everything went ok and making sure he was happy with the job. I can never understand why people have to lie about this. If they don't want the job......JUST SAY SO! and save us both a lot of time!

Bad news with one of my vans today too. I took it in because the air conditioning wasn't working. It turns out that the whole system is shot and it will cost over $1600 to fix! What else is gonna go wrong this week?

- Its now a full-dash scramble to get ready for vacation. I spent most of the day writing 3 weeks worth of payroll checks.

- We found a place at Lake Havasu that will take out my staples. So while everyone else is enjoying the lake, I'll be at the medical clinic................

- I got one of my vans back today. The other one is not yet finished being repaired.

- Still waiting for my laptop to come back. The battery wasn't charging so I took it in to be checked. Gotta have that for vacation!
