I'm a trekker. They are actually different things.

Trekker: Watches the shows, and has some merchandise.

Trekkie: life revolves around trek, watches the shows religiously, attends conventions, has loads of video's and DVD's and much more merchandise.

If this is the true definition then I am a Trekkie.

Trekkie. I find Trekker to not really signafy Star Trek properly..I could be looking too deep into it, but when ppl talk about star trek Trekkie fits better.

Well, the definition I've heard is that a trekkie followed the TOS, and a trekker the other one...

In that case, I would be a trekker.

And well, I like more trekker.. Sound more tech for me :-)

I guess I am considered a trekker because I watch the shows and I have some but not all of the merchandise.

I nulled my vote because I think of myself as both. Even though my screen name is trekker, I don't prefer one over the other. I just chose that when I was making my screen name, but thats just the mood I was in that day, the next day I might have done tngtrekkie220. I don't really believe about the rumors that one is for a certain series, or how much of a fan you are. What matters is that your a fan of star trek, not the lable you use.

According to your definitions, I'm a Trekker, but I call myself a Trekkie because that's what we called ourselves way back when.

Out of the two, I would rather be called "Trekkie". My life doesn't revolve around Trek, but it sounds better to me than "Trekker". Trekker sounds too much like a nerd trying to make his obsession sound more sophisticated.

I would prefer to be called a "Niner", or just plain old "Trek fan".
